Barbs are even more broken now. I'm excited to see shield meta barb nuking lobbies while people spam "w patch". The map change and performance fix is good, but they really just keep buffing barb.
Like what is the point in playing Ranger now. Fighters are the new Ranger at this point. And fighters will 100% get dunked on by barbs, so might as well play them instead. Lobbies just full of barbs with unlimited throwing axes and sheilds.
That cleric fight is the reason I do not play cleric as a solo anymore. WTF ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO AGAINST ANY RANGED CLASS THAT IS FASTER THAN YOU AND WONT LEAVE YOU ALONE?! Guess he could pray you run out of arrows before he runs out of spells?
Definitely not what he did, you shouldn't just keep running after them, you need to disengage from the fight, and bait them away from open spaces, bc in open spaces they can easily run away indefinitely, In tight corners you have the advantage
Cleric used to feel godlike before people figured out how to play. Used to just buff up and roll entire lobbies in solo. Now if anyone has ranged, it feels like a waste of time. If theyre decent at least.
this game will never be balanced sadly thats the nature of games with classes like dark and darker someone's always gonna counter you or be overpowered having the combination of a game like that with a game where you can lose hours of progress on a character in a second and not even have a chance to fight back is the reason this game is dying

As someone who plays ranger, I knew he was about to hit that second trap. If you focus on the guy's pathing it becomes obvious he is trying to bait Ryan. Nobody runs around and doubles back on themselves when they have that many options of where to go. If you ever have trouble dealing with any class, look up how to play as that class and play as it yourself too, so you understand what your opponent's win condition is.
I ABSOLUTELY encourage new players to buy D&D. I got it three weeks ago and its the most fun I've had on a multiplayer game since halo 3. It's unforgiving but its a blast. I think the balance issues only affect people that have played for a while. I also haven't ever lagged that hard
I think they balanced barb for solos this patch instead of trios or duos in my opinion, I’m consistently killing barbs with fighter and bard in solos although struggle to take them out in duos. Wrote this before watching the video 🎉
Tbh, what made me and my duo stop playing is only being able to bring gear into high roller, I'm sick of having to fight obnoxiously overtuned pve just to have maybe one fight per game. Map rotation, which essentially removed pvp in crypts was just the last straw
Kinda scared about removing map rotation, I feel like some queues will be completly empty due to dilluting the players between each map, and that certain classes will be playing only certain maps... I liked the rotation especially for not having to fight only rogues on Ruins but oh well

Ice cavern monster need to be less tanky, repost does not kill skellies that’s not acceptable amount of hp on them and the density on top of it makes it worse, you can only clear 1-2 rooms and time is up. If you are heard heavily geard with dmg then u might clear 2-3 rooms not smoothly
Someone else said in there vid something like It’s sad that this game will probably be like pubg, a good game but it will inspire another game (fortnite) that is easier to consume to blow up. I really hope they can fix there stuff before someone makes a better game like it.
You know this whole issue with the club wouldn’t exist rn if they just removed it from Barb. I would’ve been fine with it just being a cleric weapon but gawd damn, it’s just LEAGUES above the Viking Sword in every way
Busy tackling, and actually being capable of fixing these problems, are two very different things. I have no more hope for them, I'll just wait and see what they do. Aside from the horrible balance changes, the "don't worry guys we are working on a new class that can turn into a chicken" when the game isn't even playable because of the lag was kind of the last drop for me

I feel like the dark brick dungeon swordfight component of the game is what they should focus on. There shouldn't be too much more magic than there already is.
I have never played Dark and Darker, but the first thing I look at in a game is character customization. Does this game have any? I like to make my own stuff instead of playing with pre-made characters.
i really want this because it would make red portals that much more exciting. i would be okay with waiting a little bit before going deeper if it meant inferno had more activity
My fear is that imagine there are 4-5 squads everytime you hit inferno. It would be so hard to escape/fight bosses/or even loot a ton. I feel it would punish the average player more. As the best/surviving players are funneled into one lobby together. On the other hand wiping a lobby then meeting another team in crypts who just did the same thing to their first lobby would be extremely rewarding.
@@tlarsen1221 imo the best compromise is to make it so you can pay a courier a hefty fee to stash items for you(these items would be untradeable until you take them back into dungeon and re-loot them), or restock consumables so the average joe isn't not crawling through there half dead before getting mauled by a demon this way if you have smth you really don't want to risk it's safe but it's not worth it for loot that you intend to flip

I talked about this, The game is in a pretty good state (Just barb being a little too much lol) but the ROTATION of the maps just make me waste time waiting for it to change (at least 20 mins after every match) because I don't like the ice mountain until its complete + I just wanna play Duos with my friend, Thats all

I think that one of Ironmace's biggest issues is their lack of communication with the playerbase. We've had this terrible update out for over a week now, and instead of announcement saying they're working on fixes, they make a quick post in general chat that almost no one saw. I get that they don't want to try and talk to an angry mob, but saying nothing for over a week does far more damage.
Hate to say it, but I highly doubt they will ever re-release on steam. Ironmace can barely balance the game properly, enough over so much time that they are seemingly on the last legs before the community completely disappears. Pop had dropped off 66% since this season began, and the consistent mis-balancing has pissed off the community. I doubt ironmace has the talent or will even consider putting forth the effort to port tens of thousands of accounts to steam (so people who have paid don't pay twice) if they ever did decide to move back to steam. There was a 20 year veteran IT/comp science analyst who made a video about dark and darker saying that at this rate, they will not recover unless they put all their "balance" changes off the live-server because their balancing is so bad it's killing the community off.
First things first. You could play whatever map you wanted whenever you wanted. Just not as the size team you wanted, so to say you had to wait an hour to play the map you wanted is a bit of a reach. And getting back to steam should be their Main Goal imo. I completely agree that it will blow up the player base and in turn give them more data to analyze for better update progression ect. Also the first ranger kill was straight luck, not sure i would of included that. He was probably one shot from the start as in almost dead not that the club one shot him. He was also trash to let you escape not 1 but 2 traps. lmao
The balancing team is so slow and so ignorant. They buffed barb when everyone was complaining about it being the fastest and hardest hitting class and then they made him a tank. Fire the balancing team and start over.
patch started 2 minutes ago, literally , nerfed warlock , big nerfed barb, market place , barb can use round sshield cleric buff, ice caverns timer longer etc... finally a extractshooter that dont die and fuck up cause of devs.... map rotation remooved.
New world still lacks content, we still only have 1 OPR map, they just changed interactions and AGS went radio silent again. New world is LOTR beta now.
I think you underastimate how new player unfriendly this game is. I played many of the popular multiplayer games, and this is BY FAR the worst as a new player experiance. In the lobby you see mainly level 20 chars this means when a player finds you, you are dead in solo. You will only play solo, becasue if people play with you, your group dies to others who dont have noobs. Every time, for a long time. The other players have the experience AND the better equipment AND the healing. This "game mechanic" that punishes the beginner in many ways is stupid. As a beginner there is no way you can run, you just run into masses of mobs you can't handle. As a beginner the game is very hard even witlhout other players. In this state the game will not be able to keep many new players. Make dozen of runs were you die mostly because of no healing and meeting other players and if you succed a run you will lose everything in the next runs is not what many player want to do for days or weeks (for the most). There are many games were the "get good" is motivating becasue you don't get the feeling that the games wants you to suffer. But this is here the case. A game that laughes in the face of beginner.
One of the things I hope they address is the massive teaming that's occurring in almost every single solo lobby. It's just friend and friender and this point.
They doubled the amount of AP Gained from PvP, and made it so that there's less escape portals, idk what else they can do, disable voice chat and remove emotes & crouching ?

New world was a disaster at launch with fundamental issues. It was melting graphics cards, and i dont think it was comparable to a game this early in it's infancy. Also btw, I was tuning into a RetroRey stream that interacted with your video. The club is just an alright version of the short sword, and in most cases, people can just run away when you buff.
AP has changed the core spirit of the game, only normal lobbies still have that. Or maybe it’s just gear fear in HR, but the pvp is either just a team playing super defensive and running or gold cloaks 2 shotting everyone
I love how the early bard gameplay just shows why cleric sucks in solos. That cleric is only gonna catch him if the bard fucks up. No real ranged capabilities outside of throwing a torch and a single unreliable spell, slow speed with no way to buff it, slow weapon swings...
I have lost hope for these devs… They would rather patch duping glitch in a matter of a day AND rollback 1-3 days early than fix a game breaking exploit which makes the barbarian invincible. NOT TO MENTION I got recording of another exploit which includes a warlock being completely invisible. Made a report with evidences nothing was done, not even an answer… I mean I get that they want to fix server issues but fixing the barbarian exploit is a matter of 30 minutes MAX. 💀💀💀
They been targeting balance and server performance since the game came out. With this much rubberbanding after 6 months I genuinely don’t have much hope.
One can suspect they did not plan to be unable to use far more stable Steam servers and had to build servers from almost scratch w/o experience. I remember never having any server problems during the initial playtests as it was on Steam, take a break.

Every patch should say: Added a line of code to lower fps by 5 ..Added a line to increase chance to freeze/dc with a luck potion ..Fixed an issue where rubberbanding would sometimes not result in getting hit by an npc ...Adjusted arrows physicality slightly, allowing them to occasionally phase through walls ....Barbs nerfs = Gave them a better buff and a 15% arp mace to greif all lobbies into 15 man Barb lobbies ..... "We are moving offices again soon, be ready for druids to come out with another -10 fps, and and all exciting Map, the "Loading Void". This new map consists of a void, if you manage to load through in 1 try, you gain +1500AP. Failing to load results in loss of -500 AP per attempt. We have added this in rotation, inbetween the current map rotations. Thus, the new rotation will be as follows: Goblin Caves -> Void -> Ice Map -> Void -> Ruins -> void. Happy Hunting! Only on Ice map density is a problem, Goblins for example should be more static around the camps for example (you may reduce it by at most 20%) but on ruins? Skeletons are pretty easy.
@@aciq96 its not a question of easy or hard. The game is sold has a dungeon delving adventure. In any good adventure you don't have to kill 5 monsters every m^2. It's just bad gameplay. Monsters should be placed more scarcely and be stronger.
@@GabKaulem Dungeon exploring is also a five man content in novels and MMO’s and without battle royale concept yet we have it and your vision should be then strongly PvE based with long corridors and spatial halls for big encounters. That’s not how extraction games work especially with PvP content which this game should be focused on the most. You expect that every mob should be atleast on the level of Barbarians, Champions or Demon Berserkers and happen once per room but then how are you supposed to balance it for solo, duos and trios? Your whole idea is leaking from every hole.
I agree with most of your opinions in this video, but I think the New World comparison is a little off base. Everything you said was accurate, but New World was DOA as a game anyways un4rch. It was randomly announced a release date roughly 6 months before it came out, and the early versions of the game were next to NOTHING like the actual released product. They created a shell of a game, and then morphed it to what the players said they want (much like Blizzard games nowadays)... Whereas Dark and Darker is a full fledged game with more content being slowly added onto. Theres a difference in design philosophy. and because of Amazon not putting the same vision into NW that Ironmace has clearly put into DND from the first playtest, it was doomed to have a massive player dropoff. Dark and Darker has a player dropoff - sure - but its more or less a flattening out of players, rather than a fall off. NW had an actual hard fall off.
Everyone's being too nice and understanding to a trash thieving company that truly doesn't deserve It. 6-7 months and only content update is a trash map they force us to play. Can't even handle making a marketplace. As if it's some new top of the line system. Every MMO ever has ALREADY designed marketplace but ironmace just can't figure it out
We definitely haven't even seen remotely close to the peak players that Dark and Darker could/will have. Ironmace has done absolutely no marketing whatsoever and it's a very niche, word-of-mouth game. I guarantee when it's back on Steam we're going to see a crazy surge in player count, especially if, as you said, they polish everything up before releasing it to the masses. Even at 10-12k, I think those numbers are very impressive. That would put it within the top 100 for concurrent players on Steam and we're this late into the wipe.

You could body block them in a room, that's what a Cleric did to me once. Hard to do, but I understand the frustration.

Truth be told, I can say that the game still feels relatively new-player-friendly in normals, but HR is definitely a death sentence for newer folks.

First things first. You could play whatever map you wanted whenever you wanted. Just not as the size team you wanted, so to say you had to wait an hour to play the map you wanted is a bit of a reach. And getting back to steam should be their Main Goal imo. I completely agree that it will blow up the player base and in turn give them more data to analyze for better update progression ect. Also the first ranger kill was straight luck, not sure i would of included that. He was probably one shot from the start as in almost dead not that the club one shot him. He was also trash to let you escape not 1 but 2 traps. lmao
The balancing team is so slow and so ignorant. They buffed barb when everyone was complaining about it being the fastest and hardest hitting class and then they made him a tank. Fire the balancing team and start over.

patch started 2 minutes ago, literally , nerfed warlock , big nerfed barb, market place , barb can use round sshield cleric buff, ice caverns timer longer etc... finally a extractshooter that dont die and fuck up cause of devs.... map rotation remooved.
As one of those infrequent players, I feel the matchmaking needs to be addressed as well.
New world still lacks content, we still only have 1 OPR map, they just changed interactions and AGS went radio silent again. New world is LOTR beta now.
In my opinion: the rage ability should slow you down and make you really strong. It makes no sense for a tank class to have a sprint ability.

I think you underastimate how new player unfriendly this game is. I played many of the popular multiplayer games, and this is BY FAR the worst as a new player experiance. In the lobby you see mainly level 20 chars this means when a player finds you, you are dead in solo. You will only play solo, becasue if people play with you, your group dies to others who dont have noobs. Every time, for a long time. The other players have the experience AND the better equipment AND the healing. This "game mechanic" that punishes the beginner in many ways is stupid. As a beginner there is no way you can run, you just run into masses of mobs you can't handle. As a beginner the game is very hard even witlhout other players.
In this state the game will not be able to keep many new players. Make dozen of runs were you die mostly because of no healing and meeting other players and if you succed a run you will lose everything in the next runs is not what many player want to do for days or weeks (for the most).
There are many games were the "get good" is motivating becasue you don't get the feeling that the games wants you to suffer. But this is here the case. A game that laughes in the face of beginner.
One of the things I hope they address is the massive teaming that's occurring in almost every single solo lobby. It's just friend and friender and this point.
Maybe get some friends and run trios, that’s how the game was designed to be played anyway. It’s way more fun
They doubled the amount of AP Gained from PvP, and made it so that there's less escape portals, idk what else they can do, disable voice chat and remove emotes & crouching ?

New world was a disaster at launch with fundamental issues. It was melting graphics cards, and i dont think it was comparable to a game this early in it's infancy.
Also btw, I was tuning into a RetroRey stream that interacted with your video. The club is just an alright version of the short sword, and in most cases, people can just run away when you buff.

AP has changed the core spirit of the game, only normal lobbies still have that. Or maybe it’s just gear fear in HR, but the pvp is either just a team playing super defensive and running or gold cloaks 2 shotting everyone

I love how the early bard gameplay just shows why cleric sucks in solos. That cleric is only gonna catch him if the bard fucks up. No real ranged capabilities outside of throwing a torch and a single unreliable spell, slow speed with no way to buff it, slow weapon swings...

I have lost hope for these devs… They would rather patch duping glitch in a matter of a day AND rollback 1-3 days early than fix a game breaking exploit which makes the barbarian invincible. NOT TO MENTION I got recording of another exploit which includes a warlock being completely invisible. Made a report with evidences nothing was done, not even an answer… I mean I get that they want to fix server issues but fixing the barbarian exploit is a matter of 30 minutes MAX. 💀💀💀
They been targeting balance and server performance since the game came out. With this much rubberbanding after 6 months I genuinely don’t have much hope.
One can suspect they did not plan to be unable to use far more stable Steam servers and had to build servers from almost scratch w/o experience.
I remember never having any server problems during the initial playtests as it was on Steam, take a break.

Every patch should say: Added a line of code to lower fps by 5 ..Added a line to increase chance to freeze/dc with a luck potion ..Fixed an issue where rubberbanding would sometimes not result in getting hit by an npc ...Adjusted arrows physicality slightly, allowing them to occasionally phase through walls ....Barbs nerfs = Gave them a better buff and a 15% arp mace to greif all lobbies into 15 man Barb lobbies ..... "We are moving offices again soon, be ready for druids to come out with another -10 fps, and and all exciting Map, the "Loading Void". This new map consists of a void, if you manage to load through in 1 try, you gain +1500AP. Failing to load results in loss of -500 AP per attempt. We have added this in rotation, inbetween the current map rotations. Thus, the new rotation will be as follows: Goblin Caves -> Void -> Ice Map -> Void -> Ruins -> void. Happy Hunting! Only on Ice map density is a problem, Goblins for example should be more static around the camps for example (you may reduce it by at most 20%) but on ruins? Skeletons are pretty easy.
@@aciq96 its not a question of easy or hard. The game is sold has a dungeon delving adventure. In any good adventure you don't have to kill 5 monsters every m^2. It's just bad gameplay. Monsters should be placed more scarcely and be stronger.
@@GabKaulem Dungeon exploring is also a five man content in novels and MMO’s and without battle royale concept yet we have it and your vision should be then strongly PvE based with long corridors and spatial halls for big encounters. That’s not how extraction games work especially with PvP content which this game should be focused on the most. You expect that every mob should be atleast on the level of Barbarians, Champions or Demon Berserkers and happen once per room but then how are you supposed to balance it for solo, duos and trios? Your whole idea is leaking from every hole.

I agree with most of your opinions in this video, but I think the New World comparison is a little off base. Everything you said was accurate, but New World was DOA as a game anyways un4rch. It was randomly announced a release date roughly 6 months before it came out, and the early versions of the game were next to NOTHING like the actual released product. They created a shell of a game, and then morphed it to what the players said they want (much like Blizzard games nowadays)... Whereas Dark and Darker is a full fledged game with more content being slowly added onto. Theres a difference in design philosophy. and because of Amazon not putting the same vision into NW that Ironmace has clearly put into DND from the first playtest, it was doomed to have a massive player dropoff. Dark and Darker has a player dropoff - sure - but its more or less a flattening out of players, rather than a fall off. NW had an actual hard fall off.

Everyone's being too nice and understanding to a trash thieving company that truly doesn't deserve It. 6-7 months and only content update is a trash map they force us to play. Can't even handle making a marketplace. As if it's some new top of the line system. Every MMO ever has ALREADY designed marketplace but ironmace just can't figure it out

We definitely haven't even seen remotely close to the peak players that Dark and Darker could/will have. Ironmace has done absolutely no marketing whatsoever and it's a very niche, word-of-mouth game. I guarantee when it's back on Steam we're going to see a crazy surge in player count, especially if, as you said, they polish everything up before releasing it to the masses. Even at 10-12k, I think those numbers are very impressive. That would put it within the top 100 for concurrent players on Steam and we're this late into the wipe.

Ranger traps automatically release you after a bit, so sometimes it's better to dodge and wait it out, especially if you have low resourcefulness
