They'll perform solidly. Just not going to be the 3-4X in 3-4 years that everyone is hyping. Many will be picking them up at 10% discount if that, while I'm looking for 25% or better before I purchase a significant quantity of fighter tanks.
Seems like he is hedging on the Fighter Tank here. Everyone knows those figs are going to go up and then set will go up too. Also prices going up on all Lego will help here too. I don't agree at all, the Fighter Tank will do amazing IMO
Yes yes and yes ! These videos are dope. Got me x10 75336 @58€ and x12 76406 @29€ this week. I might die of starvation but if I survive I'll be rich in 2 years
I love Lego investing so much man ! I often run out of money but at prices like these I just need time to see my first cash flows turning positive@@DGBricksYT
I went deep into the Disney GWP though and here in Europe it has not taken off at all. I let you imagine but eventually when the secondary market dries out I think this 40600 beauty might become quite valuable
@@DGBricksYTI’m contemplating selling them to the US market. I’ve got 24 of them (21 from the event and 3 I just bought this week at ≈26€/u). I hope the market will dry up here and the price jump but for now this whole thing has been a poor investment
Enjoyed the video gentlemen! I think the release of the Target Exclusive Viking Village will improve the performance of the Viking ship. Also, don’t underestimate the craziness of the Star Wars army builders - that fighter tank will do well!
Thanks guys a lot! It was DG's idea to do these episodes! DG is a great partner - he is really good at this podcast/longform stuff - I love working with him!
I think the reason the Disney 100 BH set isn't selling is that HALF of it is boring to look at. Not colorful enough. Needed one more bright character. Left side of the box just feels like a blank space to anyone who isn't familiar with characters that old.
Very good point. Mickey and Minnie both have bright colors, but not this set of 4. I think they'll still easily sell for $60-80 a year or two after retirement, but lots of factors at play. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.
The clone fighter tank is Gold .Only at target and they will never make this clone trooper legion again and the mace window with arm printing looks amazing might be best mace we ever had . Sorry but I have 50 of these and plan on getting another 30 before end of year
What's your avg buy price? I would certainly go that deep if I could get them for $30 or better. At anything close to MSRP though, I'm treading lightly for the reasons discussed in the video.
One thing you guys touched on briefly was the recent rise in popularity of Lego investing, any thoughts in talking about this, how might be some good strategies to navigate these new waters? My concerns are gonna be flooded markets when we get the big waves of retirements.. thanks! Also loved your opinion on the Van Gough set, id wish they expand on it with more paintings…..
Great question. One key I mention in my UCS Gunship vs Cantina video is going upmarket. Newbie LEGO investors are probably not going to be jumping in right away with $400 MSRP sets. The most important thing is just filtering out the FOMO & herd mentality & conducting your own quality research. That will lead you to make informed decisions on what to purchase. It's also going to be key to purchase at as good a discount possible this year.
Disney 100 Brickheadz are full price in the UK but dont sell on Ebay for full price, my theory is too many people bought them for the recent Disney GWP and the market is oversaturated. Hopefully its a slow and steady rise post retirement
Great job I listen to kdx all the time . My concern with all Lego investing is the economy and the climate around the world economically isn’t looking good and disposal income sales are dropping like a lead rock
After sales tax? That's unbelievable. We'll see if target runs another deal before the end of the year. If they don't, you'll have a better average cost than 99% of investors out there.
very cool collab, i just wish DG would dig a bit more for his sets, a lot of them were pretty obvious winner and didnt need discussion imo while the talking around the more niche things, less obvious investements pieces, KDX proposed was the most interesting bits i think
Great video. That last Van Gogh set is something I have been talking about as soon as it came out. 100% it will be a great investment. Why? Because it will appeal to a lot more people who are NOT into Lego.
I am curious if the thoughts on the Vikings ship may change with more Viking sets coming out? I think as a standalone its not as desirable but if they keep expanding it may be a sleeper demand later. Otherwise I generally agree with your assessment.
Somewhat. I'm very positive on LEGO vikings, especially the new $130 village set. That one is a great set. Does it make me more bullish on the Viking 3in1 ship? Not really
I'm not a fan of the Hogwarts Banners and wont be investing in them. I don't like that the price point is higher than the Moments sets. I think the fact they are retiring at the same time is actually a bad thing. Surprised they aren't retiring Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw now, but keeping the 2 most popular sets around. The fact they are retiring at the same time makes it impossible for someone to buy Gryffindor in 2024 and then want to go back and get them all. I seem to be in the minority on this one and won't mind if I'm wrong. Love the Disney 100 Brickheadz. Still don't understand why they are still on sale. I do think the Republic Fighter Tank will do well. Is it overrated? Maybe. I got my 5 during the May the 4th promo. Thats the only way I've been able to get a discount. I've bought some others in store during other GWPs. I do think it's being overhoarded but maybe the fact that it's never been on sale will help reduce this. I like this set way better than last years 501st Legion set which was overhoarded AND always on sale. Got 2 or 3 of the Viking Ship at 50% off during Target clearance. At that price, I think its good. Hopefully the Viking Village set helps improve demand for this one. The Reddit Lego Leaks has Starry Night retiring in 2025! Its still so early but i think this set is still a winner. Will likely avoid the Delorean whenever it retires because of all the people who bought so early.
Could 75338 Ambush on Ferrix be flying under the radar with so much attention going to the Republic Fighter Tank? Another Target exclusive. Only 28 listed on eBay (new, US only) with 76 sold. None available under RRP. 28 available. For an exclusive Star Wars set that’s retiring.
I just don't see the same demand for Ferrix. For all the great points above, there seems to be low supply and low demand. I'm not seeing it sell above MSRP the same way the fighter tank is.
Come and see me in 5 years and tell me those fighter tanks are overrated
They'll perform solidly. Just not going to be the 3-4X in 3-4 years that everyone is hyping. Many will be picking them up at 10% discount if that, while I'm looking for 25% or better before I purchase a significant quantity of fighter tanks.

Yea but bro it's 5 years just to make how much?
When you guys do these videos together are my favorite Lego videos on RUclips
That's awesome to hear, thanks!!
Thank you!
Agreeing on DeLorean - waiting until retirement date for it and ECTO-1 before deciding to buy. Unless good sale/discount value comes along first
Interesting. What is the follow up video. Chris from the UK!
Another excellent video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge based on your experience and research. Quality stuff.

Great sets at great prices! Make sure to diversify. And don't spend the grocery budget on LEGO, as tempting as that may be!

Interesting, here in the US I've seen those go as high as $80-100. At that price I'd sell and reinvest profits into something else retiring.

Lego is running a Back to Hogwarts. The house banners are 20% off with a nice gwp at $130
The GWP is sold out world wide right? so thats not a great discount compared to other sellers
@@leroydude91yeah but sales have been rare
Been watching Starry Night closely and waiting on a discount
I noticed that at Walmart they now scan for $136 in store (20% off). Love the set.

They marked the Armorer’s Forge set down by 33% on Black Friday. Hoping they do something similar, although I’d be surprised.

I have to disagree with regard to the 3 in 1 ship. I just picked one up for £35 so for me it’s a no brainier
At that price, you can't lose. For most picking it up at $96 though, I think it will perform poorly.
Thanks for the great video guys! This was awesome information as I plan my purchases for the remainder of the year and Black Friday! Will be back!
Glad you enjoyed! KDX and I will have another episode out soon where we discuss plans for the remainder of the year.
Uh oh...DG is ready to start recording the next episode...I better start getting my research together!! 😂😂
Great bits of info, great collaboration as usual. 👍🇬🇧
Thanks much! We enjoy it!
I walked into a grocery store to buy storm trooper pack.. found 20$ 😅😂❤🎉
Soon they will be gone for that price and $25+!
Ha just the clone troopers are going for 55 bucks on the tank. Grab it. It's a banger but your going to have to hang on to it.
I don't see $55 yet, closer to $40. Still going to be a good set long term!

I got it on sale at LEGO for around $30 USD

There was a bit of a delay between the recording of this video and the editing/posting, so that sale is regrettably over. It should go on sale again!
