Legendia the game that got me into Tales of Series. It's highly underrated. The music is stupid good. Characters are unique and more..down to earth? (If thats the right saying) compared to nowadays. Character stories are really good (albeit they should be in the main portion of the game) Ugh I need a remake or remaster of this game
I loved the post game content where you get to know the characters better. Quite frankly, Legendia is probably my favourite tales of game… I did enjoy symphonia a whole Lot, and I’m currently playing Vesperia for the first time (and I’m really invested in it, what a great game it is!)
True. I was totally blown away. I played it knowing the game is one of the most disliked Tales games... and after finishing the main story, I wasn't very fond of it either. But the Character Quests changed things. It made me love the game, the after game has a lot more story than the main game - and it's more interesting as well.
Oh, I didn't know Norma is apparently the most hated char in the franchise. Don't understand why, she's hilarious. Yea, the environment and dungeons look great in Legendia. Just wish they were less linear. I like me some puzzle booths. It was a risky idea, but I think it paid off. Oh, if you haven't done the character quests, you missed out big time IMO. They're really nice. Well... it was "a random experiment from a publisher who was getting a little ahead of itself with making new Tales games" indeed, as you put it. But it turned out to be one that I personally enjoyed a lot. I'm still more biased towards Eternia, being my first ever Tales game and all.
Yeah uh so the character quests were actually part of the main story and like many people assumed _wrongly_ about it, the people in charge of the dubbing thought so too they didn't voice that part rather than budget constrains and you can tell they weren't aware of that fact bc every cutscene is voiced even during the character quests
actually it's because the people in charge of dubbing it over ran out of money. But then again that's what happens when you hire two union actors without Nintendo's help.
It might be the contrarian in me, but I’ve always have a huge soft spot for Legendia, though I sadly have never gotten too far in it. I really want to pick it back up and go all the way through it sometime, but I’m determined for Berseria to be the next Tales game I finish, after which Zestiria might have to be the next one I tackle due to Berseria being its prequel. Legendia may end up having to wait a while longer for me to really dive into it…
Out of the Tales games i can't play cause Tales team is allergic to ports and translations (hopefully recent statements change that), Legendia is probably up there as the top 3 i wanna try the most. I already love the cast (mostly) from walkthroughs, dig the artstyle both in game and in artwork (Samurai Champloo fan), and Senel is so unique as a playstyle for the series plus Chloe looks like the most fun swordsman in 2d tales. Idk, i get why some folks in the fanbase look at it weird but it clicks with me heavy. Just need my hands on it. And at least opinions on it have lightened a bit. Idk who the heck is stating Norma as the most hated character in the series though, she rules and i can think of someone more deserving of that in this very game, let alone the series in general lol
I'm watching this retrospective and remind myself, I've yet to complete abyss on my 3DS, have yet to finish Symphonia or vesperia, and I got the switch version of vesperia...I'm so bad at keeping up.
norma is also hated by cosplayers too. Until 3d printing got easy Norma was the Hardest to make legendia aged poorly but the characheters and outfits didnt. Its odd. Love the series that made me a known cosplayer at the same time it has it flaws
i got to this game thanks to the soundtrack, the trailer i get to see had "the prayers become power" that has to be one of the best pieces in videogames ost history. it sounds intense, like Holst with a little of Dvorak, it was absolutely awesome! but sadly was not very appreciated.
Legendia is decent - I liked it. Style / music was nice. + Points for boxing main hero. I always love when rpgs especially tales have good martial artists like Fara Jude etc
The best game ever made!!! You really should go back to play the Character Quests all the way through. Grune is only mysterious to you still because she was included in the main story as a prelude to the character quest. Abyss has nothing on Legendia and a remake would prove that so easily.
@@westonmeyer3110 the idea is awesome the execution was poorly implemented though. They’d need to redo the whole world imo A complete remake would be sweet though
welp, gotta get this ready *takes up flame shield* I think Legendia's soundtrack, while not bad, is a tad overrated by the fans. Go Shiina's style just does not fit a fantasy-themed RPG that well. it does work in a post-apocalyptic hunting game, though. Really, Legendia's soundtrack would be fine if it didn't sound artificial. Don't get me wrong as a whole it's fine, but there are tracks that I really hate for various reasons. the OST versions of Seeking Victory and Battle Artist. Did we really need an artificial pie hat in a battle theme? it makes it sound too scifi if you ask me. Thankfully they're saved by the game versions, which are actually pretty good, even if Battle Artist gets old since it's the only normal battle track in the game, especially with how bs the encounter rate is. Chasing Shirley. On its own, it's a pretty good music piece to listen to. but does it need to play 7 times? no wait, scratch that, *NINE* times, if you're counting the fact it's the dungeon theme for one or two dungeons. Seriously, not even the sad theme (I forget what it's called) from Tales of the Abyss plays that often. The Birds Chirp, I sing. Probably the worst track in a Tales game. why is there Afrikaans-like chanting a game that's based on European fantasy?
Stop. Just stop GiordanDiodato.. Your constant whining and bashing on Legendia's Soundtrack on every video that I've seen from you is extremely annoying.. There is nothing wrong with the soundtrack. It's fine the way it is. If you have a problem with the fans liking and praising this soundtrack, then that's all on you, not them.. I don't know why are you still continuing to bash on this ost, but this has got to stop.. You need to grow up and move on already.. It's been years and It's getting really tiring at this point..

the dungeons look great, but are a pain to complete thanks to the random encounters.
