I know these are older videos and I’ve watched them a couple of times, and I decided to go with the Chris Akins series based off of your own success. I’ve started a few days ago with my 19 month old lab and she’s doing fantastic. However I feel as thought that some items may be left to interpretation. For example, like a schedule, also how do you know you are really ready to start advancing? I just feel like I will develop lots of questions through out this program and I’m looking for any help I can come by. I do love the way Chris Akins trains his dogs and It’s awesome to see how well rocky is 3 years later!
Man your videos are really good ! Especially the dog training videos. I have a Yellow lab coming next week that’s 8 weeks old. I’m really excited to get started. I also bought the Chris Akins videos- Did Rocky respond to training like Chris says they do ?
Mid Valley Mercenaries Oh, thanks man! I like checking out fellow duck hunters. Especially those I haven't watched at all! I've got some stuff to watch this weekend. I also shoot my still camera in 1080/60/Medium and my head cam is in wide view.
Mid Valley Mercenaries Question about your dog training vids. My dad has a lab, about 5 months old. Did you buy Akin's DVD set? Got a link? I'm thinking I may want to buy it for him if you'd recommend it.
Hi, I'm very interested to know if Rocky is an American (Field Line) or English (Show Line) Lab and what Kennel he's from. Thanks in advanced and keep up your great videos!
I really love the vids man keep it up. Also what kind of dog is Rocky. Is he an American or English Lab. Also I was looking to get another dog and was wondering who Rocky’s breeder was?
I'm having trouble finding books or videos for training other types of hunting dogs like fox boar squirrel Coons and deer do you know if anywhere I could find something
Honestly man I’d only throw like 4 retrieves for Rocky. Obviously I wanted to do more than that but the goal is to leave them wanting. When they get older you can go a long time for sure
Mid Valley Mercenaries last night I had him actually retrieving a bumper i was so impressed with him being 5 weeks he also jumps on a small platform about 8 inches I’m guessing as long as he’s having fun it’s alright I don’t want to over work him
Lisa Parker when he was a pup twice a day about 1/2 -1 cup each time. I went by what the bag said for his weight. Now as an adult he gets 2-3 cups a day 1 time around 5pm
Man these videos are great! Getting my puppy in 5 weeks and I’m gonna use your videos and Chris Akin’s videos to help me along the way!
Good luck!
Hes doing great. Best Dad award!
Thanks! Lol. Stop U make me blush

These videos are the best training vids out there thank you
Appreciate that man!

Hi, I'm very interested to know if Rocky is an American (Field Line) or English (Show Line) Lab and what Kennel he's from. Thanks in advanced and keep up your great videos!
Yess I love it awesome
I love your puppy
Going to be a great dog.
Thanks!
On the green wing teal do you just keep it in the fridge or put it in freezer then thaw it out when its time to train with it?
Freezer than thaw for training. Fresh is better if possible though
Like the hat
Nor Cal Outdoors Thanks!
I really love the vids man keep it up. Also what kind of dog is Rocky. Is he an American or English Lab. Also I was looking to get another dog and was wondering who Rocky’s breeder was?
ChickenFrenzy 909 thanks. He is more English than American lab. Registered akc. Breeder is not doing it anymore
How'd you get Rocky to not eat his check cord all the time? My 14 week old black lab loves rope and I cannot get her off of it when i put it on.
He didn’t do it much but he just quit
I'm having trouble finding books or videos for training other types of hunting dogs like fox boar squirrel Coons and deer do you know if anywhere I could find something
Sorry I don’t
Damn that’s gonna be a good dog my dog won’t bring shit back but only 3 months old lol. When she’s 6 month im going to pay to get her trained
Haha! Thanks. But hey man check out that DVD I talk about I have the link in the description. It might make you wanna train her yourself.
Is this a guid on how to do it
Are those real ducks and if they are how do you preserve them
I know this video is old but is that teal a real one that has been taxidermied or what is it?
Just a real from that days hunt
They grow up so fast....😭
Lol. I know
Lol. I know
I know you posted this a while ago but what should I do if my dog doesn’t bring it back to me
Keep a 30ft. Check cord on him/her until they consistently bring it back
Mid Valley Mercenaries thank you so much he is a little behind because I didn’t have the equipment
Can I teach my 3 year old pitski to retrieve
do you play fetch with him everyday or do you wait about 2-3 days ?
Really not on a schedule. But it def doesn’t hurt at all to not play everyday. Leave them wanting rather than overdoing it.
okay because i will play with fetch w mine and then he just slowly loses interest. i guess i will stop after like 8-10 retrieves?
Honestly man I’d only throw like 4 retrieves for Rocky. Obviously I wanted to do more than that but the goal is to leave them wanting. When they get older you can go a long time for sure
are you using treats at all during training?
I really only used them when I taught him to sit and kennel.
are the ducks stuffed that u use?
No they’re not
You need to put that dog on a leash he’s attacked me twice at del haha jk
Keep up the good stuff
HAHA! Now I’m really gonna wonder who you are
Mid Valley Mercenaries Yep seems we frequent the same quack house.
You’re never in my spot tho so we’re good for now haha.
Mr. Green Head 👍🏼
Can you train my yellow lab Bailey!?!? LoL
Sure
Between 10-12 week pup how long to you train him?
Serious training starts at 6 months according to Chris akin
I just got my lab he’s 5 weeks when should I start training him
You can start crate training right away and how to sit
Mid Valley Mercenaries last night I had him actually retrieving a bumper i was so impressed with him being 5 weeks he also jumps on a small platform about 8 inches I’m guessing as long as he’s having fun it’s alright I don’t want to over work him
That’s awesome! Ya exactly, keep it fun
Hey there, any way I can message you and ask a couple questions just got a dog love your videos
Mcgehee Porter Thanks! Ya no prob.
Midvalleymercenaries@gmail.com
How much do you feed him daily?
Lisa Parker when he was a pup twice a day about 1/2 -1 cup each time. I went by what the bag said for his weight. Now as an adult he gets 2-3 cups a day 1 time around 5pm
Is 9 months too old to train a lab?
