  • This video is the story of our international adoption of our son, Levi, from Korea. This story occurs during the Corona Virus Covid-19 Pandemic crisis. Levi was 16 months old at the time. Our trip to Korea was from March 2 through March 4, 2020. Looking back at the graph of daily new cases of Covid-19 patients in Korea, we learned that the week we were there was the peak of the Covid-19 crisis timeline for Korea.

So this is just so beautiful. I’ve been watching these stories for the last 24 hours. I have five kids. I’m glad I didn’t start adopting cuz knowing my heart is have way too many kids. No. I couldn’t give that many a good life but just the same. There’s something so perfectly right watching these people become parents to children they’ve chosen to love forever as their own. I think when I was younger I thought biological was it but I can see something so EXTREMELY beautiful in many ways more beautiful than a biological child. A parent that loves with their whole heart is everything no matter how that child got there. This is just amazing.

What a beautiful story. I found myself incredibly emotional at the foster mom’s reaction. We often don’t think about their perspective when the babies they’ve raised go to their forever homes. Although it’s the end goal and an incredible blessing, I can imagine how painful it must be to hand the baby off for the last time.

Yes, I don't know how the foster moms do it, she said he was her 11th child, and then after he left she got 2 more foster babies. To raise them for a year or more and send them away- a piece of her heart has to be cut out. I'm incredibly sad for her.

Korean Family Adventures that is so true, it must be so hard for the foster parents ,but it must also be such a blessing to love on these children so desperate for love and care. The foster parent are the ones who really shows them that grownups can be loving and caring. It most likely makes it easier for the children to be able to connect to their adoptive parents. In my experience it’s much harder for the children from orphanages mostly left in their beds having to learn to soothe and comfort themselves, often learning Stimmung behavior, being neglected, food deprived and under stimulated , maybe not being able to recognize and receive love. Adoption is such a complex mixture of loss, grief, hope and love.
I only wish children could be adopted before they are a year old. It must be easier not to be able to remember so much, but still so much could already have impacted them anyway.
I’m so happy he is one of the ones getting a real loving supporting family with his best in mind. I hope and pray you all will be a huge blessing to each other ❤️

I'm so glad these babies live in foster homes. I imagine they are better off than orphanages. The babies will have significantly less chance of having emotional/behavioral issues because they were environments where they were cared for, loved, touched, fed, played with, read to, etc.

I am adopted myself and bless you both for taking on this adorable child! I think he fell asleep so quickly in the taxi after the pickup because his brain couldn't handle any more trauma.... It's so sad. If only they know that their lives are about to be changed for the better forever! By the way, I think this boy is so lucky that you could talk to him in Korean! You can see how much he already understand in his native language! And imagine the shock if you're being given away to American parents whose language you do not speak at all.... and who call you a different name than you actually have. I like how you mentioned: "Levi, where is your belly button?" "Levi, where is your head?" etc.
It's also a known thing that, in the beginning, an adoptee bonds more with their new father than their mother. As he unfortunately already knows separation (twice!) from a maternal figure.... first his bio mum, and second his foster mum. Even though they are a baby, it's in their cells. They know.

We have completed two international adoptions, our children are now 18 and soon to be 19, our son is from Asia. Both are amazing and we have never had any of the usual problems with them growing up, it is wonderful to see you adopting from your homeland, I am sure for these children it will be a little easier during the anxiety and separation to be familiar with looks and language. Congratulations.

The empathy you have for Levi and his situation is so incredibly amazing. You didn’t know how hard your journey would be with him once you got him home, but you did understand that for him, this was a sad and scary situation. I’m so happy you have your son, the fact that you can empathize with him makes you wonderful parents!

More please MORE!!!!!!!! I would love to see how he’s settling in and how he is interacting with the boys and hopefully bonding with you Ester I know it can be so hard all you wanna do is hug and love on them but they’re a little standoffish. But trust me you will get there I’m just so excited that he was able to find some immediate love and trust for your husband which should hopefully help him get through this first scary time for him. That is such a blessing and truly very impressed with how amazing his new daddy is with him. Also u guys are truly amazing and I am very happy that I found your channel but yes definitely give us more more more more!!!!!!! Stay Safe 🤗

I don't want to sound mean to the others but I've watched a lot of these adoption videos in the last few days and Levi has to be the sweetest, brightest, loveliest little one I've seen. I'm so glad that's gone to such a wonderful family too. He's so lucky to have such great parents.

This is an emotional vlog. I watched thousand times and tears every time. It's so bad feeling to think about Levi was separated for 2 times from physical family and foster family. That was so poor and heart broken. And Levi is so sweet but knew more than same age kids. Luckily Levi have you guys who loved him so much. And his foster mom did very good for Levi. God bless everyone. And your video is very meaningful. I am starting to think more about kids like Levi and I hope I can do more for these kid in the world.

I love so much that Levi is your child. When you made the comments that you would go to your biological child and that Levi was your child - I just burst into tears. And then more tears when mommy and daddy grieved along with him being separated with his foster mom - oh how much you love that sweet boy !! I am praising God for your faithfulness and ask Him to bless you and your family as you begin this new adventure.

So many love lessons you are sharing with all of us!!!!
The love between Levi and his foster mom
The love between you as a couple
The love for your biological children
The love for your adopted son (I loved how David asks himself what would happen if one of your biological kids were stuck during a pandemia in Korea. He said you would be risking your lives to rescue them. And that's why COVID-19 didn't stop you to go get levi.
Its amazing how God sparked the bond a connection of little Levi and you both!
God continues to bless you and your precious family.
Thank you for sharing all these wonderful experiences.🙏
