Well maybe after a proper Eastern European wedding you'd change your opinion. Lots of strong liquor, meat, unregulated dancing and, quite possibly, a fight or two.

At the local GW store, there was this awkward kid, that one time celebrated his birthday at the store, because he didn't really have any friends. He didn't even have many friends at the store, because he was telling a lot of lies, and being the rich kid, whos parents showed their love by buying him everything. i got along with him pretty good, and it was a fun multiplayer wargame we had that day.
Don't really know what happened to him, because i moved to a different city a couple months later.
yeah i knew ones like that, its more sad than anything because most of the time the lies are about small things like doing stuff with your parents or whatever because they dont have a normal life..

about the neckbeard - it's why I don't join any store lead RPG games. they have a "nobody refused" policy and I just can't do it. you get a ton of people rejected from other tables.
I disagree with relationship advice w/women a lot on this channel, but sir, you are always spot on when it comes to dealing with other men in friend groups.

Probably a decade and more ago now, my dad’s best friend died suddenly, early 40s, like 42 or something, completely healthy as far as anyone knew. He left behind a 2 year old, 7 year old and a wife. Absolutely gutting. Literally came out of no where.
I know Liverpool is tough, but Baltimore makes it look like Dysney World . . .

I remember back in 2009 I was part of a guild on World of Warcraft for like 3 years. I was broke and had like $20 in my bank account and had $1,000 in debt to my technical college. I was offered a job that was 2nd shift which was our raiding hours.
I told my guild leader and he straight up told me that I had to turn down the job because they needed me for raids. I told him I had to because of my bills and without another word he kicked me from the guild and blocked me from messaging him. This completely made me leave WoW because it wasn’t worth it after spending so much time only to be thrown away
I prime most of my models on a cinderblock and after priming some marines I picked up the block and the side broke off dropping the block and smashing 3 of the 5 models. Couldn’t even glue it back. Just smashed them out of shape
So we've heard you say %90 of the hobby is picking your opponent and who to do it with, but could we get a comprehensive video on how to be a good opponent? There's this kid at my local hobby store that wants to get into 40k and I'm going to talk to his parents about selling them a combat patrol to give him and I want to offer to help him get into the playing side of the the hobby. However I don't play much as it is, especially not with kids. He seems like a good kid though and I want to do my part to get him in and make sure he has a good experience and learns what he should be able to expect and be willing (and what he shouldn't be willing) to tolerate from others players
I was supposed to "audition" to the bride-to-be for the right to be invited to my best friend's wedding. She didn't really like me, and I loathed her. I told her to get bent, and was the only one not at the wedding. Had no intention of going, and certainly not of interviewing for it.
They are divorced now, as she turned out to be exactly the monster I predicted she would be.
I cut that my friend out of my life altogether, and it was over ten years before I saw him again. We are sort of repairing things, but it certainly isn't what it was.
He's the same one who will ditch absolutely everyone in an instant at the first whiff of skirt, too.

The people are the reason I quickly quit the WH40k hobby.
I used to play with a highschool friend for a bit. But that kinda fizzled out at some point. My local GW was quite a ways out, I think I had to travel for just over an hour. But I liked to hobby so I figured the trip would be worth it. Boy... was I in for a surprise. There were some younger nerdy kids which was fine. A bit cringy but that is just kids being kids. But there were also guys who were wayyy too old to take it as serious as they did. 20 to 30 year olds with poor personal hygiene and... lets say poor social skills.
Anyway, I am glad for them that they have a social setting where they can hang out with like-minded people. I'm sure that they unfortunately don't have it easy in most social settings. It's just a bit of a shame that I had to drop my hobby for it.

I've lived around a 90 minute to 2 hour drive from Baltimore for most of my life, except for the years I was in the military, and it would take a literal invasion of the country to get me to ever willingly step foot in that city.

No 100% that cringe lord from the last story could have been autistic, I could see someone with that getting locked on to thought of going to the store for that book and it being all they thought about potentially for days prior so being so very close yet so far to have what you had planned for could cause a melt down. Grabbing at credit cards is also not normal behaviour exactly when you take a step back and look at it.

Sorry but first story had NOTHING to do with a hobby. It was a dude who wanted to vent his feelings.
I enjoy IPAs but I don't huff them just drink them scotch on the other hand I'll sniff all evening. Haven't met a cory worth my time.
As a contrarian and slightly cynical so and so who sometimes doubts these, if you read this comment don't take it to heart, the calling of the "bullshit" that is.
I will be honest I do believe that your recent channel growth has resulted in some oneupmanship and SOME (not a lot, but some) of your mailbag getting "everybody clapped" tall tales or submissions from wannabe writers (the pizza shop one...) creeping in. Ultimately if people are putting down 2K words of a scenario, through this avenue they get to hear something in your voice and will have a ready-made audience of thousands, so I think this is an understandable thing to be happening, it's a better outlet than say reddit. But it is leading to the smelling of said bullshit more regularly.
It's ultimately up to individual people what they believe. I personally believe both of today's stories as presented, but since New Years we have had the rather pretentiously-written and meandering pizza shop character drama, a table flip, an "everybody clapped" moment, and the person who had that perfectly detailed and eloquent put-down of a blue hair for wearing a RUclipsrs t-shirt?
Yeah some of this (again some, not all) is becoming a little bit r/thathappened to me.
