- Hi guys...Success at last with the bow. I get my first downed Sika stag from 41 yards. Not a monster but meat in the chiller and a story to tell. After a few failed attempts I get lucky.

What a super awesome video. Beautiful country for a spot and stalk hunt. And with your friend beside you so well trained! Hunters that stalk learn the most relevant thing about hunting IMO - PATIENCE! I love this type hunting especially with my bow. So rewarding when it all comes together. 30 years ago I used m long bow when in cover like this because it was a lot faster getting off a shot and the compound bows then we’re basically junk.

Thanks Chris....I have a Bowtech Prodigy set at 65 # with a Vendetta range 2 finder mounted on the side shooting "Alien archery" 125 grn matrix broadhead

There are no predators in nz, so hunting, starvation, and 1080 poison are the only controls for deer over populating an area. Starvation is cruel, and poisoning them is worse. Hunters are part of the eco system and work in balance with nature.
