      I appreciate that. I try to keep it as realistic as possible. But it’s a crazy world we live in right now. It’s nuts to me that we are moving so quickly towards war. I really don’t get it.

    In the case of long term energy I look at it as a multilevel thing. I am working to figure out bare minimum energy for survival, moderate level of energy, and then a comfortable level of energy. For all of these levels I conider both sumer and winter needs.

      I am buying the tea from stores now because it’s convenient and I am keeping my precious seeds to grow it if I need to. That could be an interesting subject at some point. Precious seeds & how to preserve them.

    It's too late... it's already spread through the system and will evolve. We can only hope it will be benevolent, but I doubt it.

    Could you expand on your thoughts about a Chinese invasion of the US mainland? That would be a massive logistical undertaking involving a mass of ships capable of projecting across the entire pacific. I haven’t previously heard anyone make the case that’s something China might be able to do.

    • @RealitySurvival
      @RealitySurvival  5 месяцев назад +2

      My primary point was not that it would happen but that we should prepare as if it could happen. There are conceivable situations and scenarios where it could happen but it is quite unlikely. Even so we need to assume that it might. Otherwise we will be caught off guard if it did happen.

    I'm not convinced that government is the solution to any potential upcoming AI issues. I've been disappointed with government problem solving enough times that I can't help but think that government involvement is tantamount to throwing gasoline on a fire.

    I can get behind the majority of the list, but the AI thing really needs to be demystified, as it has taken a supernatural like condition. JJ you said you don't understand what AI will do, and don't think anyone else knows either? Brother, who do you think is programming it? You think a million monkey's are putting together the Magna Carta? That's not how programming works. There are no accidents in programming that aren't bugs, there are no accidents in computers, they are designed and gauged for specific tasks and functions. You modify .01% of a computers code outside of it's parameters, move a circuit board, put it under bad temperature conditions, things go wrong, it doesn't start thinking for itself, it does not have an existential breakthrough. There are no avenues of radical break-through success, what you're describing is the Wright brother's aircraft spontaneously becoming a F-22. There is no current reality where the science, computing structure, psychological knowledge, sensor data, and endless other data points that are lacking in Google, Amazon, and Microsoft's toolbox capability would make it a success. I would honestly advice connecting with people who actually know what they're talking about, not just people who share the general unfounded, unproven fear of the singularity. If someone believes in the singularity in my opinion, it's because they don't actually understand, and they aren't aware of the panoply of components that would be required to build such an item...pseudo lifeform.

      Trust me if you have seen what I have you would be worried as well. :) The public has no idea what is coming.

    • @TheBlackB0X

      @@RealitySurvival Remember that old saying, Trust but verify? I appreciate your dilemma, but I am not just "the public", and unless we have working Alcubierre drive, Q+ fusion reactors that are already stable and running and are about 50 years more advanced than ITER or DEMO, which are literally being built by the entire planet, and stack on about 50 years more psychometrics, neuroanatomy, stem cell protein synthesis with something between mNRA & a prion built by some sort of advanced CRISPR, then sure. What I hear when you talk about AI is a Star Trek computer that doesn't run on binary but runs on some sort of decision making assembly level hardware and software that somehow was invented, but not a single person outside of the government supposedly has ever seen, heard, or accidentally heard about? Ever heard about Vault 7? The fact that Vault 7 exists, is why I believe I am right. The software in there speaks for itself. There is no magic same goes for the PRISM program. I know so many more, and nothing is close to advanced to the things you have described. I am not easily impressed by hardware, server farms, fancy UI etc., there needs to be a there there. I have simply seen too much, and know plenty of people who would give the 3 letter agencies a run for their money, because they get recruited out of their pools, because the stuff you might call work , they do for fun. We're in a Ipv4 world JJ and they can't even migrate Ipv6 reliably.

    • @TheBlackB0X
      @TheBlackB0X 5 месяцев назад

      You know what CIDR notations are? How to do them, what a colossal waste they represent to network administrators around the world because someone can't properly migrate something on a patchable system they haven't figured out how to patch yet? :D

    • @RealitySurvival
      @RealitySurvival  5 месяцев назад

      Yep you actually are just the public. Sorry bubba. Because nothing you are talking about is even remotely close to what I am concerned about. Not even close.

    • @TheBlackB0X
      @TheBlackB0X 5 месяцев назад

      @@RealitySurvival So, you're saying that there's something that exists, that surpasses all private tech companies capabilities, and not even the Astronauts on the international space station, SpaceX/NASA don't even get access to it at all during their missions, that's some pretty magic tech JJ.
      And how does that square with allowing our debt, economy, geopolitics, energy production, healthcare? Did all the best and brightest get moved from keeping the United States from sliding off a cliff into building this magical technology? This makes zero sense as a long term strategy.
