When the guy raised his hand as he said "bye" over the phone, i felt that on a personal level
Yees!
Wait, what duration was that?

ahaah
lol not sure why he did that over the phone...
As a Chinese who studied and works in Australia, it's the first time I saw how a day of work is like in China. Really impressed by this video. Thanks and keep it up.
Her job might be average, but her working condition and wellfare she getting is definitely not average.
Why?
I'm quite surprised that she works in online shopping industry, she get a day off on double 11 and the next day is also quite relaxed. I want that job.
You should try a teacher job😂
How many of us had worked a massive amount of overtime, passed out on a couch at work while a co-worker placed a tea down for you?
She probably seems more relaxed since she has a camera on her all day, so it's slightly less productive. I'm assuming that she probably does more when there isn't a camera I dunno, BaoPao is awesome, I've used it before.
This is so fake
This ain’t nothing average. Show the average Chinese person working in a crowded space factory working 14 hours a day and 30,000 ppl in a crowded lunch room
Each hour.
Haha my girl. Heather is an ever bubbly girl. We hanged out a lot in Bj. I interviewed her twice. She loves Africa. Great that she has now settled in Shanghai❤️❤️🤗
Small world, isn‘t it
I love that she loves Kenya. This is really endearing.
Sheeeeesh queen come Toronto next
She's in Africa now!
It's awesome, I'd love to see the same type of video with different jobs!

Li Yi Xuan's got a pretty packed and interesting day. You'd imagine a young person working an office job must be a boring story, but the company's cozy culture, her commute to work, and the activities she's engaged in throughout the day all make up for the experience I can barely imagine myself having in a much longer time.
A very nice video. Best of luck to the Born in the morning Happiness and this channel : )
The camerawork and editing isn't getting nearly enough love as it should! well done! what kind of 360 magic is that?
For anyone know how they do that
@@totoroid all you need is a 360 camera
cool trick the first time. got pretty sick of it after the 10th 360 shot
Thanks for stopping by!
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I know Heather. I met her in Beijing. How cool to see her in a Mamahuhu video!!!!! Great video. Great to see what Heather's life is like in SH.
Dear Heather, if you’re reading this, PLEASE consider wearing a good protective helmet while driving your e-scooter! I have a neighbor girl who was hit by a car and killed while on her scooter. I was almost crying watching you drive without protection …
This was very intriguing. Keep the series going! I'd love to see what a 996 employee goes through
I really thought this was going to be a comedy sketch involving too many cigarettes, naptime, the boss's idiot son, and afterhours baijiu work meeting with clients.
lmao me too
me too
Bahahahahahhahahaha
definitely wouldn't mind more episodes :) Good Job!
You’re in luck. Season 1 should be 5 or 6 episodes.
I thought this was going to be a pisstake but it was really informative and really insightful. I met the founders when I was in Shanghai 3 years ago. So great to see them being successful.
that's a gr8 docu with top-notch production actually, nice job!
Top notch?
@@antediluvianclockwork9769 It means very good. I believe it comes from comparing how high things are... A notch is a line you draw on a wall. In the old days and people were trading livestock they would want the tallest sheep/goat/llama - So they would be put against a wall and a line drawn at their height. The tallest would have the highest line, the top notch.
This was not what I was expecting but a total awesome surprise. It was interesting to see her life and cool to see a different video style. Want to see more "Average Day of..." vids!
This was right before the pandemic. Amazing.
looks like a good place to work, never know there is such a nice company. Imo a lot of Chinese e-commerce company didn't focus that much on working environment.
LazyMark2 it’s started by foreigners so I guess they created a culture that’s different from the usual Chinese company
@@Kpophdvidfan Huawei has a great work space too
@@wesleyvict lol for real? after 251?
actually, many of chinese internet companies like Alibaba, JD, Meituan, Didi are same as Heather's, maybe learned from foreign countries, but that is cool. unlike the many other traditional companies.
I just saw this episode, looks really interesting and comparable to my average workday at an IT company in Tokyo. Would you guys consider making an episode about the average day of an IT worker in Shanghai/Shenzhen? Kudo's from the Netherlands :D
Beetje laat maar hoe ben je aan een ICT baan gekomen in Tokyo? Ik ben nu systeem/netwerkbeheerder en wil waarschijnlijk cybersecurity studeren, is dat genoeg?
Didn't expect to see a friend from Beijing popping up on MamaHuhu. Nice to see that you are doing great in Shanghai Heather! 😁
Imagine spending about 200k USD for your kid to study abroad in the US so she can make about 15k a year. What a crap return on investment
Education is not about return on investment. And how many make 100K when their graduate? Besides who knows what heather might end up earning in the future.
they are probably loaded now due to global pandemic. look how much e-commerce has made in past year. who knows what opportunities can show up one day, studying abroad definitely gives you more possibilities.
@@ricosun you can educate yourself by going to your local library and for free. Unless you are studying computer science or medicine then western education is overpriced and not worth it.
Can’t wait to start work in Shangai again . I live in yangpu district. Love Shanghai so much ...
Most tech companies in China have adopted an amazing environment like western companies. They have gyms, video games rooms, amazing interior design, food and snacks, outdoor activities, boxing 🥊 rings. I visited a few tech companies back in 2019
Just found this channel. I thought it was nice to get an insight on Chinese workers. This remind of another youtuber: Paolo from TOKYO. Whom also does a day in a life of worker in Japan .
Wow, I'm still pretty "shocked" about what I saw (in a good way !)
The rythm is really intense (but I really like it), the music is per-fect. A little surprised that Mamahuhu is making that kind of video, but I actually also like the fact that you can have multiple video formats on a channel, so.... as someone said, I miss the humor, but wouldn't mind some other episodes like this on a punctual basis (like, one every 4 or 5 humor videos)
Thank you anyway !
🍿
🙈🙉🙊
(Thank's you too)
Really enjoyed this look into a typical day. She seems happy enough and very responsible also. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciated it.
Wow I thought she was gonna have a shity job turns out She’s got a cool job honestly !!!!
Yes, a far from average Chinese job haha
She's wearing a Kenyan bracelet
French quarter streets are lined with plane trees, absolutely beautiful sight. Have been there for 15 years, there used to a lot of custom suite tailor shops where tourists can get a custom made suite in a day.
Those with superiority complex fiddling in their mind saying this is way above average in China!? But this IS the average!
U see those high rise buildings in the cities? Most are nicely renovated offices, some rented some owned.
For coastal city like Shanghai, this is pretty average, rent a room, not cooking at home and a staff level job, no different from NY or London.
this is upper middle class in literally the wealthiest chinese city, the average chinese middle class is very different
@@jackeyjack Lol u haven't seen many cities in China !

I really like this kind of video! I have loved so so many of the skits and other serious/comedy videos, but this sort of "average day" video is quite different from the types of vlogging I've seen before. I feel like it helps me get a quicker, but still very informative look at what life is really like for many young people in Shanghai
Thanks! More episodes like this coming up.
Her bracelet is my country's flag y'all..... Feeling quite patriotic right now. Go KENYA!
Omg I almost interned for that company. It would have been great if you all showed a video about a foreign student in Shanghai as well as interning and see how their life is like. I’m currently doing both and I met one of your staff once in Jing’an while on my way to work. I love what you guys do!
I would love to connect with you all. I’m in Shanghai until the 30th. 😁
You all got sponsored!!! Congrats!! 🤗 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊
I'm fine with this kind of sponsorship.
Interesting Video. I just enjoyed it for the second time.. Glad to see you Mamahuhu dealing with different content topics. I've always been a fan. Keep fighting the good fight. Me and my interracial family look forward to return to China as soon as it is allowable. I detest all this crazy USA vs China politics . . . and very much miss our good friends and relations back on the mainland.
9:53 This is why you let people exit the elevator before getting on...
Her command of English is really good. Impressive
This was wonderful, thank you! Helps to give some genuine insight into what it's like to live in Shanghai as a normal person.
I live these day in the life videos on RUclips, it's some of the best content.
Is this an average day for an office worker in Shanghai or an average day for Heather? There's a difference.
Average day for Heather. Otherwise it would be better titled titled “A Day In The Life Of An Average Chinese Office Worker.”
This is such a cool series :)
so typical. I really miss Shanghai so much. Good to see the familiar places
this is great!! I would love to see more like this. every video you guys make is such great quality and I enjoy watching every minute of them!
seriously???? I am at work by 7:50, showering in the morning and walking 30 mins to work.... I worked in her her district as well. Near Xintiandi and Tianzifan
Calm down. Are you feeling insecure or something?
The site she works with is HUGE.
I wish her all the best.
But her life certainly is not typical for Chinese office workers… but wad fun to watch.
I love these an average day please keep doing more
6:39 These guys must be millionaires now due to Covid
Hahaha 😂
I forgot this was precovid lol. Masks are so common now that I thought ofc it makes sense someone would sell those types of masks.
@@ShaferHart not only masks but every online business selling anything earned a lot.

this felt like 'a day in a life of' series but in china haha. nice.
I‘m so happy to have an office room for my own. And now i am in home office, even better.
Mamahuhu got a nice little pay day out of this one. Good on them. I found it reasonably informative in-between the product placements and the fish eye shots
Very nice , a fresh look of young Chinese office worker
Really enjoyed this!! I agree with other commenters that it’d be super interesting to see how the daily lives of those in other professions would compare. Also maybe different areas of Shanghai. I really liked the background and information that I gave about each aspect of her life👏👍
i love how casually shes dressed
I think this was a slick portrayal of an average day in the life of a Chinese office worker. It was good to get a behind scenes look at Baopals though. Their service is wonderful!
A glass of milk for breakfast? The first place I’ll arrive would be the toilet 😟
I would love to make an average day of my life in Shenzhen if possible! Life is interesting at the world's largest printing company and I hope I could be an example of a well integrated foreigner. Really great idea guys, as always. 👍🏼

We got two more in the bag.
the 360 angles are really dope, nice job
Just a typical day of any office worker anywhere on Earth. I wonder why did she move from Beijin to Shanghai? she could live the same way at home.
So today, I learned there was an opposite valentines day, I am happy about that.
Love this series, very realistic view of everyday life in SH!
If this is an average day in the life of a Chinese office worker in Shanghai...I should move to Shanghai :-p. I work for an international software development company in Xi'an and...it's not this nice. Don't get me wrong, it's not hellish or anything (usually), there's a lot to enjoy, but it's also not as nice as this. And Xi'an's weather... 哎。 Don't get me started on the pollution.
Anyway, this kind of content is great. As always, lots of love for what you guys are doing. I'm all for having both comedy and documentary, and it's actually kind of fun not knowing which it's going to be before I start watching.
I really like these day in a life videos
Thank you for Uploading this amazing content.
Love from Pakistan 😍 🇵🇰
This was a great video, really enjoyed it and would love to see more like this format! Your videos are always so well produced!
This was amazing and insightful, thank you!
I thought Didi was going to also rent scooters
I really liked this and would like to see more. I'd also like to hear more about expat startups in Shanghai/China in general. How common are they? I thought you had to partner with a Chinese national and give them 51% ownership or something?
You're never forced to do so. It's a way foreign nationals try to skirt around China's policies to be treated as a "domestic" firm rather than a "foreign" firm. Foreign firms, in any country, will always be subject to extra checkups and fees that a local firm will not. Some countries, such as the US, outright ban foreign firms/workers from operating on its soil if an equivalent US firm/worker is available.
In China, exceptions are made for free trade zones, but obviously that means you will be facing competition from all the foreign firms trying to start in China. The other exception is if you are providing a service local firms cannot produce. The two most prominent examples are foreign language services and foreign food services.
Her life looks great.
Thank you Heather for sharing you day with us :)
I wanna ask the Italian Guy at 2:38 where did he get a book about HTML & CSS in Italian here in shanghai
I just watched a 10 minute baopals ad
Although 7 years apart, Her job and lifestyle is surprisingly similar to my job and lifestyle when I was in Southern California as a Chinese person at her age. I'm now wondering if all 25 years old who work in e-commerce space have so many similarities.
Looking forward to more of these episodes, but maybe some in surrounding cities as well? Nanjing, Hanghzou?
Good job!! I would love more videos like this!!🇨🇳👍🏼
This was fascinating, but the music was a little intrusive. I would rather hear what is being said than the tunes.
We'll lower the music next time.
