Two of the many reasons why I enjoy your reviews is because your range tests are real range tests and second is because you change the settings to Imperial whenever possible. Thumbs up for another great review.
I missed the high quality of these reviews. So hyped for the maiden flight and park review. Big bonus for the SD card. Great job Autel. Keep em comin' Dustin. Glad you are well.
SOOOOO glad you got one of these to review!! You're one of my favorite drone reviewers, and I'm thinking about getting one. Please do one of your range tests on this! Those are probably my favorite videos of yours. Lol.
I just got my new Autel Evo II Pro 6K drone today, so I came looking for Dustin's unboxing video, knowing he would give me the best advice. I've been flying a DJI Mavic 2 Pro and a Mavic Pro, so this will be a big change for me. I'm still keeping my other drones as backup.
Dustin, as always, an excellent in-depth unboxing and setup. I have the Autel EVO 2 Pro, and I absolutely love it. I think you will be impressed with the video quality (still photos & video). I am not sure why your video transmission is so choppy. My displays (phone and controller) are almost instantaneous. Great to see you back again...I am always looking for the next notification. P.S. I got 9 km on my range test over the farmlands of Kansas (very little WiFi interference)😃🛩....
Here in Europe those of us who use the evo 2 / Pro are eager for your videos, we await your tests with the flight modes. A greeting from Spain On my RUclips channel I have several tests with the Autel Evo 2 Pro
Okay, finished all of the firmware updates and tested the video lag between the drone and the cellphone (Samsung Galaxy S9+, latest version Android). The lag everybody was complaining about months ago, seems to be gone now. I couldn't detect any lag in my hand movements (did the same test Dustin did in this video), unlike Dustin's results. 12:55am now, so I'll wait until daylight to go fly in a large empty field. Since I'm proficient with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and others, hopefully my learning curve will be confined to learning the Autel Explorer app and settings.
I can’t wait to see the range test. I have watched several other reviews and one got out to 5.6 miles, while another got out to 4.8, then upgraded the antenna and got 5.2 before video started dropping out. I want one - but I picked up the following on other reviews that I hope they will improve on: -no dynamic home point -must enter menus to update home point or change flight mode -failsafe return to home will land in place if: there is no gps signal and remote signal is lost for 3 seconds -creeps to the left in fast ludicrous mode -no way to calibrate imu manually -software upgrade lowered ‘normal’ speed -must use live deck or litchi to run goggles.
Wow Dustin, what a great in depth review. Very interesting aircraft and features. Looking forward to seeing your next review. Great to see you back my friend. Best wishes:)
Dustin Dunnill welcome. Also, thought I’d share... was re watching your Mavic 2 Pro part 2 video yesterday and 12min 53sec’s in - my name popped on your iPad screen. Was like omg 😆 lol. Best wishes George.
Well you definitely sold me on this drone I was going to get the Maverick 3 when it came out for my second drone cuz I'm getting into aerial photography but in hearing about this and now seeing what you showed me today and all the features this is my next purchase before I get like an Inspire 2 or something like that but this is definitely my next drawing purchase thank you for the videos very detailed I really appreciate it thank you look forward to more videos on this drone
Great Video Dustin! I think I’m going to purchase the Autel Evo 2. Do you know who has the best prices? Looking forward to your next video on the flight and range test. BP
I've had mine for about 3 months now with a total flight time for 30 minutes... It's a great drone but with regulations it's very hard to fly in peace. I do miss the golden age of drone with was back in 2015
"Hey honey where is my candy-cane pointer? I'm about to shoot a video." ❤️ u man! She's a big airship, I bet it'll fly well. Looking forward to the county rage test, no doubt!
Such a long time since you uploaded a video. I was really waiting for the mavic air 2 active track 3.0 test and the new fimware update review about the new zoom function. Please consider doing the video.
Hey Dustin nice video. I have the Evo 2 Pro 6K. Just a tip: flip the type C connection around at the phone to run the cable between the antennas so it's out the way of your fingers 👍🏽
Oh there you are Dustin was wondering when you would be back haha 🤙🏼 mahalos from the Big Island.. Did you ever retrieve your mavic pro 2 from that waterfall yet ?
Omg, I was expecting this review. Cuz I have started to save for the Mavic Air 2 and could not decide when I saw the Evo II. It seems to me now I have to wait for the next vid. and hope to be not falling in love with Evo II cuz I don't wanna save until mid-2021 to afford one.
Thank you for this video! I’ve been on the fence for a few months between buying the Magic Air 2 & the Evo 2. Almost pulled the trigger on the Air 2 last night, especially after the recent firmware release. However, being relatively new at flying, the all around obstacle avoidance is appealing. Just not sure it’s worth an additional $800. I believe the bright orange color would make the drone easier to see in the sky over the Mavic grey. I look forward to your next video. Hope you speak to stability in comparison to that of DJI. Decisions, decisions...
Mahalo. Great review video. I have the EVO 2 Pro. Been using for a couple of months. I have the 2.5 firmware update and so far my drone is flying fine. Some users are having drifting and other issues. Don't know why but hopefully Autel is coming out with a fix soon. I'm still not confident enough to fly this drone over water yet.
Good job with this video I like both of them for sure !!! I wish evo would come out with a smart controller just like dji did it would be smart of them to !!
Thanks for the very helpful vid. Something I haven't figured out... after I download video files should I delete them in my computer or is there an option in the Explorer app to erase the card's files or to reformat the card after reinstalling the card into the drone?
I bought one of these after having 2 DJI drones. Once I realized DJI drones were severely restricted as to where they can fly (and every update restricted them even more) and that every flight was monitored, I decided I didn't want the Chinese government watching me and controlling what I did with MY drone. The Autel Evo 2 fly's great, it's flight time is awesome, and the picture quality is superb and nobody is monitoring what you do and there are no MANDATORY updates. The more time that goes by the more restrictions DJI will build into their drones. My Autel will never have those restrictions unless I choose to add them. There is no complicated preflight procedure like on my DJI. I never have to do the calibration dance with the Evo. It's fast and the obstacle avoidance is very good. There is almost no way you can crash this drone. It's a lot bigger and heavier than the DJI's but the huge batteries compensate for the added weight. I am sure the DJI drones are a bit more sophisticated but if you don't want your drone to stop moving and land by itself because it has entered a "restricted area" then get the Autel. No kidding when your DJI gets close to a "restricted area" a female Chinese voice alerts you that the drone is going to land itself unless you back off. Before all the FAA fanboys comment on flying where you want let me say that I am in central Florida. Disney, who has lots of clout, has managed to get a no fly zone established over 10 miles from the actual park. Poor saps that live in that area and buy a DJI can't even fly it in their own back yard. The Evo 2 goes where you tell it to go with no restrictions other than you using your common sense. I'm not advocating flying over the local airport so an understanding of the rules is important. Bottom line they should rename this drone the Autel Freedom 2 drone.
I had the same problem, I couldn't even get my DJI Spark to take off at my house , I'm to close to a restricted zone. I got around the problem by buying a NO LIMIT DRONEZ LICENSE, and down loading their app . It will over ride the restrictions . Now I can fly anywhere. You have to remove the DJI app because it interferes with the No Limit Dronez app . The NLD license costs about $50.00 , but it really works . There's a million more adjustments that you can make also . Take a look at it !
Im debating between EVO 2 and DJI Air 2 aside from ability to change cameras which one will you invest? Looking for good camera, distance, ability to pre program flight around the house and good obstacle avoidance.
Same 2 drones im debating. Im going with Autel. Im going to eventually use it for weddings/parties/ real estate shoots. Just knowing im not restricted and grounded when I want to take off is a selling point in its own for me.
What drone flies to the promised flight time specification shown on their packaging ? None that I'm aware of. The Evo 2 is the same, it doesn't get 40 minutes, more like 28 to 33 minutes, depending on battery settings and mission flown. But this is still good compared to other fold up drones.
Hi Dustin. As always, a very complete review. The one thing that was VERY disappointing to me (as an Evo 1 owner) is that they didn't seem to address the RC's poor antenna system. On the Evo 1, those RC antennas are very prone to breakage, even when handled with 'kid gloves'. The pin, which allows the antennas to fold was made of plastic on the Evo 1, and it broke easily, many times with the plastic around it. You know how careful I am, and even mine broke, but I was able to fix them myself (other guys had to send their RC back for repair). Perhaps you'll have greater "usable zoom" in 8K mode. With my 4K Evo 1, I've found that zooming beyond 3X gives you pretty lousy video ... usable, but not great. We'll keep an eye open for your future reviews. I've heard that the Covid situation is pretty rough on HI .. perhaps on the main island and not on Maui where you live. Not bad at all here in very rural NE Ohio. Mahalo ...
I'd probably use the zoom mainly for realtime zooming while flying. Covid got bad on Oahu and now Big Island, we'll see if labor day gatherings bring back a spike. Stay safe. I worry about the elderly and those with health conditions 🤙
Unless you need to use the digital zoom in real time, with 8k (or 6k on the Pro model) you are better off taking video footage and then cropping in editing production. The higher resolution of this drone camera allows you to crop & zoom with loss of resolution to 4k or 1080i.
I love how you explain and test, I'm still a little hesitant, When a person pays 2100 dollars, it just makes a person that is new ,flying Drones a little caushes, Thank you for, helping me refresh my mind, What editing program do you like to use, That part seems very confusing for me, if you could suggest a program that might be easier for a person like me, Thank you Brother. Sincerely your freind from Mo and God bless you and your family
Hi, What can you tell me about the geofencing feature (NFZ) inserted on the firmware of the EVO 2 V3, that work in a "advisory" mode now with pop windows warning you about restricted areas, but can go to "mandatory" at any time preventing flying like DJI's drones?. Thanks
This is what I want to know as well. It’s the only reason I won’t buy communist dji drone. What happens if you have no cell service or the apocalypse finally kicks off, or a building is burning and someone is stuck on the roof and you want to drop off a rope or snack. No one needs a Chinese company telling them what they can and can’t do. Slippery slope. You see how much control and subsequent lose of freedom WeChat has created. We don’t need any of that garbage in a America.
I have the original Autel Evo. I bought it to replace my 3DR Solo and GoPro Karma. I’d been using my Evo with a LG G6 Android cellphone. I just switched to iPhone 12 Pro Max. Where I can find a cable or cable adapter to be able to use my Autel Evo with the iPhone 12 Pro Max??? A simple adapter will be able to do the job?
You don't need an adapter. The "square tipped/ Rectangular tipped" cables that Autel uses are directly replaceable with micro-usb. Just get a controller cable with Micro-usb to lightning.
It's funny, the top of the line, best in class, most expensive drones out there still don't make a controller as practical and well thought out as the radio for the FIMI X8 SE. I thought more of the bigger names would have started copying it by now. Maybe they just like selling accesories instead? 🤔
seems to be pretty good but i have to admit because of the drone rules here i would only buy a 250g class drone in the future. Hope they will also produce a 250g version
Good to see you back! Been missing your reviews
You're still the G.O.A.T. of reviews my friend! Great job!
Really good to have you back Dustin. It’s been too long, was getting worried. Thanks for sharing.
Two of the many reasons why I enjoy your reviews is because your range tests are real range tests and second is because you change the settings to Imperial whenever possible. Thumbs up for another great review.
Welcome back Dustin, seems like an age. Hope you and the family are all safe.
I missed the high quality of these reviews. So hyped for the maiden flight and park review. Big bonus for the SD card. Great job Autel. Keep em comin' Dustin. Glad you are well.
Looking forward to the flight test! Glad to see you back, Dustin.
Heeeeee's baaaack!! Great review!! I love how in depth you go into every feature!! Cant wait for the next one!!
Nice to see you to do the review of this drone. This drone can force DJI to make cheaper but more powerful products. Wait for your range test!
SOOOOO glad you got one of these to review!! You're one of my favorite drone reviewers, and I'm thinking about getting one. Please do one of your range tests on this! Those are probably my favorite videos of yours. Lol.
Welcome back Dustin! Hope you had a great time with your family 👍
Great review as always 👍
Hi Dustin, glad to see you on here again. Been waiting and hoping you’d get an EVO II. Can’t wait for the flight test.
Welcome back. It’s been a while. Nice to see you’re doing reviews again. 🤙
DJI mavic 2 Pro it's the best?
Dustin, as always, an excellent in-depth unboxing and setup. I have the Autel EVO 2 Pro, and I absolutely love it. I think you will be impressed with the video quality (still photos & video). Been a while Dustin, good to see your video again. Great job. I hope you and your family is safe. Welcome back!!
Great to see you back. Enjoyed the in depth review. Excellent video Dustin!!
Finally another video from the king
I've been waiting for 1 of your videos. Now I'm happy. Good Job 💯👊
Always a pleasure to watch Dustin, you guys be safe. Cheers 🍻
Welcome back stranger!

Very thorough review as always Dustin, congrats on the EVO2.

Good to hear Lee. Yes, if you're familiar with DJI's apps you'll have no problem adapting to the AUTEL app 🍻
I can’t wait to see the range test. I have watched several other reviews and one got out to 5.6 miles, while another got out to 4.8, then upgraded the antenna and got 5.2 before video started dropping out.
I want one - but I picked up the following on other reviews that I hope they will improve on:
-no dynamic home point
-must enter menus to update home point or change flight mode
-failsafe return to home will land in place if: there is no gps signal and remote signal is lost for 3 seconds
-creeps to the left in fast ludicrous mode
-no way to calibrate imu manually
-software upgrade lowered ‘normal’ speed
-must use live deck or litchi to run goggles.
Welcome back bro! Missed your videos. Been waiting for this one.
DZI Camera Quality & Stability Awesome... No lag & Cinematic Footage Too Amazing They capture
Excellent opening review of the evo 2, looking forward to the up coming flights.
Aloha Dustin, really good unboxing, "like allways"". I see you have passed 200,000 subscribers,

Great Video Dustin! I think I’m going to purchase the Autel Evo 2. Do you know who has the best prices? Looking forward to your next video on the flight and range test. BP

Haven't seen ya in awhile! Glad to see you.

I didn't even have to watch to know this would be another great review 😎😎😎
Love your videos man keep it up you’re very detailed oriented. Love it.
Excellent video, as usual. Thanks, Dustin. Missing Maui. Jess
Such a long time since you uploaded a video.
I was really waiting for the mavic air 2 active track 3.0 test and the new fimware update review about the new zoom function.
Please consider doing the video.
Can't wait for the flight test!
Never looked so forward to one before!! I hope its soon!!
DuStIn WhErE hAvE yOu BeEn??? I was waiting for you to review the Autel Evo 2 too!
so long Dustin, its like Your 3rd video this year xD I love how You keep quality over quantity!
can't wait to see you push this one to the limits :)
Love the review! Hope you do detailed comparison between evo 2 pro, mavic 2 pro and air 2 s
Hey Dustin nice video. I have the Evo 2 Pro 6K. Just a tip: flip the type C connection around at the phone to run the cable between the antennas so it's out the way of your fingers 👍🏽
@Babajao W it’s Dustin
@@jalen8841 thanks, typo.
Np
Oh there you are Dustin was wondering when you would be back haha 🤙🏼 mahalos from the Big Island.. Did you ever retrieve your mavic pro 2 from that waterfall yet ?
Not yet 😂🤙
Hi Dustin, great detailed review.
What is the difference between the EVO II Standard (8K) and the EVO II Pro (6K) ? Thanks.
Same exact drone except the 6k has a better (larger sensor) camera. Kind of like what Dji did with Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic 2 Pro 🍻
Cool to have you bud🤙
A tip for your test flights, turn your aerials down pointed to the ground and put your mobile device in aeroplane mode.
Hope you speak to stability in comparison to that of DJI. Decisions, decisions...
Get the mavic air 2 it's way better the evo 2 can have jerky controls and obstacles avodance
Nice video... as usual coming from you.
I have no need for more than fullHD... then my 4G disco and bebop2 are enough for me.
Your vids are so nice
Always the best reviews! 👍 You should have gotten the drone first :)
Good job with this video I like both of them for sure !!! I wish evo would come out with a smart controller just like dji did it would be smart of them to !!
The screen lag is bothering me... let us know if this is an issue when flying
Thanks for the very helpful vid. Something I haven't figured out... after I download video files should I delete them in my computer or is there an option in the Explorer app to erase the card's files or to reformat the card after reinstalling the card into the drone?
Don’t know whether to buy this or wait for the Mavic 3 to come out
You might be waiting until Xmas or early 2021
I like the color...😁!
I bought one of these after having 2 DJI drones. Once I realized DJI drones were severely restricted as to where they can fly (and every update restricted them even more) and that every flight was monitored, I decided I didn't want the Chinese government watching me and controlling what I did with MY drone.
After 11 months have you changed your mind on the EVO II?
I had the same problem, I couldn't even get my DJI Spark to take off at my house , I'm to close to a restricted zone. There's a million more adjustments that you can make also . Take a look at it !
Wasssuuup Dustin. It's been a while. Aloha and enjoy ur Evo. I love mine ;)
Finally lol - Thanks Dustin. As always, no one holds a candle to you and that pen.
Hay bud I no busy but are we getting part 2. Just checking in because I look forward to watching your videos very informative keep well 🤙😁
Yes, I'm working on finishing the edit for posting part 2 soon 🙂👍
I was wondering where you've been.
Finally 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Im debating between EVO 2 and DJI Air 2 aside from ability to change cameras which one will you invest?
Looking for good camera, distance, ability to pre program flight around the house and good obstacle avoidance.
Same 2 drones im debating. Im going with Autel. Im going to eventually use it for weddings/parties/ real estate shoots. Just knowing im not restricted and grounded when I want to take off is a selling point in its own for me.

Great video!
Like your videos from surat India 👍👍👍👍
I will be looking fwd to purchasing one of these when the controller is improved upon.....
I fly an Evo ll pro
I'm very happy with the controller.
what your seeing here is an OLD model as it has old model blades that can be seen.

I was disappointed with flight times; no where near claimed 40 mins. I couldn't figure out why... then I realized... Stickers! 😳 All good now!
Its a long time that you havent post a drone review
What is the price performance drone you can recommend other than DJI
Is there an tablet bracket you can purchase so you can use a tablet ?
Do the pro version with the 6k 1inch sensor
I have the original Autel Evo. I bought it to replace my 3DR Solo and GoPro Karma. I’d been using my Evo with a LG G6 Android cellphone. I just switched to iPhone 12 Pro Max. Do you have to register with the FAA each drone you get before you test it?
