I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm really confused! 1) If Rasheem was working at GP, why was he staying at a Laurel hotel instead of staying at the Taylorsville hotel? 2) If Rasheem talked to his mother and she knew about his fearing for his life, why didn't she send someone to get him then? 3) Why didn't one of his family come after him Sun. morning after he talked to his mother again. 4) His body was found with car keys - who's vehicle did these belong too? 5) Why were the cadaver dogs brought in, in the first place? 6) How did the police know where to look with the dogs? 7) Who did Rasheem identify as his "attackers" and have they been questioned? There are so many things that don't add up.

This is so sad. For the comments saying why no one went to pick him up, I'm familiar with Fayette MS. It is incredibly poor especially if you're a black person. His "close" family may not have had a car and there likely is no other public transportation (this is MS). While there may have been family or friends with a car, you will still find crab mentality bc he was able to get a "good job".
Law enforcement in that town as well as others know exactly what happened to him and by who. This is MS. They cover up racist treatment and crimes all the time. Yet "they" are in the positions to say "no foul play" "there will be no charges". The federal govt knows and does nothing unless the incident is on camera AND causes wider outrage.
I also remember several years back having a conversation with someone claiming that lynching don't happen anymore. This topic came about because a black man was found hanging within miles of this town. Hanging, with his hands tied behind his back. The powers that be ruled it suicide.
Point being, not a thing has changed other than now there are different terms (or reasons given) for killing a black person...they just won't plainly say what it is (murder simply because one is black).
But it's very sad. I'm sure he and his new job were the hope of his family to be able to scrape their way up a little more. So in essence they killed him and in some ways killed the spirit of his mom and family. And sent up a flare saying "don't get too uppity, don't have too much hope. We will cut those bootstraps that we've told you to pull yourself up by."

And the EXACT same GPS tracking, cellphone location tracking, and vehicle GPS data tracking that they used to prosecute and convict Alex Murdaugh is the exact same tracking information that they can use to ID EVERYONE that was involved with this lynch mob murder….starting with his named employer AND that sheriff…pull THEIR vehicle and phone tracking first before, during, and after the day this young man went missing. Sounds like they left him without a ride purposely & everyone in town knew he was prey. But clearly there’s big chunks of this story missing. With all the roaming he did around town, Couldn’t he have walked or trotted himself back to safety/home or at-least in that direction. 20 miles on foot in fight or flight mode is nothing. Something must have occurred to bring this on, hopefully he didn’t die over a white woman.

    • @cbreach2146

I agree. There is a lot that is missing in the story. I also do not understand why he was left in Taylorsville overnight.
The whole incident started on Oct 1 when he reported to his mother that yt men were chasing him in trucks. Then he spends the whole night of Oct 1 somewhere but there is no account of where he stayed.
It seems to me that the people chasing him would have been more likely to harm him *during the night* rather than wait until the next day (Oct 2) which is what happened because he is seen alive in the video footage in the late afternoon of Oct 2.
Once again, I don't understand 1) why no one picked him up on *Oct 1* 2) why he was forced to stay the night in Taylorsville, and 3) *where* he stayed that night.

    Prayer warriors unite in prayer....
Many prayers go out to young Mr Carter and his family. PRAYERS for God's vengeance upon everyone of those responsible for their heinous actions in the killing and dismemberment of an honest and hard working young man. The prayer is that each and every time those killing savage men look into their bathro9m mirrors, they will see horrific images of their souls. That everytime they speak that their voices be drowned out by the sounds of howling wolves, that only they can hear. And that the spirits of all men of Jackson Mississippi who were victims of torment and lynchings gather together as an army and dance, sing and march around the homes of those responsible for Mr Carter as well as the derelict Smith County Sheriff's department. May those same spirits march around the aforementioned 7 times every 6 days, until the guilty fall on each other and snitch out every involved perpetrator in their evil in the horrific killing of young Mr Carter. 35 1-9.
Strength, justice and condolences to Mr. Carter's Mother, family and friends.
p.a. every time this prayer is read, may it be Strengthened and brought to fruition, in our Father God's in Christ Jesus name. So it is, so it shall be. 91...
