I agree that I usually think of 6'+ tanks when people say 'big tank'. But most people who come in our house think the 55 and 75 are big, before they see my large tanks. Some think the 29 is large.

100 percent width major factor underestimated. Also when putting a tank in the wall, width is lost in the viewing of the tank.

I did a fair amount of reading before buying my 75, and the sense I got is 75-90 is about as big as can be safely placed on a normal floor (125 might be OK too since it would sit on an extra joist) and beyond that, you probably should have somebody take a look, and consider adding some reinforcement

Big tank is relative to size of your room, whether you're in a drought state, or live where you're not sure about your landlord's stance on aquariums and budget. All of this influences my thinking on what is big tank for me. I have all 10s except for two 20 gallon tanks. The 20 gallon aquariums are a step on the wild side for me.

Very very late to the party, but wifey is right: Pepsi is sweeter than Coke. Btw, in the south we call all sodas 'coke':)
from the internet: Ask any soda drinker the biggest difference between Coke and Pepsi, and nine times out of 10, the answer will be that Pepsi is sweeter. That's not surprising considering Pepsi has 2 more grams of sugar than Coke in a 12-ounce can (41 grams versus 39 grams).

Lol! Budget: 1st thing I thought of: plan to spend 30% to 40% more than you thought!
    My 90G live-planted: I thought 1.5K; I’m easily double that now 6-months in, & I HATE the $260-light I bought…so that’s back on the list.
My 5G-betta impulse purchase. I HAD the tank/heater/filter/live plants but I’m still up to $100 in lights/extra live plants/betta food/etc.

Good Day Jason, I'm new to having Cichlids in the aquarium. I've been use to having goldfish and guppies but now I'm going to try Cichlid ( EBA ) and
a few Apistogramma maybe later and corys and a pleco or two all in a 40 breeder. The question I have is I'm staring my tank from scratch and I seen your videos on ammonia nitrates nitrogen. Once I add my water and I add that fritz zyme 7 w/ the live bacteria do I start my sponge filter and hang on the back once its added or do I let it sit in the water for a moment and then start my filtration and how long do I let my tank cycle before I add my fish? Thank you all your videos are very informative keep me the good work

I usually add a small number of fish when I add the Fritzyme 7.

Here's another way of thinking the weight issue. Would you put a water bed on the floor.

I’m a huge planted nano fish fan. I have some 20gs and 30gs. I built my stand for a 30g in the hopes to upgrade to a 65g. It’s going to be 36”x18” footprint. I really hope it’s as easy to access and maintain as the 30g. I like my groups of fish to be as big as possible. I have a group of Cory’s and a group of panda garra in there and I really want to give them more space. I hope it goes well! If you have any tips or advice I’d love to here it💕

The 65s are nice - they can be a little tall and therefore harder to maintain and work on. You could also look at the 40 breeder - same footprint but shorter.

Two of my tanks are Walstadt. Any plans to try a dirted-tank? No root-tabs yet in my two, just EasyGreen for the anubias & duckweed, but the vallisnaria and swords are taking off I the dirt.

Two old people 😄 Not!! In my opinion Pepsi is definitely sweeter than Coke. I know this is true cuz my husband has the world's biggest sweet tooth and he likes Pepsi. I prefer Coke. Oh, and if you go to Scotland please take me too. Ginger ale is great but what about Root beer?? Good stuff.
Can you tell me if dwarf neon rainbows are safe with one Geophagus Topajos? The Geo is still small?

I found over half my plants always eaten by Golden apple & Mystery snails. I was told they will regrow in the tan aparrently? Is this the norm or they mature & become aggressive over a few weeks? Have you had an amazon sword eaten then regrown from a stump?

I really need help here. I don’t know what happened.. I do have RO water, but added or transitioned to Tap. I now have two tanks low PH and dealing with ammonia spike in all four tanks and one Nitrite spike in one. What can I do? Two of my Bettas are not acting like themselves. Been dealing with low Ph and ammonia for a week when I noticed something was off. The two are not eating, hiding, swimming with fins close to them and staying on the bottom. Yes, water change is happening. Just need a solution or steps to a solution.

You are doing what you can. The other thing you can do is add Fritz Turbo start, which has live nitrifying bacteria.
