I’ve not heard from Simon in a long time. What I really like about his videos is that he really gets into the weeds of it all. He gets into the trenches. Not just broad ominous hints and/or clues to make you buy an online program. Awesome guest, thanks Raelan
Loved this video ! I have huge respect for Simon He’s so genuine and although already very knowledgeable ,is always keen to learn more Great that he gives away so much free stuff too
Yes. I too have always operated from a place of fear. It comes, I think, from not having very nurturing parents (because they were under a lot of stress themselves). And then not being able to acquire emotionally supportive relatives or friends. It is difficult to move into a place of trust if your experiences contradict it. We have to become a good, nurturing parent to ourselves. And to be on our own side, especially when everyone else is not. We have been running on empty for all our lives.
@pmw3839 sorry to hear that. You're right- we do need to not ourselves and I definitely know about running on empty. Finding your own tribe can take time and effort. Hope you find yours...
Raelan I can’t thank you enough for all that you do. You are the best interviewer I have come across, letting the person speak and giving them that space. ❤
Great interview. So much good stuff. Simon is a lovely person and shares so much good info for free abt recovering💜💙💚The fact that anybody gets themselves well from this illness still blows my mind.
Thank you both, Raelan add Simon. I had to take a break has the interview was a bit long for me but I did find it easy to follow. I'll be looking up your RUclips channel, Simon. I feel I'm ready for this. I also started feeling unwell in 1997 and crashed in 99. It's been a downward spiral but I think although my symptoms are still very strong that I've hit the bottom and finding my way up. God bless you both
Thank you both for such a brilliant interview. I have learned something new and valuable yet again from listening to Simon. Currently having MBR sessions with Simon and finding this technique and process a very valuable tool with many lightbulb moments and insights! I’m learning to really incorporate these tools into my day to day life in a very concrete way that I haven’t been able to manage previously, this with Simon’s expert and compassionate guidance 🙏🏼
@francescawollen983 thanks for your kind words. It was great doing the interview with Raelan, who is nothing short of a superstar! It's been great working with you and loving seeing all the shifts/breakthroughs that you're making.
@BennyBoy925 thanks for your feedback. glad you appreciated the tips and that you're going to use them. You are very welcome. Wishing you and everyone well on your recovery.
Thank you both, great interview. Can't wait to check out your stuff, Simon! I feel hope that I might one day have some energy to do the things I love and see the people I want to see
@@MECFSExplored to be honest, Simon, after all these years of suffering and all these years of searching for the answers I have come to the conclusion that we’re only now doing what Buddhist monks have been doing for thousands of years. My recovery started when I thought to myself one day….can you imagine a monk getting CFS? No. Therefore I will be (as best I can be) a monk.
I have not understood if Simon is Fully recovered. Can you live a normal life without restrictions or you have to be careful? That us the impression I have from the interview. Full recovery for me means to able to live without be in danger to relapse and have to be careful. Choosing not to push is another thing but can you push through without complications?
@ΔέσποιναΚουρέτση-ξ4χ thanks for your question. My recovery certainly wasn't a straight line - there were ups and downs - largely due to things I talked about in the interview; i.e. not being good at sitting with emotions. I did reflect that I did talk a lot about overdoing it, et cetera.. I think I wanted to get across that sometimes that still happens at times still push myself. The important thing, as I mentioned in the interview, is it doesn't result in a relapse, as I've recovered: I no longer experience the debilitating physical and mental exhaustion and myriad of symptoms. I don't have to be careful. I do take care of myself: eat well most of the time, exercise, get early nights most of the time (still like to party!), as I know that is what I need to thrive and I love waking early, rather than than staying up (which I used to do all the time - even before ME/CFS, and was often hitting the snooze alarm. Now I never need to hit the snooze alarm Hope that makes sense. I meant to say in the interview that I have a physical injury currently which has slowed me down and so I can't play tennis, but I hope to get back to that soon. Life is great and I wake up wanting to get up and greet the day!
@@MECFSExplored thanks for your answer. Could I also ask about your symptoms? Did you have POTS and orthostatic intolerance? Dizziness, fainting? Heat intolerance? Or you had only the fatigue side? Also why do you think some people never get this disease even if they push hard their whole life? Personally I am the only one with long covid-me/cfs/pots in my surroundings. My parents, sisters, friends, people I know have no idea about this disease. They get covid and vaccines and recover in some days, I am disabled 3 years now.
@@ΔέσποιναΚουρέτση-ξ4χ so sorry to hear that. My symptoms included dizziness all overall muscle weakness, digestive issues, . I probably had mild pots. I did feel like headed at times.. I love heat but I was very sensitive to cold. If I got a chill just for a few minutes standing outside saying goodbye to someone, I could get fevers and chills for a few days and all over malaise. There are many factors by some people don't get unwell. For example, even in the same family, children can have very different relationships with their parents. One child might have a very strong relationship with one or both parents and another may not. That second child will experience more stress, if they feel overlooked and second best. I'm realising that I was really not good at listening to my body and I'm still learning. Are you saying that symptoms were the result of covid, or perhaps something else?
