Songs like this, Indian Summer, I Can't See Your Face in My Mind, Your Lost Little Girl, etc. are my favorite of The Doors. I love their slow, haunting ballads.
the Doors at their best. The other three play their instruments w great skill. And Morrison?Fine singer w an unbeatable stage presence.Very beautiful man-gorgeous.
"funeralesque" WTF!? dude I give u props for the usage of that word, I think it's the first time I seen someone use it. TheLizardKing would probably approve.✌🏼
Y'all can see at 2:41, the amazing attunement, as Morrison hit the stage, between the singer and the audience; as they threw various items, he was able to capture a thrown necklace around his neck. Media treatments continue to play up the groggy druggy Morrison meme, but how many of y'uns would be so alert as the video documentary shows him to have been, to have speared this bead necklace as it was flung up on stage during the vicissitudes of a performance and captured it around your head? It shows you that the Doors were totally zoned in to the performance and were right there as it was happening (in this setting at least). That's why the finger was pointed...
I've always wondered how theDoors could have sounded back in the Whisky days and even when rehearsing in Venice beach, and I think this is perhaps the closes to it.
To me it's amazing that the mainstream crooners of the time - Sinatra, Martinn, Bennett, Peggy Lee, Mel Torme, Jack Jones and many others -- did not cover this. It's a mainstream song about loss and regret. Their arrangements would have been massively different, but the lyrics and the sentiment are 100% mainstream [with the exception of "millburn gold"].

Most of them lacked any imagination whatsoever- they were the Taylor Swifts/ Biebers of their day😆

Since the video obviously isn't for this song, which one is it?
Not much of a crowd appreciation for a great song.
Very small venue. Only a couple hundred seats. The Matrix.
I’ve always thought the doors produced the best rock funeral music of all time. Dark man 😐
Auch nach über 40 Jahre ist die Musik unerreicht!!!
WICKED!!!SON!!!!!!!
I didn't like this song because it reminded me of going back to school in September.
Believe it or not, one day you'll miss it, life is funny like that.
Someday soon pal...just matter of time.
