      @@projkam4130 Little late to the party but I was wondering the same thing. It appears that the material is essentially neoprene with the "fuzzy" side of velcro on it. I plan to buy regular neoprene at a fabric store or scavenge some off of a laptop sleeve or something and add both the fuzzy and "hook" side of velcro to it. Probably any moderately stretchy fabric that doesn't fray when cut would work 🙂

    Why is the ulnar "knuckle" left open without compression?

    • @TheUpperHand
      @TheUpperHand  2 года назад +1

      If you turn your palm up and then down and keep you finger on the ulnar styloid that you are referencing, you will notice that it protrudes in one direction and almost goes away the other direction. If compression was right on that styloid it would likely be more irritating and could even cause rubbing in that area.

    Can a wrist widget be used for radial wrist pain?

      I have plenty of times before and patients report decreased pain so I definitely think so! Certainly doesn’t work all of the time though.

    The widget won't stay in place over the protruding bone. Any tips to keep it in place? Is this common?
    My ulna bone is much less prominent after the TFCC injury which is the opposite of your description. It doesn't stick up much at all which is probably why the widget won't stay over it.

      Sorry I’m just now seeing this. Some people do have a hard time keeping it in place. If I could see this in person I may have a few tricks to try to keep it in place.

    Tape works better, this material needs to be non elastic and water resistant.

      I 100% agree. The patient I initially made this for was allergic to adhesive so I just made do with what I had until her wrist widget came in!
