- Bruno Senna took to the Donington track in the McLaren hypercar that bears the Senna name.
The McLaren Senna completed the circuit in 1m30.5s to set a new unofficial lap record for a road-going production car on the same Donington Park Grand Prix configuration at which Ayrton was famously victorious.

Now do it at Nurburgring
McLaren and other brands like Ferrari, don't do lap record attempts at the Nurburgring unfortunately. They see the risk as being too high in a road car on a track as difficult as the Nordschielfe.
Why ? The point of this is the historic connection with one of the special moments of Senna’s career

It's not fit for Nurburgring, cars made to go fast there have complicated setup that will compromise in other tracks, they tend to be softer suspension wise and more ground clearance, Senna might be slower than even GT2RS on there,
A car made to go fast on Nurburgring will be able to go fast everywhere else, Ferrari and McLaren don't try Nurburgring because it will give them bad image since their cars not that capable on there
Literally one of the best cars that's ever made. Senna and P1 are my dream cars.
Don't forget the McLaren f1 that's also the best McLaren made

@@all-caps3927 nah that's bullshit. If Koenigsegg or Bugatti said that, sure. Because they have 1600 hp cars, one of which is RWD and one weighs 2000 kgs.
Ain't no way is an 800 hp car with 800 kgs of downforce should struggle. If an M4 can do it, an SVJ (and set a record), AMG GT BS can do it, then why can't a Senna or an SF90 XX ? Hell, someone's driven a bus there.

There's probably a couple of 10ths in it still given the oversteer events and some loss of traction. Amazing. Now do the 'Ring!

245 section road front tire on the Senna vs 315 mm front slicks on the GT3. It won't be close. That is one reason why any road legal car can't beat a full fledged race car except maybe on the straights.

@@retmania ...yeah, but the main take is that they set up as a race car (obv). Senna is road going understeer focused car. GT3 cars are faster than mot of the road cars with "just" 500 hp give or take.
What tires were used? I just did a 1:33.5 in Automobilista 2, but I feel really limited by the tires, which I think are supposed to be analogous to basic Pirelli P Zeroes in that sim.

Iconic, in the rain Senna passes Schumacher, Hill, & Prost (who’d combined for 3 championships at the time, eventually for 12 championships) taking the lead on the first lap of the ‘93 European GP, a race Senna would also set the fastest lap of & win.

That's insane, and I'd argue he could have actually gone a bit faster. He stepped out of line a few times. I reckon you could get it to the mid 1:29's.

@@youtubed9695as a f1 fan and racing moto gp is quite an underated racing sport but the main reason why the fast bikes are faster than the car is because of the money they have and McLaren’s senna is a road car they can’t tune it to a race car that’s why the bikes are faster

LOL ~ I'm a bike rider, from Australia. Your lap is disallowed if you cut the green paint. I think both your inside wheels and your outside wheels cut the green paint at that Chicane... If you keep digging in that direction, you'll come out in China.
Yes, it is a fast car, very desirable. But there's no way that was a valid lap.
Take it to the Green Hell, and compare to the GT2-RS. The time to match is 6:43.3.
