This is brilliant, really helpful. We have an old second hand harp and my daughter is taking her Grade 1 exam next week and I've been sweating a bit incase we have a string go. Feeling more confident now with several practices on old strings - thank you 🙂

So I put my right hand in front of my left hand and it doesn't make a loop and I end up with a straight string again. So I make a loop anyway and I can't tell which way round it is because I'm trying to mirror the video so I'm trying to keep my hands are the other way round but probably not succeeding. So I do a second loop and draw it through the first and my knot unties and I end up with a straight string again. Is it just me? 5 more views, let's see....

What about an Ashley stopper knot? The string going up though the sound board comes out of the center of the knot. The knot is large an evenly place on the wood. The knot is not lopsided in any way.

It kept fighting and unraveling when i put the first loop in the second loop. But it stayed when i put the second loop in the first loop.....

I appreciate using an oversized string but I couldn't see where that pencil at all.
