Nina Dobrev is on a roll lately! As much as I like her taking over the screens again, I don't understand why she took the comedic/rom-com route, that's all she has been doing lately. I'm not saying she's not good at it, but she was brilliant in TVD with darker, more complex roles. Would love to see her in a drama/tragedy or thriller, I think she would be perfect for a horror role as well.
Indeed she was brilliant in TVD she gave life to what I can recall, at least 4 different characters!

As a young adult cancer survivor I find this movie disturbing and dangerous. People faking cancer for attention or money is a serious problem that effects cancer patients. People who are scammed are less likely to help or believe those truly effected. This movie also shows stereotypes of cancer where the main characters friends drop everything to help her. in reality a lot of people ghost you when you have cancer cus they don’t know how to deal or cannot relate etc close friends even family especially in young adult cancer 15-39 which the main character is in this movie. So this movie is giving people the wrong idea on a lot of levels. I am Sure they had good intentions but it is in poor taste in my opinion.

Elena went to boys bathroom, dates older men at her teen, cries all the time not to mention she whines, married an older man at her teen. Stubborn yet pushy over her besties, she behaves like a queen. Her expression towards Damon is always: 😐,😮, 🙁 I don't know why she was the most loveable character of all time.
Her friends were too forgiving, which gave the impression that selfish middle age single women who act like a teenager can pull sick stunts to get their own way. Terrible idea for a plot. Women deserve better.

I don’t think she will ever play a role as cool as Katherine and Elena and I think producers, directors etc see it hence she is not getting anything good. it IS so unfunny, and not cute or edgy at all the way its being marketed. seems we are of the very few who see that. I guess it matters if youve lost people to cancer or youre so sick of everyone being a snowflake announcing their list of diseases and prescription meds for attention on social media while really sick people are suffering. or if you work in medicine and SEE that everyday like i do... but even if none of these are true, this film and concept are STILL so UNFUNNY
I get she used cancer as a ruse to get her friends to hang out w her, the consequences of once that lie hits and the friendship will either dissolve or attempt to hold while she learns a lesson on dishonesty but she literally could've used anything else to still get the same results.
She took the role because sh's an actor. If she got offered the role to play Hitler....I mean..

I have been a fan of Nina for years, she is very talented, cheerful and sporty.
Sick Girl is sure to be a cool comedy. His latest movies Love Hard ❤and The Out-Laws are very good in my opinion. Action thriller The Bricklayer should also be released this year.

Sounds like a hallmark movie w/ the title. “Sick Girl” just sounds very basic. & w/ a highly known actress named Nina Dobrev, well, I’m not too surprised that she took this role bc sometimes you gotta take terrible roles to earn money or work in a terrible job to earn money. But I will simply pass as using cancer isn’t really funny especially to use on your friends just to hangout w/ you bc they wouldn’t based on real life. I get it’s not real, but come on. The whole concept is terrible.
