Is understanding macros too difficult for you? Macros are basically presets that you can configure on your Atem Mini Pro, and you can fade off your music, introduce a lower third and go live all just by clicking one button that you have pre-configured beforehand. It makes your life easier! In this video I will talk about how to create macros on your Atem Mini Pro and is simple to understand as 1-2-3!

You are welcome!
thanks for the video. Can you create macro to switch between cameras say at 20 second intervals? please help
The fade idea is so genius!! Thanks for putting this video together, Steph! Definitely gonna try this - the problem I had with macros was with triggering them without having to touch my laptop/ATEM software control during a live stream. Was looking at some iPad solutions to trigger macros at the touch of a button - any ideas?
Hi Peixin! Thanks for watching the video! Hope it helps in some way to your setup. Yes one of the videos I have lined up for production is "how to use the iPad to increase productivity on the Atem Mini Pro", it should be useful!
Steph Lee Films awesome - looking forward to that!!
Thankyou sir!!!

I am new to the Atem mini pro.....so here is dumb question #1! I understand how you made the macros and its awesome....my question is........so how/where/ when do you use them? How are they executed? Sorry if this question seems primary...but I won't know until I ask! :)
Thanks for showing us how to create a macro but how do you implement them once you’ve made them??
Steph, you are a Master of Clear Descriptions. Thank you for another wonderful instructional video. My question is about file names. When I create a new macro, I give it a name in the Macro dialogue box. When I hit record, execute steps, and click stop, I presume that the macro is now saved. However, in the video, you also suggest clicking File > Save As and naming the macro, but you name the XML file differently than you named the Macro. The Macro is called "Livestream Start" but the XML file is called "Streaming Start." Then, there is Streaming Start ver 2. It is at this point that I'm confused. My questions (not answered in the ATEM documentation) are:
(1) How do XML files (which I can edit by Visual Studio Code) correspond to Macro names?
(2) How do I tell the software that a unique XML file corresponds to a particular Macro name? If I have five different XML files created in Visual Studio Code, how can I map those XML files onto different Macros if I have only one Macro named so far?
Thank you for replying when you have time!
Hi Exeter sorry if that part was confusing. The naming of the XML file can be anything for your own reference. However the important part inside the XML file is the one that corresponds to the macro name. At 6:06 you could see that I named the macro LIvestream start. And at 6:52 line 10 you can see "LIvestream start". I accidentally named it LIvestream instead of Livestream but here’s the fun part cos now you can see where the link comes from! Weird mistake but it turned out useful for our clarification example. I hope this clears your question! :)
Hi Steph. Great Video. Thank you. I'm a beginner with this. Do I need OBS to run FBLive stream from this unit? Or can I just run straight from Mini Pro?
Hi Mathew and welcome to my channel! My videos are filmed in a simple, easy to understand way so I think you should be right at home! No you don’t need OBS or any software to run the Atem Mini Pro, do watch more of my videos and I think you will pick up some valuable information to kickstart your livestream career! Enjoy
Steph Lee Films Thanks Steph. Appreciate your help. And I’m looking forward to more video..
Thanks for the video. Can the pause length be different in each step within a single macro?
Hi John yes it can. You set the pause length yourself for each separate action that you take
Steph Lee Films Awesome. I’ll be programming today for my Thursday stream. Thanks for all the help. Your videos are very helpful.
Steph, sorry to bother you again. I managed to set one macro into the macro tab inside the Atem software. But I cannot set another one. It does not allow me to press + in the create. What might be the problem and how to resolve it? Thanks!
Hi Andrew not at all! As I live in a timezone GMT+8 it might take sometime for me to reply but I always do when I'm awake :)) I just fired up my Atem Mini to test this but it seems ok on my end. The first macro created is the first button, then I clicked on the + sign and the next macro is created to the right of it. I click + again and the next macro is bottom of the first one. What happens when you click + ? No response? Make sure you click on the red record button when you are done with the new macro.
@@StephLeeTech I tried to click on the + sign after the first one was created but the + sign was not highlighted and no response on allowing the second to be created.
