Actually, I would say the opposite. Minimum maneuvering speed increasing the heavier you are. Also if you look at the EICAS they are performing the takeoff at 15% derated thrust. Pulling out my 747-400 AOM, TO - 2, with 20 degrees of flaps and a V2 of 171 (Going by the MCP SPEED window), Id say they had an MTOW about 770LBS or 350,000 KGS. Max MTOW of the 74F is 880kLBS, or 400,000 KGS.
After such a long time, since high school, I still miss the thing I always wanted to do. Sitting in the right seat, next to the captain, and enjoying every second. Maybe in the next life, Jannah, I will become a F/O.
As salamalleikum brother, unless you have a medical condition, you too can become a pilot in shaa Allah. If you don't want to become a pilot but still want the sensation, I'd recommend aerowinx PSX.
this is the first time i see a 747 take off without using the auto pilot function after take off. i can clearly see the pilot actually flying it manually until the video ended. im amazed.
i mean, the speed is obviously controlled by auto pilot as we can see thrust ref and vnav speed, but Flight Director (FD) is on so the pilot is climbing and turning the aircraft as desired. i liked to do that back in the flight simulator days, when i used to fly at ivao. i never used CMD green (only when nervous). its amazing see real pilots doing that.
Captain! You sure have one of the most outstanding channels in RUclips. It's impressive to see the 747 in action. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great job! Regards from Colombia.
The B-747 is one of the most successful commercial aircraft in history and never had a 'bail-out' moment in terms of sales. The mighty Scarebus A-380 is only flying because Emirates is the last customer interested in it. Nuff said.
+Lyle Luckett u will not hear hydro systems in the cockpit...it looks like to me stab trim was used, also sound is very similar to pilot seat position adjustment
1. How long have you been flying the 747-400 and freighters 2.Great videos3. If you know anything about pmdg i gonna be upgrading from the 737 to 747 somwhat can you tell thats somewhat helpful to understand about the 747. Sorry if its a dumb question lol.
Always been curious if the 4 fuel cutoff switches that are right down in the middle of all the radios etc in the center console have an interlock once the engines are running, so you can't accidently turn them off and kill your engines.. I've watched other 747 videos that show engine start and all I can see is there are 4 switches, that look like circuit breakers on the center overhead and the 4 fuel cutoffs and it appears thats all there is to starting the 4 engines on those beasts...
its a bit disconcerting how the engine fuel cutoff switches are located in such an exposed position under the throttle assembly, maybe they need to be activated by another switch to arm them, always thought that was a great spot to accidentally knock them and shut down a couple engines ! great video thanks again
Hi! First of all I'd like to congratulate you for your videos, are amazing! And now I have a doubt: I saw in your videos, that it looks like the pilots don't call "V1, Rotate, Positive Climb and Gear Up". I'd like to know if you pilots don't call it during the takeoff or if it to low that we how watch the video can't hear. That's it, thanks and continue sharing with us! :)
Hi, Thank you for your great reply. To answer your question: The pilots do certainly call out ''80kts, v1, rotate, positive climb and gear up'', but you can't hear them speak on take-off just due to overwhelming engine noise. Of course they can hear each other loud and clear through the headsets.
The pallet position. It starts with 1 and goes through the complete aircraft. 19 is more in the back. 19L is somewhere far in the back and on the left side. (R for right, L for left).
those are airspeeds that are calculated for each takeoff. V1 is the takeoff decision speed. The speed after which the aircraft can no longer stop on the runway, so takeoff must be continued even in case of a failure. Vr is rotation speed. The speed at which the pilot starts to lift the nosewheel off the ground in order to fly
Approximately, 8 minutes without engaging the autopilot.......why??!! How he changes heading & altitude while L/V nav keep illuminating (engaged )?? They should disengage since he doesn't follow FMC route plan...
This duo is amazing, I saw their incoming landing video on the same aircraft. And now what a pleasant flight, no passengers to bother with, a good rest in downtown Bangkok with perhaps a night hanging out with beautiful ladyboys, I'm sure they'll fight to stay on this route for life :D
It's not really to do with trust, as pilots we're trained to constantly monitor each other and what each pilot is doing. I could give you hundreds of examples of when both captains and first officers have gone to make silly mistakes. It's part and parcel of being a human, monitoring is what we do in the cockpit to mitigate those mistakes as much as possible.
I get it.Stevie Wonder was video taping this. OUT OF FOCUS BS. stop trying to zoom in on a very large plane on the runway. LOL Failure. Learn your camera before you use your camera.
The 747... greatest commercial aircraft ever built!
You said it pal.
I swear every 747 video I watch like this has the same dude as the captain
WOW! That 747 must be loaded!! Only 1600 fpm at 170 knot climb?!? Awesome video!

hats off to you captain good to see some oldskool manual flying of this big boy

This guy obviously loves to fly!
Henrique Duarte this capt always do👍😉🇳🇱
It's nice to see that most of the time pilot flies manually.

Agreed !! 4rm AFRICA.
Cheers !! Happy Landing
All these gripes about not using A/P after initial climb out....what exactly is wrong with flying manual????.....should be done more often
Bellissimi video molto emozionanti
Securing the cargo in place is the most crucial part of this, because if it shifts position during flight, bye bye!
Great channel, perfect to see manual flying! Yet, filtering the cockpit noise and allow the comms of the pilots to be heard would make it better
That airplane was really heavy!
Thanks for uploading this video, Great Job :)
Dat TO/GA button press doe
As nice as I thought

Ronald Simmons scarebus??? You are say fucking bullshit, you stupid idiot.
Fantastic.
Great video and channel! What is generating that sound starting at 5:37 during the takeoff roll?
that was sets settings sound.
What is the almost drill-like sound at 5:37?
+HalomasterA69 It could be the hydraulics system??
+Lyle Luckett u will not hear hydro systems in the cockpit...it looks like to me stab trim was used, also sound is very similar to pilot seat position adjustment
Good job
truly entertaining to watch this. sooo interesting
Nice video
Really a great video, keep it up buddy, amazing videos posted in
Nice looking pilots..
It took like 15 seconds from start to lift-off so you must know the power those motors put out!!
Good video....................
Great vid captain! ;) Echt super gedaan!! Keep Sharing!:)
That's very interesting video , I liked it , thank you for uploading
Very Good ! I' Brazilien

05.09 what is he doing with that button?? Im still confused about that button function in the throttle.....
By pushing that button the captain set the TO/GA (takeoff/go around) thrust. It is part of an auto-throttle system which is managed by the FMS.

+lvsluggo007 You actually have to pull them up (towards your hand, it's spring loaded) and then while pulling, you move them to the Cut Off position
its a bit disconcerting how the engine fuel cutoff switches are located in such an exposed position under the throttle assembly, maybe they need to be activated by another switch to arm them, always thought that was a great spot to accidentally knock them and shut down a couple engines ! great video thanks again
You have to pull them first
@@smokeybanditBBQ cheers frank didnt know that

How do you know when the tires are on the dotted line?!?
?
With these things called eyes:O
what is that shaking noise on takeoff
Which is heavier? fully loaded cargo plane or fully loaded passenger plane?
That is a trick question. Weight is weight. Both PAX and Cargo has the same MTOW, it doesn't matter how you get there.
Why did they accelerate to 300kt at just 5000 feet? Usually they go above 250kt over 10000 feet.
In certain airspaces you have automatically clearance for highspeed.
They follow FAA and ATC instructions and guidelines
What does 20L on the door mean? I saw 19L on Cathay Cargo 747 and wonder what it might mean.
The pallet position. It starts with 1 and goes through the complete aircraft. 19 is more in the back.
19L is somewhere far in the back and on the left side. (R for right, L for left).
Not named pallet position. That is Station number. There is also a Moment Position on the Load Plan. All Load Plans are done in Moments for CG.
So which is it? :-)
i saw Cambodian ankor air :)
I don’t know if this cap is by viewers called the brother of Clint Eastwood haha😄😄😄
Ok I might be wrong but a heavy 747 needs at least 150 mph to take off right??? so technically they reach that speed in less than a minute??? wtf....
What is V1 VR?
those are airspeeds that are calculated for each takeoff.
V1 is the takeoff decision speed. The speed after which the aircraft can no longer stop on the runway, so takeoff must be continued even in case of a failure.
Vr is rotation speed. The speed at which the pilot starts to lift the nosewheel off the ground in order to fly
That take off seemed slow from this perspective
So casually presses the TOGA button! haha
More like deliberately presses the TOGA..

Approximately, 8 minutes without engaging the autopilot.......why??!!

They should disengage since he doesn't follow FMC route plan...
LNAV and VNAV are engaged and providing input to the flight director for pitch and roll cues.
19R take off
Christmas light
they look like they are barely moving when taking off
Hmmmmm v2 set to 161 my guess they didn't fly nonstop to AMS from there but made another landing at another airport
He started rotating at 150 knots and at 95% N2... I would say he was quite light. You are right, likely had more to pick up elsewhere along the route.

you are not god camera man to REC :-/
You can tell the pilot has no trust whatsoever in the co-pilot.
It's not really to do with trust, as pilots we're trained to constantly monitor each other and what each pilot is doing.
