haole is a slang term that means someone who is foreign, as opposed to someone who is local. the company Howler can be portrayed as intrusive or invasive to Hawaii. I think Araki was clever picking the name for the evil company.

Part 7 was themed about fatherhood; Johnny, Gyro, Valentine and Diego were characters heavily affected by their fathers.
Part 8 on the other hand was more centered in motherhood with Holly, Mitsuba and Kaato, (it's also pointed out that the closest thing to a mother figure that the rock humans have are the wasps).
And now with part 9 it seems that it's going to explore brotherhood through Jodio, Dragona and Charmie searching for his lost brother. I'm very excited to see this theme in the story. After all, JoJo started with the rivalry between Jonathan and Dio.

    • @alirinaysugata8239
      @alirinaysugata8239 6 месяцев назад +30

Even if the main villain of Jojolands doesn't turn out to be Jodio or one of his allies, it could still set the theme of brotherhood by revealing that, while Dragona is one of Jodio's main moral foundations (besides his mother), this villain NEVER had someone who fulfilled that purpose (or there was, but they probably died and that would have caused their fall to villainy).
To be honest, they could add something similar to the Pucci brothers' relationship (one of Jodio's allies turns out to be the main villain's sibling); If there is not a SBR version of Diavolo, they could bring a version of Pucci that turns out to occupy a role similar to Weather (and the Weather and/or Perla of this part is/are the main villain/s).

9:24 It goes a step further than that two... not only does Dragona have dark hair, but also has a darker skin tone than Jodio, while their outfit, in the black and white manga, is almost entirely white... meanwhile, Jodio has light hair and skin with an outfit that is mostly colored black in the manga... you could even tie in what type of clothes they where into this equation... with Dragona wearing clothes that exposes more of their body while Jodio's clothes cover or hide his body, on which again leading to the idea of "the person familiar with the dark who has a lighter personality" and "a person searching for the light with a much darker personality"

That duality in Dragona and Jodio, I think, kinda represents Jonathan and Dio with some different details. Like Dragona is quite polite and not really agressive, but was shown kinda greedy during the watch scenes. Jodio in other hand is disturbed and violent individual that thinks humanity is a trash, but has some empathy left as he saved the parrot. And despite these differences, both of them care for each other, still never shown any signs of them ever arguing. (Basically they are literall Yin and Yang)
As for the father, despite showing him fully, he was quite out of focus and it is kinda strange we saw no face of his. So I think he's gonna be important for the plot further on.

Dragona sees events like her being bullied "absurd", completely random events that are completely independent of your evironmrnet or life choices.

He only does what he does out of deep care for his brother and stopped his revenge when he saw that the bird would get hurt. Make no mistake, trapping everyone on the bus was excessive, but I could see why Jodio did it that way. It's not like they were free of sin. Only one person expressed any opposition to Dragona's SA while everyone else sat by and allowed it to happen. It makes them responsible in a sense.

I really hope he references the song Fallen Angel, because it's my favorite song by King Crimson and the lyrics being about siblings and crimes/violence really give me those Jojolands vibes, you know?
Also I have to wonder if the reason for Araki listening to more King Crimson again could be because he is planning on having the stand King Crimson appear in Jojolands? We had The World in SBR. We had Killer Queen in JoJolion. The next main villain stand from the original universe would obviously be King Crimson.. Just a thought. Also, since I believe Part 9 is going to be the last part of JoJo's, I think we have a chance of seeing Pucci's Stand(s) in Jojolands as well. Knowing that Howler is a King Crimson reference, and that "The Matte Kudasai" is also a King Crimson reference... I have an idea that Usagi is likely associated with the Howler Organization... after all we know he is a drug addiction and to buy drugs takes money, which he could easily get if his parents were a part of some organization like this... the only question is whether or not he is actually with the group on this one... I'd think since it was because of Meryl that he was brought on the team, and since his ability requires him to work with others, he likely isn't an enemy, especially since that would be too obvious... but it is likely that he is associated with them (making him something more of a Trish in the story)...
That being said, since this part is based in part 5, and because of the fact that Araki initially planned to have a traitor in the group in the form or Fugo, something is telling me that at some point there may be a traitor... who it is I don't know... (although, if at some point in the story, Jodio were tricked into working for the enemy, I would not be surprised)

I think something to point out with Howler and Matte Kudasai were songs from an album trilogy that appeared after King Crimson went on a 7 year hiatus and changed their style of music.
Matte Kudasai is from "Discipline", which is the first of the albums that introduced this new sound of King Crimson. The Howler came from "Beat", the second of the albums notably known for causing drama within the group that caused it to split due to the song "Requiem", but eventually the group reconciled. The last album, which is yet to be referenced but possibly will be mentioned in the future is "Three of a Perfect Pair." This album is meant to explore "perfect opposites" or how there are various aspects of truths.
It makes me wonder what this could mean for the future of the group. Does this mean there is an inevitable fallout within the Joestar gang that leads to reconciliation in the future and possibly Usagi's role being much bigger than we anticipate?

I get that this may be triggering for some, but like…it’s important that this kind of thing gets shown. It’s important people realize the violence trans and queer people encounter DAILY. I think it’s just really shortsighted to drop the series over this. It’s like watching Schindler’s List and being like “I can’t watch this, there’s too much war and nazi imagery”. That the point. Don’t look away, see the message it’s trying to convey by showing this kind of violence. It’s important to confront injustices like this.

Y’know, a big thing I always wondered about Jojo’s was how Araki was going to end the series, especially considering that Part 9 is the biggest contender The ending needs to be something that puts a neat little bow on the entire story, something that ties in with the themes or narrative of the entire series, not just a single part. This is easier for other stories but the way Jojo formats It’s story through parts was what made the idea of an ending hard to think of. Normally there would be a narrative through line that connects everything together when it comes to stories with multiple characters but Jojo’s doesn’t have that anymore. There was the eternal battle between the Joestars and DIO but that ended once Araki decided to put parts 7, 8, and 9 in a different universe. Sure, Araki could make an ending for this universe but that would be pretty unsatisfying as a series finale; as if the last 3 parts were more of an addition than a continuation of the story.
I think this neutral force, which Part 9 seems to be about, is Araki’s answer to that question. What made me think this was Araki calling calamity the “Absurd” in this chapter. It was a pretty strange thing to do, but when you think about it, a lot of stiff in Jojo’s is completely absurd. That leads me to think that this neutral force is going to be the “Bizzare” or something of that nature. The series is literally called “Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure”, so it’d be fitting for the ending to be about the force which has guided everything. A force that’s responsible for all oddities and strangeness the Joestars have been apart of over the course of the story. That’s just my idea though.

  • @TheMadalucard

The issue with the realism argument is that while gender nonconforming people do obviously face a lot of harrassment and even abuse, thats not the whole of their experience, yet so far we've mainly seen Araki explore Dragonas gender through explicit attempted sexual assault scenarios and not much in other casual situations, people are just sick of authors seemingly only being able to explore these identities through endless trauma while not showing the joy and comfort that is also a part of it.
Its like saying that its realistic if Jojolands had a school shooting on average every 5 chapters, thats just stupid and miserable.

I also think Araki will pull off a Maki and Mai Zenin sort of conclusion, where Dragona dies and then Jodio has to figure stuff out on his own. It would be very interesting if that were to happen.

It's funny to me how Jodio has always looked like that but dragona use to look like an NPC 😂

Jodio has dio in his name, I think this part will end with dragona being the main hero of the part, and Jodio becoming darker and darker until even that small part that made him save the bird is lost, and he becomes the villain of this arc, just my opinion.

This part is already shaping up to be a certified banger

I think Jodio is a lot like Tony Soprano from "The Sopranos" as in he loves animals but has no qualms killing humans.
