8:40: Cheerios are gluten-free now. Oats are naturally gluten-free, but it took until recently for General Mills to develop a technology to remove the wheat contamination that happens in fields and processing to make gluten-free oats cheap enough to be commercially-viable for Cheerios. [Gluten-free oats have been available for decades, they were just wildly expensive since they needed pure seed, can't be grown in fields where wheat has been grown in the recent past, and needed much more stringent processing.]
Cheerios is not tested to ensure consistent low levels of gluten in order to be certified gluten free and is not safe for ppl with celiac or wheat allergies.
@angelariedle5030 They had some incidents and reported reactions early on, and some people are sensitive to it beyond the 20ppm standard. They're a minority of coeliacs, though, and my mother, who has coeliac, eats Cheerios quite often without issue. As with any food product, it's a matter of managing risk and understanding how your specific body responds to it, but blanket statements like "Cheerios aren't safe for coeliacs" are misinformed and dangerous, since many of people with it are able to eat them without issue. It's a multi-factorial problem. Some people react to lower concentrations, some people are sensitive to related, non-gluten compounds in oats, and some people have had contaminated boxes. Truly, there are no 100% safe processed products out there, and it's all about managing personal risk. At the end of the day, if a product glutens you, don't try it again. Trust your body!
@mpbx3003 I have not heard about the processing of the oats for cheerios changing recently so if so that's great. Of course it's a spectrum but in the past bc cheerios was endorsed by the celiac foundation many ppl misunderstood that for saying it is safe for all with celiac and didn't look into it more. Some ppl with celiac don't have reactions but that also doesn't mean that it's not damaging their intestines if they are exposed to cross contamination, that is why I would caution anyone with celiac. My partner is an extremely sensitive celiac and has not been able to eat cheerios without feeling sick.
Thanks for not being too harsh on these. For those of us who cannot or choose not to consume sugar, these are a pretty good product. If the choice is between no cereal and Magic Spoon I'd probably choose magic spoon most of the time.
The Blueberry scented character’s name was, actually, Blueberry Muffin! And Paul, the octopus, used to predict World Cup winners. He died, like, 14 years ago.
Blueberry Morning cereal is was incredible when I was a kid. My family never had it but my best friend always had it and I love going over there to eat it! 😂
I appreciate this so much! I've been on the fence about buying this product specifically for the blueberry option. Thank you for your honesty. (the price point is daunting also)
My older son who is a very healthy eater loves magic spoon cereal but it’s too expensive so I send it to him periodically. My younger son is still in college and never buys milk so I send him the cereal bars and he says they are fire.
I will definitely try these and take your suggestion. As has been said for kind of difficult for me to understand because of the sound quality. But I love you, girls! All of you
This is great for those of us who are too cheap to pay $9 for a box of cereal that we might not like. Have you considered trying all the Off Limits cereals next?
Ooh they should give a magic color changing spoon like they used to in “sugar” cereal boxes. Would make the fact it has no sugar be a little less of an insult and suit the name. I really miss those cereal toys. My kids are missing out on fighting over them! There’s one tea brand that still gives a little figurine I think
I fell for this brand years ago before it was in stores and it's still double the price of most cereal. And strangely enough it's actually no better for you than most cereal is. They did an article about it a couple years ago. I was actually on their site and if you order her so much you get discounts and what not. The coolest thing I ever got from magic spoon was an iridescent cereal spoon I use every time I eat cereal. The cereal was okay, but like I said double the price of most cereal at over $10 a box it's insane.
Oats are often cross- contaminated with gluten bc of the way it's grown and cheerios brand has never tests to ensure a certain low amount to be certified gluten free.
Maybe bring some scissors with you when you know you are opening all of those bags on camera? And could you say the flavors after you taste, before you start the new one, just for us with bad memories that can’t remember what you said at the beginning? I alway like your rankings, you are all so genuine and honest, it’s refreshing.
I know I'm late to the scene, but let me try to explain net carbs-- to figure out the carbs in food, labs generally determine the amount of protein, fat, water, etc., then subtract that from the weight of the food to get carbs. The trick is that some of that weight is things like fiber, sugar alcohols, and allulose that your body can't use and doesn't absorb. So in order to calculate the actual stuff your body is using, you have to subtract all those things from the total carb weight. I believe in other countries these things are measured differently, but that's how it works in the US. For folks observing certain diets, they'll compare net carbs to the fat and protein content, since they're aiming for certain percentages. For instance, most diabetics find that their blood sugar spikes less if they have protein to balance out the carbs. But net carbs doesn't take into account proteins or fats, just "carbs" their body can't use.
I get an insane amount of email ad spam of Magic Spoon, been wondering of these. Outside of Honey Nut Cheerios on occasion, i am just not much of a cereal eater for breakfast. More of an eggs or peanut butter on toast breakfast eater 😅
I spent way too much money on the fruity flavor 2 years ago and it tasted horrible. I wish this brand would offer sample. No way I’m spending $9 on a box to be disappointed again. Like, it was unbearable to eat. I’m so surprised they like these.
When you've been keto long enough you lose a lot of your taste for sugar. So lightly sweetened things are enough. Impressed with your ability to be open minded. I've been keto 7 year's and even I don't like some of these.😊
I wish i liked these. The texture has always been off for me. I've tried liking them more than once. Being newly Diabetic, I'd rather have a small bowl of tall cereal every now and then, then nothing at all.
Same here. Just tried a bowl and couldn’t finish. Box went straight to the trash can. I’m pre diabetic but this stuff is a definite no. I’ll stick to Cheerios and oatmeal.
Cheerios are gluten free by ingredient but not certified gluten free for cross contamination/they don't use gf oats! People with celiac cannot eat oats unless they are certified gluten free because of all the cross contamination in the fields they are grown in.
I have a box of cheerios in my kitchen right now that has GLUTEN FREE on the front and side panel and a celiac disease foundation image on the side. So I feel they are gluten free.
I love sporked but tend to scroll past videos I would otherwise watch, because they’re a little too long (they need to edit out the dead space and time they spend figuring out what they are doing) and poor camera set up. I get the casual set up, that’s fine, but I watch RUclipsrs with WAY better lighting and video/sound quality. Get some cheap mics, and maybe a ring light? These videos are getting over 10k views, they should be higher quality. LOVE YOU SPORKED TEAM!!!
it's regular highly overpriced cereal with sugar substitutes similar to splenda. you're being conned. at 5:41 you're more than likely smelling sugar alcohol full of added chemicals banned in other countries. you're better off eating a sugar cereal. i believe there's a huge difference between natural sugar and added sugar offering undiscovered vitamins and minerals found in fruits. i'd recommend try and only buy foods with mostly or all naturally flavored sugar.
Blueberries by themselves don't really have a taste you really have to cook them down to get their natural sugars out for them to actually taste blueberries
I love this channel but I really wish you guys would up your production quality! A better layout so we can see all the products you’re trying, better sound, etc. Get Rhett and Link to fund upgrading your taste test videos! Please!
I enjoy this channel as well and would watch it regardless but you are right. With all they do you would think they would budget for at least some production instead of a handheld camera.
See I really enjoy the off the cuff feeling of these. It's nice that it's not ridiculously highly produced. I think if they just got a quick editor to add some b roll of the product and maybe some text with the product name it would be great. I dont want it to be extremely produced like a gmm/ mythical kitchen. I like that it just feels like you're sitting with friends trying stuff
You can tell they tried to have a better setting by moving the most recent tests to Justine's house, but it's clear they're trying to do these on no budget whatsoever, maybe as proof of concept and if they do well enough they can have resources allocated like an actual backdrop and maybe an editor to go over it once to clean up the sound. We don't need the highest production values, but it would be nice if mythical gave them ANY resources for these vids.
Forget fruit loops, they lose ALL their flavor into the milk immediately. So after the milk goes down, I’m left chewing flavorless loops. Over rated! Is fruity magic spoon better than Trix, fruity pebbles, Apple Jacks, or captain crunch berries? Because those are the good fruity cereals.
Not to be the absolute worst, but there’s more C0VID spread now than there was in the early part of the pandemic, and pets do still get it. (As one might expect, large-scale unmasking in the middle of an ongoing pandemic has not helped anything.) 🌈✨
I don't think it's the room. These are just off-the-cuff videos, and I assume the sound is being recorded by the cameras. Whereas the ones on Good Mythical Morning are all shot with dedicated, professional sound equipment.
I love the casual, not overly edited style of vids these are. I dont need fancy graphics and jump cuts in every type of vid

Cereal companies need to come up with some sort of ziplock already.
They totally should, but probably never will because it forces consumers to go buy more when the cereal goes stale.
Yes, ziplock packaging for cereal makes sense. Why the hell do socks have ziplock packaging, for cryin'out loud??
A lot of off-brand cereals with those big bags can close. Ditch the boxes already and give us just the bag and make it ziplock.
Gwynedd's shirt is the perfect shirt of a magic spoon taste test. It's totally that brand's vibe
Thanks for not being too harsh on these. For those of us who cannot or choose not to consume sugar, these are a pretty good product. If the choice is between no cereal and Magic Spoon I'd probably choose magic spoon most of the time.
See, I’ve been meaning to try it to make getting protein in the morning even easier, so I’m excited there were some good ones!
I'm loving Ariana on these videos. Her dry sense of humor is right up my alley, and that smile lights up the room. Keep it up, Ariana!

Okay!
“On the pricey side” I’d say so. I’ve seen those for like $8 for quite a small box
Yeah, but as an adult, a box of cereal lasts me 2 weeks.
@@lant7123 and that’s fine, depending on how much a person would eat at a time

Oh my god, I haven't thought of Strawberry Shortcake and her friends in *forever.*
The sweeteners that diabetics and people doing keto can eat are called natural sugars. Monkfruit, allulose, erythritol, stevia etc.
My older son who is a very healthy eater loves magic spoon cereal but it’s too expensive so I send it to him periodically. My younger son is still in college and never buys milk so I send him the cereal bars and he says they are fire.

Ariana sporting that amazing GMM merch! *edit - Finding out Ariana does not like chocolate. 😂🤣

Omg Ariana shirt is fantastic 😂😂😂😂😂
I've had all but blueberry and birthday cake, and there isn't a bad Magic Spoon, imo. Cinnamon Roll was my fave. 5 minutes in milk and still crunchy.
I love how we feel like we are all just hanging out. 🎉🫶
$8.75 a box at Walmart.
I cannot justify that much for a cereal.

The price tastes better with almond milk.
You should do seven Sundays oat cereal line next

11:35 The best tasting healthy alternatives to conventional sugar are 1. Xylitol & 2. Erythritol. Xylitol tastes the closest to sugar.

She was Blueberry Muffin.
