I notice the map you have at 2:24 includes the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, but excludes the Cedar Rapids Kernels. RedHawks play in an independent league called the American Association of Professional Baseball (AAPB), whereas the Kernels are a High-A, formally single-A team

Before television, the minor leagues were organically connected to their locations. We didn't just have Class A through Triple-A. We also had B-, C-, and D-level leagues.
Minor league players could make a good living back in the day. In fact, some players preferred to stay in the minors. Needless to say, this has changed dramatically since free agency drove up MLB salaries.
When I was 10, the San Diego Padres came into existence. My grandfather, a deep baseball fan, took me to a game. In that game, a Padre infielder booted a ball. The fans--and there weren't all that many--booed. I booed lustily as well. My grandpa grabbed me and said, "Ricky! You need to know that guy was great his whole career. From high school through the minors, he was terrific. It's amazing that he's even here. Show some respect!"
I always have, and I appreciate my grandfather's perspective, because it's become my own. It's amazing to get to the majors, and we need to applaud every player who is able to get there!
When I lived in San Antonio, the Double-A club there was a Dodgers affiliate. One night my friend, Kenneth, and I were there, catching foul balls and giving them to kids. Suddenly, we both saw a figure in the dugout--Sandy Koufax! I knew the pitching coach, Brent Strom, and asked him if Mr Koufax would mind signing our gloves. Brent got it done! We didn't get to meet Mr Koufax, but this was amazing. I still have that glove. I love Minor League Baseball.
I think if Jackson has stayed with baseball and shunned football, he would have gone to the Hall of Fame.

Like you, I love minor league baseball. I like the prices and easier access to the ballpark, but I also like watching AA teams. The players are young and hungry and close to reaching the show.

@@thebaseballprofessor Double-A is the best. Triple-A feels like MLB, only smaller. A-ball feels like you're watching a high school game. But Double-A is like watching adults, and can begin to tell who's going places.

AA baseball is terrific. AAA is more or less a taxi squad for MLB. AA players are the future.

11:21 I see at least *TEN* radar guns all pointing to the same (presumably) pitcher. Hitting a prospective player with TEN (or more) radar streams. Unbelievable. 15:38 now I see *thirteen* -- it's gotta be the water. There's something in the water, right?

Also, Dickey's actual first name is Ulysses. He refused, understandably, to answer to "Hey! URA Dickey!"
