- In this edited video, I played the complete game and recorded all important scenes from SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated on PS4 and removed all the loading times to create a smooth, new and unique narrative with re-ordered scenes. What would it be like for battle for bikini bottom to not come out in 2003 and instead come completely new this year?
If it was completely new this year it wouldn’t have rehydrated in the name but it would have all the same graphics as the new rehydrated one because it’s 2020
It would also most likely have the current series’ humor and storylines. And considering how the show is now, i’m really glad we got it back then.

kind of disappointing to go from the super expressive animation of the SpongeBob’s Truth or Square video game back to super stiff looking animation, but now it doesn’t even have proper lip syncing like the original game.
The original _didn't_ have proper lip-syncing. This one does.
It was one of my friends' biggest complaints when I made her play the original a few weeks ago.

Well, they are using the original voice lines from the original game, so either way, clancy brown’s still not around for this, sadly.

They reused audio from the original, and when the original was getting made Clancy Brown (Voice of Mr Krabs) was voicing for Jak 2 at the time.

Damn I never realized how many of the characters on in Rock Bottom for some reason
now this remake is much more like it it's finally better than the ps2 :) I was never disappointed but this game got harder than before I already finished the single player mode but I have not finished the 2 player multiplayer mode the one with robot squidward yet.

I should have gotten the PS4 version. The graphics on the Switch version look terrible, especially during the dream level.

What did everyone think of this game then? Worth getting?
Yes. For nostalgia
No not really. It doesn’t really add anything new to the original outside of the multiplayer mode, which is really nothing more than a quick distraction. Actually, the remake removes content from the original, like the ability to view concept art in the Bikini Bottom Movie Theater. Also the overall presentation is rather lacking when compared to the original game. The art direction looks kind of amateurish and ugly when compared to the original which looks more like a faithful 1:1 translation of the show into 3D. Also a number of little things like character’s yelling ow when touching water/goo, NPCs making funny sounds when hit, and proper lip syncing during dialogue scenes are all absent in the remake.
TL;DR: The remake is a shoddier version of the original. You’re better off playing the original game instead.
It’s worth getting if you haven’t played the first one

Diss game sucks cuz they didn’t replace the voices of mermaid man & mr krabs
it doesnt suck they had to keep it like that because of legal/copyright issues
Crystal Velez so a licensed game is not legally allowed to use voices that are used in actual show that licensed them to make the game
Overall inferior animations and inferior artwork.
Inferior to what the original game? Because the animations and graphics far surpass the original game and this is coming from someone who played the original for years throughout their childhood. Only issue I have is the devs choosing not to have Clancy Brown record lines as Mr Krabs for this remaster.
