I have been looking for a dash camera for a while now but have yet to pull the trigger on one. I will most definitely consider this one. Thank you again for the time, effort and cost you put into making all these really great and informative video's. I greatly appreciate all of you and your wife's hard work in creating consistently outstanding content.
I bought a fit cam X...excellent quality & it's plug & play, no one even knows it's there because it fits in the shroud of the mirror. This looks good as well
you should check out the 12pin adapters that connect to the rearview mirror and provide USB power to accessories. My dash cam install took 5 minutes and I didn't have to run any wires. Dongar and Lynx are what I found online, been running the Dongar adaptor to my Garmin unit for over a year now with no issues. also the posters came in just on time for my tacomas 60k service - great quality thanks again!
Another great video, I appreciate what you show. My truck is going to in much better shape with your videos. Thanks....looking forward to the wiring video for this camera
I too would like a rear camera. I'd love a recommendation for an all in one system. Great Videos. Especially the spark plug video. Doing those this weekend. Thanks!
Wi-Fi/bluetooth is simply a transfer method for footage. You’d still need to power the camera via wiring. I’ll have another video soon for creative ways on that.
I've got an Aukey dash cam.Only thing that I don't like about dash cams is having to pull card or downloading any videos I want to keep. Wished there was a way to transfer vids over wifi to other devices or laptop. It does come with the crash sensor&uses a capacitor instead of older models that use battery back up. I did the standard DC plug hook up for time being but maybe I'll change over after I see your future power hook up video. I shyed away from going directly to fuse power because I didn't want to worry about battery draw but I REALLY would like to try it just to see if it's all that bad. 👍✌️
I recommend a dashcam with built in WiFi! It makes transferring videos seamlessly. It’s especially useful during an accident and you want to show the cop a video from your phone
Did the remote come with the camera or was it added for an extra cost? I ordered one and it did not have the remote, though it showed it in the manual. Just wondering if this was a typo.
Good Morning All- What size memory card do most purchase? The 64 or 128? Not sure how long either keep videos. I'd like to install one of these asap. Thanks
Run the power cable tucked into the headliner down the passenger a pillar up behind the glove box compartment along the center console Plastics on the floor drill a small hole at the front right corner of the center console unplug it into the center console USBS completely hides wire from any View

Now I see why it’s good timing for this video!

Will look into that. The spark plugs aren't difficult, just have patience.

Very informative video, I need a dash cam so thank you.🙏🏻
Glad it was helpful!

cool dash cam, great idea if you drive in urban settings.
Definitely!
Thanks for watching and the comment
Greg the Editor
Are you able to change settings to where the dashcam doesn't pick up audio in the car?
@@shawn1869 I am fairly certain you can… not a feature I’ve searched for yet..
Looks like you can buy an adapter that adds a USB to your rear view mirror for a super easy plug and play install too.
Exactly. Upcoming video will cover it but it works great.
@@teamoildrop Oh sick, thats awesome!
Also very practical/good tutorial videos.
@@megahurts2 🍻 😌
My dude! Thanks for the video, do you reckon this will work with the dongar USB thing that comes out of the mirrror?
Yes it will
Greg the Editor
Greg is right and it definitely does as I have tested it myself! That’s in another video I’ll be doing.
@@teamoildrop thanks for the reply!
Do you recommend the hardwired one over WiFi/Bluetooth?

Thanks for this. Do you have any recommendations for a front and rear dash cam? Currently looking at FitcamX
Ya know… I actually don’t sorry brother. Never bothered with a rear facing honestly.
@@teamoildrop nice big trailer hitch keeps people away from the rear :D

The WIFI features are a great benefit for sure
Thanks
Great the Editor
I didn't think wifi was available on a dash cam but anything possible these days but I'm sure it ain't cheap either.
Did the remote come with the camera or was it added for an extra cost? I ordered one and it did not have the remote, though it showed it in the manual. Just wondering if this was a typo.
Sorry brother, depending on where you order from and what kit you get it may not come with it. I believe it’s very cheap on Amazon though
I want a dash cam for the rear but I'm not a huge fan of the wires it will annoy me easily 😂
I'm in the same boat. There are ways of tucking the wiring behind the door and window trim panels.

Morning! I run a 128 because memory is cheap. I also keep it in on perpetually which is a video I’ll be covering soon. It’s a 24/7 security for me.
lol I just bought a dash cam after looking for videos on good ones for tacomas. Which I saw this
Thanks for the reply

I wonder how this will hold up with my 20% tint on my front windshield lol
Really can't answer that one

Sure does! I did a different route to the engine but I’ll show that in a follow up video!
Team Oil Drop, You're awesome! Let's be friends and play together!
Thanks brother! You’re awesome too but I don’t game much anymore
