I own a 2011 CTS coupe and it is very comfortable, quiet, and performs very well even in 2015 this car is amazing. It corners like its on rails, the looks are amazing. For the people that say this is junk American you have never owned it or have driven it for a while. The reliability factor is a 10, haven't had a problem with anything on this car sense we bought it, can you say that about your BMW, or Audi, Yeah it may weight 4000lbs but it's a solid car and well built, it seems that any time the Americans come out with a car that is outside the norm, people will try to tear it down. I tell you what, when I pull up in my car more people look at it than your foreign piece of junk.
The New generation of Caddilac's which took there deisigns from the Cien got it's angular look from the F22 Raptor so im completely fine with these sharp angles they look damn good. Im thinking of trading in my M3 for a CTSV coupe eventually.
Wow, Im driving a CTS 4 Coupe to Florida next week Grampas new car, wanted to see a review Hope its a bit more comfotable than the author says But I might agree that It just might be a fashion statement car I will come back in 2 weeks with my own review Happy Motoring
I have a Black Raven coupe. Love it. Nice quiet ride. Reasonable power. I get looks everywhere and thumbs up from strangers. If you want a race car get the "V". The stereo rocks!!
I have a 2012 CTS Coupe, and I don't find the ride harsh at all. It's quiet inside, steers just fine, and the seats are very comfortable. Performance is fine for a daily driver. I see your test was on a 2011, maybe they fixed your complaints for the new model year.
@DeepVoiceMan They wouldn't complain about ride comfort if it handled like a SPORT COUPE should. But as it stands, it barely handles like a Mercedes E class coupe which is bigger, more practicall and SUPERCOMFORTABLE!!
@DigableDude They wouldn't complain about ride comfort if it handled like a SPORT COUPE should. But as it stands, it barely handles like a Mercedes E class coupe which is bigger, more practicall and SUPERCOMFORTABLE!!
@DroidNoid you should have checked for aftermarket products for your car. Sometimes, those warranties are bullshit. For an 05 GTO, there's plenty of companies that have parts to replace almost everything in the engine. And will last way longer than factory or dealer installed parts. And in some cases, you could have paid less. And that's for ANY car made today.
@DigableDude agreed!...dont u just hate the reviewers these days....if they want practicallity they should just get the sedan...this car is niche anyway
Rarily trust Edmonds for an accurate review on American cars. They always have a way of slighting them. Yet they always overlook Toyota imperfections especially before all the recalls.
@bkvintagecorp I used to have a G35 coupe, and I would take that old '06 G over this CTS anyday. The car is decent looking, but no car to this day IMO for the luxury coupes beats the G35/37 in looks. Oh and yeah, the new Mustang is nice.
@bkvintagecorp Yeah.. that is pretty bad. It's mainly because of all the weight this thing has to carry around. Tons of technology and luxury = tons of weight.
Honestly, I think GM watered down this couple so it would be exactly equal to the sedan and wagon in hopes of keeping the popularity of all three style cars equal. Anything more, it would outshine the sedan and wagon. In other words, marketing strategy.
I really dunno why they made a coupe anyway seeing how excellent the sedan is in terms of performance AND looks. All Cadillac did was remind it's buyers why the original CTS (the Catera) turned out to be an epic failure. If you're gonna make it worse, just Tim Taylor that thing and give it MOAR POWER.
@DSNCB919 Hey, I'm just sayin. I love the CTS-V Sedan. One of the best sedans around. I was just sayin the CTS, non V, coupe could have used a bit more refinement.
@1englandnigga i have only seen chryslers do that...my sis has a pt cruiser...i thought it was ver weird also...but my car has daytime running lights and does not do it....its american also..so idk
ITS A COUPE! i hate when people talk about room in the back of the car or even trunk space. if you want all of that then get a sedan. i had a coupe and i typically didn't ride with more than 2 people. i had one in the front and told the other one to either get behind the passenger or lie down
5.7 seconds for the 1/4 mile? From a 306hp car? Come on Cadillac. Just because people liked the sedan and the wagon doesn't mean you should forget about the coupe. Lets just hope the CTS-V Coupe will deliver what this lacks.
I disagree about the comment about the comfort. My bmw 328i is quiet, comfortable, quiet, compliant to road imperfections, nut sporty as well. That's what a luxury GT should be. Sporty, yet comfortable.
@BlackTransAmdude lol u know.. the CTS-V has 500 something hp.. and about the same if not a bigger amount of issues as the regular CTS model. Saw the review of the CTS-V by consumerreports... "may not be the most reliable out there" what do you expect it's a GM when Top Gear took the Corvette ZR-7 for a challenge in the US on the third day it wouldn't even start lol speaks for it self if you ask me :)
damn , my favorite car company just can't seem to get it right . this car has less doors , but , weighs more than the sedan . it should weigh less so it can have an advantage in performance . sigh ! gm needs to hire some teenagers , at least they are building exciting cars
if u want a spots coupe get the V, otherwise don't bother. plus it is the first time Cadillac has made the CTS coupe, and as all first models go, it isn't as good as it should be... if i were u i would be looking for the second generation model.
I wish they would have done a better job designing the coupe. I think it's just too many angles. If they designed it correctly, it could have looked 100 times better than the sedan.
@ultogamma na man I got a 4wd that I would pick over a summer time car any day lol just saying looks more like an suv in the back or some type of gay crossover
I have the 4 door 2010 CTS and it handles 1,000 times better than the CTS Coupe, who's designing these cars for Caddy they dont know what they are doing, your better off with the Camero if you want something sporty
If you're looking for real performance in this coupe, then buy the CTS-V Coupe, which puts out 556 horsepower with a V8 with manual transmission. This V6 CTS Coupe is only targeting buyers who want a luxury coupe without too much performance. I think insidelinevideo should have bought the CTS-V Coupe and tested that car instead of this.
Kinda' rushed. Love the looks but the details are problematic. Not a bad idea, but needs polish. Just another reason why I fear GM is slipping back into old and very bad habits. Cutting corners while they shouldn't and/or did not need to in the first place.
isn't it time detroit shut down its design offices and just made Chineses cars under licence? I mean at one time Detroit made lovely cars but now they are like yesterdays Domino's - stodgy and tasteless and in the shadows of a thousnd other cars. And why so few models? Mercedes has a massive lineup to suit every taste and pocket...but Detroit prices are all the same.
hmm, lets see. The CTS-V 0-60 in 3.9 sec, 1/4 in 12.0 sec @118mph 2nd fastest recorded lap time of any production sedan on factory tires at the Nurburgring Nordschleife of 7:59.32 Top speed recorded at 179mph People can say what they want. Call it a heap of junk, call it a piece of shit. But numbers don't lie! When you can catch one of these CTS-Vs in a race with what you have, and can beat that track time, other than the Porsche Panamera that is the fastest right now, then talk shit!
And it's not good looking enough either!! Those huge slab sides, and enormous rear quarters make even the V's 19's look small. And the tall rear end with vertical lights do not look sporty or sexy or anything. I like the front, but that's identical to the sedan.. LOL!!
I own a 2011 CTS coupe and it is very comfortable, quiet, and performs very well even in 2015 this car is amazing. It corners like its on rails, the looks are amazing. For the people that say this is junk American you have never owned it or have driven it for a while. I tell you what, when I pull up in my car more people look at it than your foreign piece of junk.
From your POV how are the backseats?
The New generation of Caddilac's which took there deisigns from the Cien got it's angular look from the F22 Raptor so im completely fine with these sharp angles they look damn good.
Im thinking of trading in my M3 for a CTSV coupe eventually.
Looks good thats all that matters. smooth ride? well you can get the F1 or F2 suspension .
Wow, Im driving a CTS 4 Coupe to Florida next week
Grampas new car, wanted to see a review
Hope its a bit more comfotable than the author says
But I might agree that It just might be a fashion statement car
I will come back in 2 weeks with my own review
Happy Motoring
That Caddy is awesome
I have a Black Raven coupe. Love it. Nice quiet ride. Reasonable power. I get looks everywhere and thumbs up from strangers. If you want a race car get the "V". The stereo rocks!!
WOW! I cant believe the "Top Gear" like brutal honesty!!! Thats great to hear and see in US auto shows.
Beautiful car front to back.
I have a 2012 CTS Coupe, and I don't find the ride harsh at all. It's quiet inside, steers just fine, and the seats are very comfortable. Performance is fine for a daily driver. I see your test was on a 2011, maybe they fixed your complaints for the new model year.
But how are the backseats space? They make it seem it's more worse than a normal coupe.
@DeepVoiceMan They wouldn't complain about ride comfort if it handled like a SPORT COUPE should. But as it stands, it barely handles like a Mercedes E class coupe which is bigger, more practicall and SUPERCOMFORTABLE!!
@mista925 however i do agree that the american autos have step up their game
After 5 years of BMW's 6 series birth date it looks like it still crushes all the coupes out there in all the terms of a good coupe ;)
@DigableDude They wouldn't complain about ride comfort if it handled like a SPORT COUPE should. But as it stands, it barely handles like a Mercedes E class coupe which is bigger, more practicall and SUPERCOMFORTABLE!!
@ultogamma totally agreed
My rating for the CTS Coupe is an 8 out of 10. Any car that ranks an 8 is pretty good.
Crap review. The CTS couple is a beautiful and comfortable car.
I have a 2012 CTS4 .AWD .Love it with performance package. Road hunger and yes a little stiff ride. It's all how you drive it.
damn, thats one hell of a revelation, better wait for the CTS-V coupe... if theres such a thing...
YES!!!! I LOVE MINE....
@CDTbossy it was for a while then it went back to RWD in the 90s
@DigableDude agreed!...dont u just hate the reviewers these days....if they want practicallity they should just get the sedan...this car is niche anyway
Rarily trust Edmonds for an accurate review on American cars. They always have a way of slighting them. Yet they always overlook Toyota imperfections especially before all the recalls.
Atleast it looks good...
@bkvintagecorp I used to have a G35 coupe, and I would take that old '06 G over this CTS anyday. The car is decent looking, but no car to this day IMO for the luxury coupes beats the G35/37 in looks. Oh and yeah, the new Mustang is nice.
@skorpion47 oh my mistake, Yah I meant to say the ZR-1.
@BMWBurnoutM3 your right, sry for my brash statements it was fanboyish of me
i miss the eldorado coupe from the late 90s/ early 2000s
that would've made a bad ass V
So if the CTS Coupe kinda lags let's see the CTS-V Coupe hopefully it works.
I dont c how a coupe version gets so much better reviews on styling than the sedan...mot a huge deal or difference...
@Ji99i3 No I agree with you! And i usually hate 4 door sedans and love 2 door coupes! I hate the Rear!
@UFCextra 4.2sec actually. 3.9 with roll out (quite cheating)
also LFA has the sound of old school formula 1 cars which is the best sound on earth.
HATERS GONNA HATE,,I LIKE IT
definitely a "hey, look at me!" car
Too bad cadillac doesn't make a big spacious comfortable coupe like the eldorado was, but I would take the V coupe if I want a more sportier car.
@DeepVoiceMan "it has negative points because i would have liked my seats finished in Chuck Norris... and thats not an option" - Inside Line
@1englandnigga i got a 05 chevy impala...my sis car is a 07 pt cruiser...ive seen hers do it, but mine doesnt
@bkvintagecorp Yeah.. that is pretty bad. It's mainly because of all the weight this thing has to carry around. Tons of technology and luxury = tons of weight.
300hp and 6.7s to 0-60mph. God it blows major balls
Nice, I'll stick with the sedan though. =)
Honestly, I think GM watered down this couple so it would be exactly equal to the sedan and wagon in hopes of keeping the popularity of all three style cars equal. Anything more, it would outshine the sedan and wagon. In other words, marketing strategy.
@skorpion47 i love the look of the car but i'd rather get a G35 or a G37 instead... the new mustang V6 >>> this car
@mista925 actaully ford owns loans to private loan agency, they have major laon issues right now......
@alienware12345007 RIGHT. Thats why the Camaro had a shit load of things wrong and recalls right? PSHT!
@DSNCB919 Hey, I'm just sayin. I love the CTS-V Sedan. One of the best sedans around. I was just sayin the CTS, non V, coupe could have used a bit more refinement.
@chosuriki 1955 called. They want their values system back.
@1englandnigga i have only seen chryslers do that...my sis has a pt cruiser...i thought it was ver weird also...but my car has daytime running lights and does not do it....its american also..so idk
ITS A COUPE! i hate when people talk about room in the back of the car or even trunk space. if you want all of that then get a sedan. i had a coupe and i typically didn't ride with more than 2 people. i had one in the front and told the other one to either get behind the passenger or lie down
Why would you get the standard coupe?? Get the V. It's rated extremely well.
5.7 seconds for the 1/4 mile? From a 306hp car?
Come on Cadillac. Just because people liked the sedan and the wagon doesn't mean you should forget about the coupe.
Lets just hope the CTS-V Coupe will deliver what this lacks.
@sexyboi142 I agree.
hang on... how is it that the V is considered livable by many sources and the base isn't?
I disagree about the comment about the comfort. My bmw 328i is quiet, comfortable, quiet, compliant to road imperfections, nut sporty as well. That's what a luxury GT should be. Sporty, yet comfortable.
a turbo v8 version would make them not care about the back seats or the trunkspace.
Ouch. This is the harshest review I've heard yet.
@Ratmouth66 enjoyed your comment
I don't like the chunky C pillar, damn DOT regulations.
well isnt there gonna be a cts v coupe ?
@PlayaJattXP nonsense I think he's just telling the truth. And that's a pity because I quite like the looks of the coup
damn , my favorite car company just can't seem to get it right . this car has less doors , but , weighs more than the sedan . it should weigh less so it can have an advantage in performance . sigh ! gm needs to hire some teenagers , at least they are building exciting cars
Ashame they couldnt have tried the 2011 CTS-V coupe.
@Misiekgren What the hell is a ZR-7... do you mean ZR1?
@techdude6693 Def, or maybe an E coupe for something in this class
if u want a comfortable coupe, dont get the sport suspension. if you want a sportier coupe, get the v. simple.
@ViperVenomACR They are trying to support the economy bud.. that's what it all comes to really...
The trunk look like it was made in my garage and the back seat are beyond cheap
@italianbroker1 yeah I know lol but still the XLR was ugly and this is also
if u want a spots coupe get the V, otherwise don't bother. plus it is the first time Cadillac has made the CTS coupe, and as all first models go, it isn't as good as it should be... if i were u i would be looking for the second generation model.
6.7 o to 60 was my 99 GTP speed from a 3.8 at 1/2 the price. When I added fresh air and exhaust was 6.0 to 60. this isn't worth it.
I wish they would have done a better job designing the coupe. I think it's just too many angles. If they designed it correctly, it could have looked 100 times better than the sedan.
@ultogamma na man I got a 4wd that I would pick over a summer time car any day lol just saying looks more like an suv in the back or some type of gay crossover
in all fairness the car isnt made to be practical....if u dont like it, just get the sedan...its quite a looker also
306hp and its slower to 60 than my 211hp A4?
I'll rather get the sport wagon than the coupe
I have the 4 door 2010 CTS and it handles 1,000 times better than the CTS Coupe, who's designing these cars for Caddy they dont know what they are doing, your better off with the Camero if you want something sporty
It looks more like a hatchback than a coupe imo I much rather own a CTS-V sedan more room, more trunk space, better performance and better looking.
Sportwagon, Please
If you want a CTS coupe, buy a Pontiac 6 Coupe they look the same and save 25,000 dollars
I'd rather have the CTS sedan instead of the coupe.
I'll stick with the Sportwagon
in its effort to be everything to everyone, this car ended up being good at nothing. it spread itself thin.
@JoeBird76 that and buy the sedan.
Kinda' rushed. Love the looks but the details are problematic. Not a bad idea, but needs polish. Just another reason why I fear GM is slipping back into old and very bad habits. Cutting corners while they shouldn't and/or did not need to in the first place.
I just found a new winner for the ugliest car contest. plus, the GT500 is just about as fast and looks prettier too
I hate the electronic doors.
does it look cool?
they shoud make a convertible, that will make all problems dissappear
isn't it time detroit shut down its design offices and just made Chineses cars under licence? I mean at one time Detroit made lovely cars but now they are like yesterdays Domino's - stodgy and tasteless and in the shadows of a thousnd other cars.
And why so few models? Mercedes has a massive lineup to suit every taste and pocket...but Detroit prices are all the same.
Looks like its based right off the Camaro. Everything in the enterior is small, uncomfortable and dont work.
HEY! LOOK AT ME!!!
they tried to make it Sporty (in wastern american accent)
chinos worrying bout sun hes not actually reviews it get some tints prob solved -___-
Cadillac is for over age !!!.....
hmm,lets see.
The CTS-V 0-60 in 3.9 sec, 1/4 in 12.0 sec @118mph
2nd fastest recorded lap time of any production sedan on factory tires at the Nurburgring Nordschleife of 7:59.32

wow thats a big disappointment :(
lets hope the cts-v is any better
i hate how this thing looks i don't know why people buy this over a 3 series or M3 maybe just cuz it is cheaper
