Back in the ‘60’s and 70’s, stories like this wouldn’t make the news because everyone had repect for each other and would help people whenever they could. Now, it makes the news because it’s not the norm anymore. Oh, how far this country has fallen 😢

Back then the South was not a great place for blacks. And you wonder why there is so much hate around. This young man has withstood all this bad cultural baggage and still has immense empathy..thats the story here.

I live in Florida and the amount of younger people I see graciously and kindly helping the elders is astounding. Triuly. There are lots of good young folks down here, lots of kids being raised right. Never thought I would say that about Florida but it is true.

Just wanted to point out that those bumps used at the end of the ramps make it very difficult for handicapped people in chairs or on bikes to get back onto trails/sidewalks when they are alone and it's on an incline.
Wish they would come up with something easier for them.

ADA act. Those ramps with the "bumps" are for blind people. I've installed many(as per law) and had the same question...

@@foffndy666Sure but are specifications legislated? Because bumps are fine but the incline seems counterintuitive.
I find that turning around and going over the bumps backwards makes it much easier. But, I still have some leg function and can use my feet to push.

I love helping people like this as well. The other day, I saw a elderly lady in a wheelchair who was struggling to grab something out of her reach at the grocery store. I was able to help her. It made me happy. ❤

I live in Florida and I said the same thing BUT you have to remember Florida is a straight up tropical or sub tropical climate, the only other state that even comes close is Hawai''i, the most remote land mass on the planet. We can't dress 'normal' here, we can't wear lots of material or even closed toe shoes most of the time. It just is what it is. She looks nice and presentable, espically for 98% humidity.
