Happy 7 year gotcha day. So excited you guys are going back. My friends lived in China in a high rise. They had a little boy 3 yrs, & triplets. She had to come home with the kids because there was fireworks all the time during Chinese New Year and it scared the kids.

The coming Chinese Lunar New Year falls on 29 Jan, the week before & after CNY are full of citizens moving around across the country, all flights and trains are usually fully booked. You really need to plan ahead to avoid the traffic especially you're travel with a number of ppl. Just to remind you those days on CNY are public holidays and the majority of shops will be closed. PPL going back to their hometowns for holidays as well, those malls in cities will probably close. A large flock of ppl usually goes to major attractions, stay away from those crowds, you would not enjoy that.... Anyway, hope you have another great trip in China.
