Nice review! I wish you'd elaborate some more on the feel of the bow (draw smoothess, feel of the grip, ability to hold on target). I know that's somewhat subjective, but you're on the enviable position of being able to try out all the new bows, and you're a good archer.
Good job honest is always good great job in all you said I do like Elite but I’m a dealer of 8-10 brands and been doing this for 30-35 years I’ve seen it all heard it all hats off to you support your local dealer first and then the rest if you have to great job again
On the sound, is the meter just picking up the arrow as it is going by and not the sound of the bow? I'm assuming you're using the same 350 grain arrows every time. I wonder if you tried different fletching and see if the sound level is different? Or is there enough of an echo in the room that everything sounds the same? Oh and ignore all the Debbie Downers complaining about every little thing. You're doing the most in depth reviews of anyone and it is appreciated.
Any chance ur sound meter is picking up the impact to the target even with the closed door behind it? Seems possible considering the numbers are so close. One way to check would be to check it outdoors with the target far away. Alternatively u can use ur super slow mo camera and see if u can separate the readout from when the bow actually fires and when it hits the target, presuming the read out updates that fast
I would love a video to show everyone how the let off adjustment effects draw length and performance. I think they’re all long because they ship them at 90%. I wonder if the company has a “factory” let off position to match the module position for correct draw?
Elite states on their mod chart that draw length and speed are measured at 80% let off so there’s you extra length. I’d assume if the let off were set down to 80% the draw length would be spot on.
@josephfolsom2030 lower let off increases velocity. So the velocity would go up by reducing let off to 80%. At 70lbs and 90% let off equals 7lbs to hold the bow back. 70lbs at 80% is 14lbs to hold at full draw. That increase in pressure helps to accelerate the arrow. You aren't getting an extra 20fps from it, only a couple extra fps. Sony believe me? Shoot your bow as is at 100yards. Change your let off to the opposite end of the spectrum. If your let off increased (80 to 90 percent) your arrow will impact lower. If you decreased your let off (90-80 percent) your arrow will impact higher. Happy Hunting!
Will you add the measurement? The full draw stability.Which is the brace height at full draw, Lancaster archery said. That's why the PSE mock series is are so accurate at long ranges. Is because the brace height at full draw is almost 8 inches.I wanted to see what other bows are at full draw.
Is it possible the decibel meter is catching the arrow sound as it passes could you put it closer to the bow where the actual sound of the bow going off is
Since I’m convalescing at this time, the videos give me something to do. I’m even second guessing you on your grading before you say it😂. Without sounding arrogant I guess right with you most of the time. Good review Josh.
The speed is right on. The only thing that confuses me, why not start at 27.5" and go out to 33" draw? How many 26.5" people are looking for something like this bow vs their other offerings?
I agree 100 percent it’s for long draw archers so why are they starting at 26.5 it’s should start at 29 and go to 34 a short draw archers would go with the regular version if they wanted this bow
THIS is the same thing I wondered… I have a 32.5-33” DL and would’ve bought one. Talked to the lead engineer at TAC and asked if they’d have anything that’d go out to 33” DL and he said “we’ll have something for ya”… guess not.
@@lukemcd4412 Thats a bummer. If they went to 33", it would've been good competition for the Mathews Atlas and Hoyt Highline. What are you shooting now?
@@ArchersAnonymous-nb4ym I’ve shot all the LD bows from Mathews, Hoyt, and Bowtech. I eventually came back to the Atlas and have been loving that bow. Hoyt Highline was a close second for me.
MFJJ would you possibly be able to review the new Dialed Archery Pruf, sight looks sickk. Amazing features and light, compact. Made in US, no BS warranty for life. Just dont think it has adjustable pins for the vertical 3 pin design but everything else looks moneyy
You know what I am missing here?! There is not much light when the sun is not out. I remember you had this standing lighting fixture in one of the videos next to the board. What happened with that?
How about different metrics for weight on bows over a certain ATA. Hard to mark longer ATA bows down for weight when it’s obvious it’s gonna be heavier.
Instead of measuring the “load off point”, could you measure the string angle? Measuring the load off point isn’t an apples to apples comparison between bows of their brace heights are different, but measured string angle at 30” draw could be directly compared to each other
Have you tried your release on a rope to see what the noise level of the release is ? I think in this case it is marginally quieter than the bow in the video mike ! I'm you could find a quieter bow (eventually !)
I know you have mentioned the draw cycle is nice or smooth. Is there a way to measure the draw cycle and graph it to show the hump or smoothness. Then you could overlay the speed mod with the comfort mod and show that as a graph in post processing. It would give a nice visual and could be done in the draw board so its not dependent on how a human pulls
Why did the other high end bows get upgraded to the yokes and the Exalt models still have the old cam system? I want to get one, but seeing the other models makes me feel like they will just release and Exalt with yokes in a year or two.
No, the yokes are on the shorter ata bows to address the problems they were having with the cams rubbing the cables on the longer draw length settings. With a bow this long, those problems don’t occur.
How does it compare to a Hoyt Rx4 Redworx? And I mostly deer hunt with my Hoyt but we still like to shoot from time to time for fun also. Is it time for an upgrade or is my Rx4 still good technology and compared to your more recent bows?
Depends if you specd your arrows for 60 or 70lbs and if it's maxed at 60 or turned down to 60. If it's a 70lb bow with a spine for 70lbs and you turn it down to 60 it's going to shoot a lot slower
I hear guys always talking about draw lengths and speeds short. When you have bows that go from 75-90 % letoff. 75% is most likely ( unless stated), some test at 80%. But when you go to 85-90% yes, your draw length is going to be a little longer, yes your speed is going to be down. That bow IS NOT 14 for under ibo. Set let off to 75% and you'll pick up another 5-8 fos . Plus this bow came in just over 70#. They can test up to 72#. So actually test a bow like they do, and you have your speed. Damn I get tired of hearing about bows being slow when it's the way they are being setup and shot is the problem. Not shirt ibo
Interesting how some of these speed bows are only shooting the 650 grain arrows 4-5fps faster than this bow here. Even though they are 20fps faster with a 350
I’m not surprised, the same thing happens when I try a speed bow and a comfort bow at my 27.5 inch draw. It’s never worth the bad draw cycle for 8 fps.
Once again not checking speed and draw lengths at 80% letoff my Exalt35 29" draw 63.5lb 80% letoff with a 396gr arrow is shooting 301fps with the performance mods
650s are slow arrows not adult arrows. 450g is enough to kill a bison. I have a 2019 elite ritual 33 that shoots 295ish with 456g arrows with 29.5 draw at 72lbs , weird these new bows are slower
I would love a deep dive video talking about why half of bow manufactures make there bows with around 2 inches of reflex. Is there some pro to it that I'm missing?
It is for speed the more reflex = less brace height = a longer draw stroke so it would simulate the shooter has a longer draw length than what they actually have.
It's a limitation of limb length (they have to be a certain length to be able to properly flex and bend). If they could make the limbs 3" long, they'd be able to give every riser a deflexed design.
That makes sense, though the bow manufactures with small amounts of reflex make bows that are real close in speed as well. Is the amount of reflex just not that big of a deal?
@@daniels362 the more reflex you have it tends to make it torque easier and that will give you inconsistent impacts. Not a big deal if you are mostly shooting 40 yards and closer. If you have really good archery form it is not an issue.
Wow never thought I'd see the day. Elite made a bow that can actually fit me.

Maybe the sound dbs are the same just the pitch between the bows are different which creates a perception of how "loud" each one is
Could the sound being the same be the arrow hitting the target?
Again does letoff make a difference?
They come from the factory at 90%
Maybe try setting it to 70 or 80 and see if it’s faster??
You don't have to give the disclaimer about talking softly for the sound test on every review video IMO
How do the speed mods feel compared to standard?
