What a nice place to be, I was down Chesil 2 days ago mackreling and you won't be washing your hands in the surf there (hard enough keeping out of your wellies), but a really good day 22 mackerel and I quit at that (filled my freezer with bait and a couple for the table)
Great little video lads, good to see you back on the beach..The flatties seem to be around in numbers this year it seems, the hounds have just started to show in the south so hope to get out soon myself, tight lines for the next one Si...ps did you have have sun glasses marks, made that mistake myself a little while back lol 🕶
Thanks Simon, glad you enjoyed it, thanks for taking the time to comment. It's good to see the Flatties and to catch them, reminds me of when I was a child :-) Haha... I was a little concerned about the sun glasses mark, but luckily it wasn't too bad! I'm naturally quite red anyway!! Haha! Hope your fishing is going well, cheers Chris.
Thanks Andy, glad you are enjoying the videos! :-) I got the bucket from Angling Direct years ago, I think it was from a company called Lemco. If you click the tackle box link in the video description there should be a link to some other similar models. Hope that helps. :-) Tight lines, cheers Chris.
We could look at that mate! Had a few people email about collaborations... it's just trying to fit stuff in though. Am struggling to get out at the moment!
We will try Connor, it's just with sea fishing we are more affected by weather, tides, sea state and actual fish. Fingers crossed for some Bass and SMoothound this summer thought. :-)
Hi Chris..another great video just goes to show not all the fish are on the horizon ! good days sport all the same .. It was also interestng to see the weaver close up heard of them never seen or caught one .. Tight Lines.
hi mate i have been fishing with 2 hook flappers beach and pier town quey in southampton for one and hamble and western shore no fish in over 3 weeks on the boat also no fish in over 3 weks any tips on what im doing wrong im fishing the right tides using a normal rod and reel with white line 2hook flappers are made with decent hook lengths i use rag and squid im getting fed up of blanking for months on end and even blanking on the boat after i have paid money for it cheers mate
Try using smaller hooks, make sure the bait doesn't cover the hook, and try out crab and lug baits, squid is a good tipping bait but not so good on its own, rag is ok but really you want to use peeler crab and lugworm, mackerel strips are good too.
Hi Ash, rather than bait or tackle it's probably because there are no fish there. Perhaps try a different venue or perhaps try fishing in a variety of different conditions. Try and pick the biggest tides of the month (full moon and new moon), these generally tend to yield more fish. I'd try and fish at night too... fish tend to come closer to the shore under the cover of darkness. Hope that helps a little. Cheers Chris.
This was a few weeks back now, I'm not sure at the moment, little out of touch! Hopefully I'll be back out in the next week or so though. :-) Hope your fishing is going well, cheers Chris.
good to see you back on the beach Chris, lets have some more.
Thanks David! Fingers crossed we should be back with some Bass and Smoothound this summer!

Have you tried to use prawns for flatfish? Its one of the best baits in baltic sea but never heard anyone using it in uk...
I haven't really Edgar, I don't tend to use prawns very often. Around our coastline they aren't used that much.
From The Waters Edge TV: have you tried to take part in E.BC open? And would it be possible to organise some session with you?
Hi Chris it's always nice to catch a few fish with that kind of weather conditions. Tight lines Greetzzz John
#saltwaterpassions
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! Not ideal conditions for fishing, but ideal for sitting there and soaking up some rays! ;-)

Great video can you tell me what rod and reel are you using
the rods are Greys GRXS. i know that for a fact because i have them and the reels look like daiwa 20SHA also known as Daiwa slosh 20
+w1ckaman89 thanks for the info
The rods are Greys GRX-s and the reels are the Penn 525 MAG 2's, hope that helps.
do you make your own rigs?
Sometimes I do Peter, depends how much free time I have, if not I'll buy them ready made.
where do you buy them from
should have headed down to shingle street, plenty of rays coming out, off to minsmere tomorrow hoping for a few bass
Nice one, fingers crossed we might get down that way soon!
Keep well away from them weavers i ad one flick and just got me it knocked me sick very painful
They are pretty painful mate!
Earth worms good for dabs . Flounder
Really Elliot? I've never tried them, but I have heard of people using them in the past!
@@FromTheWatersEdgeTV ye I've had a good few on earth woms should try it one
what's with dragging the flounders ( dabb) in over the rocks? I thought you folks were big into "fish safety"?
wouldve liked to see a reply on this
Mike Speranza nii
Mike Speranza they're small it won't hurt them at all
LLC
if we all cared for the fish we wouldnt stick a hook in them??? we all love our fish and fishing but please leave the fishing police out of it.
six months have past since your last sea fishing film and you still not fixed your two rods .
Haha, I know! I need to get them done. Am debating buying some new one's though!
From The Waters Edge TV where was it?
Dragging fish up the beach - not cool.
No Roker up that way? Been plenty showing off Felixstowe lately.

Haha! The video was based around catching small fish. It was many years ago now, a few of our other/newer video's have some bigger fish in.
