Not as good as the Skydio 2 for tracking, but still better than most drones. Great testing, and this drone takes beautiful video.
Even skydio will fail in those
Skydio does track you and won't lose us at most of the times but the footage it takes when tracking, you can't use that foortage for sure for any thing.
It just tracks
You can use a lot of the footage but it will take editing to cut out the unstable parts🍻

U got 30 min flight time doing slow flying, thats 65% of the advertised 46min. The mavic 3 actul fligh time without out bull is 41 min max

This is the easiest I have ever seen you be on an active track video. It still struggled. I sent mine back. I was very disappointed in it. Autel Evo 3 is what I want to see.
Hi Dustin, I just bought a Mavic air 2 and had a question whose answer I am yet to find. Hope you can help me.
Is it fine to keep the propellors fitted to motors all the time like when drone is in storage & use a aftermarket straps for them, or should I fit & remove them after each flight ?
Please help me with your experienced advice, because I live in India and owning a drone here is quite an expensive hobby and I certainly don't want to damage my quad by improper handling.

Keeping them on is fine as long as drone is stored without propellers being bent by other objects when stored 🍻

@@SameersReviewRoom its completely fine to store with the props on. I store my drones like that, longest i stored was 7 months. Took it out, flew, no issues

Active Track = the mode for Narcicists :-) I recall years ago, when you first got your XK X380, you were trying to talk me into buying one, and I said I thought it was too expensive at $300+ . Now, we have UAVs that cost $3000 !! I suppose if you're a professional, and need an Inspire , that is justifiable ... but $3000 is way more than I paid for my 1st brand new car (a Ford Pinto .. ha ha). Glad you're back to being GREEN. Right now, in NE Ohio, we are WHITE ... about 2 FEET of snow last night. Hey, plan a 'waypoint' mission for the Mavic to fly up to the Observatory there on Maui ... ! Mahalo!

The battery life is very disappointing after seeing the 46 minutes advertised. Most I got was 34 minutes.
When your flying under trees make sure your settings for minimum ft off the ground is set low like 4ft off the ground.
It will fly under the trees better.
And be careful it will hit pawer lines.

I have the Mini 2 and watching how close this thing was getting to trees and such made me a nervous wreck! Seems like the software isn’t ready for prime time. I’ll probably upgrade from my Mini 2 in a couple years when a new Mavic comes out.

Hi all! Be more attentive to the message where scammers write on behalf of the author of the channel on this and other channels and report that you have won something. Then they inform you that you need to choose the method of delivery of the prize and the need to pay for the delivery, if using PayPal, then they will definitely ask you to make a money transfer as a "friend or family" so that you can not return your money later. They send you a parcel number tracker and a fake carrier, and ask you to urgently pay the fee for your parcel to a fake carrier company, and again ask you to send money as a "friend or family." Be careful!
Everyone else has had the drone following the subject while holding the remote...u the first 1 I've found who did what I needed to see which is drone following a subject who isn't holding the remote. Thank u.
DO NOT BUY ANY DJI DRONES if you have an android phone running android-12, the the go 4 app does not work and hasn't since September 21, basically turned my drone into a very expensive paper weight.....
Mhh I have Android 12 and everything works for me. what phone do you have? The app crashes sometimes but otherwise I have no problems
Download the APK from DJI's website. That worked just fine for me.

Really good video, I enjoy every video you have. You can also use target scan feature in the m3 settings. It scans any moving objects for you and it's more easy to do just tab any moving objects and it starts following.

Hi Dustin! Great video as usual. Still waiting to get the Mavic 3. I just mainly plan on using it for night video, so I'm really concerned about the disconnect issues I've read in RUclips & other forums but these are mostly with the RC-Pro controller; I'll be using the RC-N1 controller with my Asus ROG 5 gaming phone (Android 11). If disconnects are my only worry, do you think the previous firmware to this one is the better one to stick with? Thanks in advance!
I honestly never had a disconnect issue in any of my tests so far. I can only speak for myself though 🍻
The disconnects seem to effect only some hardware out there. Those folks need to exchange the RC Pro, NOT the Aircraft. I fly every day since November unless weather is bad. Never a single disconnect over 330 flights. People need to learn what WARRANTY means, and don't let DJI wiggle out of it. EXCHANGE THE RC PRO if you're getting disconnected. BlairAir out.
Oh.. And Night video is insanely good. Outshines my Evo 2 Pro, in most parameters. Both are good, I probably only need one of these but hey.
Most of the DJI updates have to do with the camera. I don’t really care about the higher camera settings what I wish DJI would do is update some of the flight actions. How about waypoints that can be set up before flights? Even some of the cheaper drones have waypoints that can be set before takeoff. I enjoy your reviews and have learned a lot from them and always look forward to the next video that you post.
DJI no longer seems to allow waypoints with their consumer drones. You'll need to try aftermarket apps but they will void warranty if something happens while using them 🍻

Dustin why is there always like a light ghosting on the shadow of the drone when is proyected on the ground ? at 13:59 and 14:16

It used to be called a glory .. as it happened at the tops of hills , your shadow would be cast down on water vapor and the sun light creates a sort of magnifying glass effect . It's very subtle but still visible in the shots where the sun is directly behind the drone ..
Another great relevant review, Dustin have you considered doing some filming where the lava flows either on land or on the coast?
I'd like to but they are extremely restricted areas and national parks unfortunately 🍻

Noticed DJI still have issues, with the display button spacing: the 'active track' button consistantly hides the speed and distance data!

Have you ever tracked subject further than this from remote??
Dji's tracking doesn't.seem to work well more than 50 feet away for people. Vehicles seem better since they're larger 🍻
The distance from subject has been lamented by a number of reviewers. I am of the opinion that they rushed the planned January FW out to boost Christmas sales. It still needs work. I expect improvements.
Also DJI: Satellite acquisition time? Let's get on the ball! 💪
I believe Blair means (as I've shown in this video) movement tracking distance is limited to closer range than expected 🍻

Once I see the other 3's they may release in April and get all the bugs worked out, this may be a possibility. I film wildlife and this zoom is incredible and would be ideal.

An insta 360X2 cam is great for close proximity and you can select your shot angles afterwards but clarity will suffer compared to a point and shoot cam like action 2 or similar 🍻

Active Tracking is much improved over previous DJI models for sure. Front tracking is disappointingly limited (needing to be to close to the subject) compared to the Skydio. Would love seeing how good the tracking would be at twice the speed. I imagine more issues less accuracy.

beacon (as a tool for following drone pilot) is not synced with most drone regulations on the planet, requesting permanent vlos with a drone, even in automatic flight (so it can e terminated in every second manually). probably this a first reason for it, since dji want to be most legally viable/safe from all manufactures. i'm not saying it is not a cool gadget, but this is how it goes..

Dustin, you used the “MasterShots” option but then neglected to show the end results??? Also, it would have been nice to use/do different features/subjects (aimed more toward earth than clouds) when testing the “Hyperlapse” features. Your tracking test was good, but a little too much time spent on the same tracking/condition/subject&area. Would have been nice if you tried tracking a vehicle or at the beach tracking a surfer instead of just your daughter on the same heavily tree lined path. I’m sure tracking would have been more interesting and more accurate if you would have done that.

Could you respond to this? I just got the mavic and for some reason it’s like they stopped working on it and started working on the mavic 2. The mavic hardly flies 150 away from me and glitches. My friend has the 2 and it has no problems. Could you help?
try going to the transmission tab in the app, then choose 5.8 ghz and set the channel selection to auto
