I thought it was just called robo Sandy and Robo Patrick.
@@typicalepic those are fanmade names for them
@@fitzgeraldsatori-gameplayi5552 oooooooh okay
I'm seeing everyone in this comment section saying that the old bosses look better but all I can see is how much more terrifying robo spongebob is
All of the robots were scarier, Sandy with the camera angle making her look bigger, Patrick with his color pallet and angry eyes during his idol animation instead of rehydrated’s neutral expression, and sponge bob with more faded colors in his design.
I mean the originals were scarier
JJ FRENZY not really, king jellyfish, Flying Dutchman, robot spongebob are scarier in the remake. Same could be said with Patrick and sandy’s new speed
@@jjfrenzy789 I dont care about if they was scary or not as a kid I sisnt find them scary at all... just hard, which the remake loses that charm to be challenging fluid is like I'm playing a PS5 Game With Less Of 30FPS -_-
DDLC king jellyfish and Flying Dutchman weren’t scary at all in either version
Have to say that I prefer the closer camera from the original, makes the fights feel more personal
Plus the lower camera angle for Robo sandy’s fight makes the robot look bigger
Same
Agreed
I’m about to play the old one
@@firstgalacticempire5664 wneyhieghe
Pros about the remake:
Spongebob Steelpants is fucking terrifying
Atmosphere is good
Cons:
Camera is too far
Robo patrick nightmare fuel went from 100000 to 50000
That's it
Especially the Kah-Rah-Tae.
Yah, robot Patrick looked like a bigger Patrick just with metal plates instead of skin, but now, he looks way too robotic and it doesn’t look intimidating at all, and there is way to much differences to actually Patrick, and he is way to colourful too, so he isn’t as dark now.
@@thesupervideogamenerdmore3171 Right?! They should've just left him with this grid thingy. BUT NO THEY HAD TO ADD THESE HORRIFYING TEETH!
The original Dutchman fight seems to be harder for how fast the lazer eye attack is.
Everyone talking about how worst tragedy is the boss battles, but fail to realize the tragedy of the game is the sound! The music and background ambience is way to quiet especially during ambushes and boss battles. Ruins the experience :(
*It made the prawn disco floor too quiet, and that is enough to make me mad.* (Also his bubble blower or sound wave attack is too loud.)
I prefer the original robot patrick and sandy
Because the bosses aren't so easy in the original
@@deadlyfaster7347 Tbh i was gonna say not really they haven't changed, then i went, oh wait sandy's elbow drop and butslam no longer have AOE, so then yeah... they really were easier
My thoughts exactly
Agreed better textures and design in the original
@@michaellatner975 wtf is aoe?
Not for nothing but the original had some more personality in how they moved so fluid sometimes, and the little detail of how Robospongebob tucks his other arms in more like Spongebob does when he chops compared to Rehydrated. I do appreciate their choice to make them feel more robotic though, that’s an interesting touch
Unpopular opinion, based on comments: I prefer the Rehydrated Bosses
King Jellyfish in rehydrated looks amazing. Solid gloss finish and his sting looks realistic
RIP Stephen Hillenburg the creator of Spongebob Squarepants.
Original patrick robot was more patrick but the remake patrick robot is more robot
Ikr
Old versions look faster or is it just me.
it's just you
Old versions definitely slower
OG Robo-Sandy was turtle speed momentum
I think robo plankton is slower in the new one
Just you. The ps4 version is sped up too much.
To the people contemplating on whether the newer or older bosses are better, I say that they're all unique in they're own ways. Yes it is a remake, but the developers wanted to bring back this game in the first place! The new bosses have a something new up their sleeves whether its speed or fast attacks, but in the end we can all agree that this was a gift made by amazing people!
Well thanks for that I really want the the new game so bad
Wait making the bosses child’s play is a good thing?
@@jjfrenzy789 If younger children want to play, yes. Everyone else, no.
@Kayla Thompson: then have the kids get smarter through trail and error instead of dumbing down the fights.
I HATE how robot patrick got nerfed so much.
He didn’t lmao he’s just as hard
I never played this so I don’t know for myself gameplay wise but ascetic wise yes that fight got nerfed a lot.
It did, before you didn’t have glowing red targets saying, “ hey stupid, step here and you’ll get hit by a projectile.” You had to run and eyeball trajectory of the projectiles in Robot Patrick. That’s an aesthetic I hate in the remake. Whatever happened to using your brain and eyes to know that you shouldn’t stand near Robot Sandy when she elbow drops, to jump to different platforms during Robot Spongebob’s attacks, or to not stand in the path of Robot Patrick’s goo.
@@UnderEarthFilms ikr
But robo Patrick ice breath has more duration on firing than the oringinal
New Robo SpongeBob looks the most menacing, glad they did him Justice
I prefer the look of the original. The orignal robot boss battles feel much more atmospheric in the original. Plus, I feel like the characters move slower in the remake.
I agree with the first statement but have a hard disagreement for the remake being slower. The remake made the bosses too fast and too colorful.
Even with the other bosses like the dutchman, the levels of the og game had better aesthetics
At least robo sandy is faster tho
@Jun Tadena: faster doesn’t mean better.
Robot sandy has a scary face...
The only things I noticably dislike about the remake bosses are:
1. Camera is too far back during Sandy fight.
2. Projectile destinations being highlighted
3. Robot plankton fires slower.
But other than that it's absolutely amazing. Especially:
1. The designs. Incredible.
2. The robot bosses are faster to attack in most cases. Especially noticable in Sandy.
3. Patrick's Goo Spin Attack looks chaotic.
Also the animations of the Robo-Sandy bossfight are ugly in comperisson to the original
they got rid of the ricocheting off the walls bit, loved him acting like a spin top
*Battle for Bikini Bikini Bottom Original:* Better processing power!
*Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated:* Better graphics!
Nope rehydrated is worse in both categories
JJ FRENZY you’re blind
JJ FRENZY you need help
JJ FRENZY you **insert insult here**
DDLC how
Hot take:
I like the old ones better.
I agree. I appreciate the attempt to update it but it just doesn't have the same soul as the original.
The final boss I understand
Its creepy as hell
Yeah I agree. Prawn and Dutchman were dumbed down. Robo Patrick and Spongebob feel very unfinished. I like the changes to Robo Sandy, but I wish they made the camera similar to how it was in the original. King Jellyfish is fine though.
The robot bosses in the original maneuver more humanely than the new ones which makes them stand out
The old one really don't have animation
I feel the mecha bosses lose their charm in the remakes to be honest. the gritty look is gone so they look allot less menacing and more like action figures.
Edit: i do like the updated look for the inbetween bosses, however.
Agreed
In my opinion, they just look like more refined robots
Apparently you can only find them once? Wtf?
The spongbob robot is way scarier now but the rest relied on the grittyness but that’s lost with robo Patrick and robo sandy.
Finally, a true comparison. Sankyuu
Am I the old one that miss the original Prawn fight more lol.
You’re not alone
I honestly like newer ones more, especially the robot ones in terms of design and attacks
I never beat the first one because I was like 4, and when I was inside of Spongebot Steelpants, i was scared of the eyes moving around from the inside lmao
It feels like the devs were tweaking with the difficulty, as if they were trying to add difficulty options, but removed it.
The Flying Dutchman fight definitely looked easier.
Definitely liked the graphics and color on the newer one, feels like it's out of a SpongeBob episode rather than the brown/gray industrial of the old.
That industrial look for the bosses was so much better than what we got with the remake.
@@jjfrenzy789 thats your opinion, but I think the details and color is awesome.
The way robo-Plankton in the original is like "LET ME SHOOT YOU ON SIGHT!!!!" while in the new version he's like "Lemme just take my time with this"
Both versions are pretty awesome, but the original will always have a special place. Maybe rehydrated is so different because Heavy Iron Studios never got the chance to remake it and instead made by purple lamp studios.
Yep for being much faster and fluid then a 8th gen console
In terms of included cut content, the only thing I see is Robo Squidward and that multiplayer mode is awful
If you look closely, those ice cream islands from multiplayer are actually modeled after Patrick's original dream level, so that's another example of the cut content.
No that mode was awesome. But that's just your opinion
The only crime in Rehydrated is the lack of announcer support in the final boss.
That was bug that the announcer not there they already fix that
Yeah I had the announcer when I fought robo spongebob
@@wackywakko6694 lol dont care abot the fishious announcer just about the difficult and game's fluid it does terribly bad for being a long awaited remake I remember that peeps asked for it at early 2014
@meh: while that is a crime I guarantee it’s not the only one.
I remember growing up with this on gamecube. I bought the remaster and honestly, very much worth the nostalgia trip.
Like for ps2
Sorry but Robot SpongeBob is better in the original. Mainly the Kah Rah Tae! part. He just snaps to you in the remake while in the original he turns.
IMO, he looks more uncanny in rehydrated. Which is better, given he's supposed to be an evil robot replica.
@Jaxsen T Design wise it's fine. It's the movements that just rub me the wrong way.
@@MOORE4U2 the OG eyes from spongebob was awkward looking but it constrats withthat replica looking the new eyes looks like the Lego umbrella piece but... clearl Blue if they could add that old texture mixed with the new model... would be much better but eh its Nickelodeon they never cared about their games to be the highest quality from the hardware can possibly handle
I prefer the blue eyes because we cannot see the inside part
You can also hear the sound effect for kah rah tae every time the attack is performed while in the remake it happens just once no matter how many times the attack is done.
The new final boss one looks way more intimidating to me with the way it’s mouth is more puppet like and the more soulless eyes
Although his movements are too snappy and jerky even for a robot, the flame looks fake as frick, and the speaker texture for his mouth is just plain black now.
@@jjfrenzy789 you're right about everything else but do you realize that the speaker's not supposed to be there in the remake
@Caedicius Matson: who is speaker?
I think they wanted to make the remake more appealing to kids. The originals have more atmosphere and creepyness. So If you prefer one over the other, just play that one and don't push down the other because it doesn't fit YOUR needs
The spongebot laughing attack is terrifying
He’s not laughing he’s saying karate
JJ FRENZY SHUT UP NERD HAHAHAHA

SpongeBot Steelpants :cuz he looks more robot than rehydrated and ka ra te is the most LOUDEST THING LIKE BRUH
Patrick bot:cuz his look is kind of terrifiying? I think it's better than rehydrated
Sandbot cheeks :I really like the Eyes of it and it's more better of a camera angle
A company remade a commercial game that is very popular from the ground up and put alot of work and love into the remake and yall are still not happy? You guys need help, the game looks very good and they did this game great. Its very faithful to the original game and deserves the love. They could of ruined the game but they didnt. They kept it mostly the same while tweaking some stuff. You have to understand they are modernizing it for kids nowadays. I think everything looks amazing and realistic. They did a great job and dont need you guys nitpicking every little that doesnt matter. The game is still challenging so why does it matter? A new generation can now discover this game and love it just like us.
They all look great but
Robot sandy looks weird
Original or remake?
How ?
dear sir dear you eyes are no longer green, and why is her tail on fire?
@Zeal Kurusu the Gatorman: remake
Remake
I’m not the only one who thinks rehydrated looks much easier compared to the original, right? Some things also look kind of... unfinished?
The Reason It Looks Unfinished Is Because Walmart released an Early Build, day 1 patch should fix some things
Is say it’s easier simply cuz as a kid ur like “what r u doing” but as an adult he like “data acquired and processed”.
Definitely, especially noticed it with the second Kah Rah Teh sound missing.
@@nicolasjamo yuh so many sound effects missing lack of game play speed and fluidity and lackluster difficulty and some graphics issues example the game intro the goo lagoon sign is horribly blurrier then the PS2 Ver and etc. Really lets this game as one of the non worthy to buy... still it is better If compared To Pokemon Sword And Shield + with it's "expansion" passes you pay much less for this game then the whole "full" game of pokemon's newest titles so I mean why not at least that'll keep yall away from whore and shutout I wouldn't buy it rather install the dolphin emulator and play this game at the GC Version since I have melee and other cool games at the list then waste reasonable amount of money with this worthless remake, exception might be crash N. Same trilogy since it makes games not that easier and the fluid still there and what can I say about its counterpart Spyro... not that the big deal so I let ya in your choice folks lol
@Nicolas Jaramillo: and third
I say the original models look better
You and everyone else
JJ FRENZY everyone?
DDLC everyone with a functional brain for art and texture
JJ FRENZY lmao textures are 10 times better in the remake same with the art
@DDLC if any are even used. Look at the robot Patrick the goo no longer has a texture unless boxes are in it, the fight itself is too colorful and bright compared to the original, the ice attack isn’t remotely the same and doesn’t even come out of his mouth, and this evil idle look from the original is replaced with a neutral expression in his idle animation.
The robots in to original has a much more darker color palette, making them scarier, i still like the bosses in this game it’s just something I noticed
It's hard to say how much of it was intentional in the original, due to the limited tech at the time. Because the whole game looks too dark (to me at least). On the other hand, the remake in some areas is too bright and way too foggy.
Is sad when ps2 Flying Dutchman ghost smoke look scarier than the ps4 version
Yes, you know what’s more sad? The fact that a lot of not all the bosses look and fight better in the Ps2 version.
I like the new robots looks, the old ones looked like metal statues that shouldn't be able to move.
This is cool and all, but id prefer a Spongebob The Movie game remake
Same imagine the giant angler fish boss (is that old lady monster a angler fish?)
How dare you the movie game sucks this game rocks!
@@tashakeesler9824 how dare he have an opinion? Let someone say something yeesh bro
@@lucentjad2941 compared to the movie games sorta lefts to wish for but if comparing the movie game with this slow aberration of remake the movie game has a clear win
@Natasha Bishop: which version? Be careful there is only one right answer.
I'd have to say robot spongebob is a lot more scary in the newer version, the original was more expressive and moves more familiar to spongebob so you know that it still had some familiarity to the main character, but the newer ones eyes are mostly black, it dosent have the speaker for a mouth anymore and moves a lot more stiff like, which in my opinion looks a lot more robotic and intimidating in this instance. I like the design.
Yeah.
8:42 That effect looks so much cooler in the original
Who else likes the final boss more in the newer version just because it's scarier and actually reminds them of a final boss?
Just me? Ok
It's not just you, many others, including me, have said he looks more scary in the remake.
All these bosses look like they got nerfed
They got made easier and I hate it
@Why did my Wife leave me: Same with everyone
Mostly SpongeBot.
What I hear all day: *KAH- RAH- TAE!*
What I hear: HA HA HA
I prefer Robo spongebob laughing each time Kah-Rah-Tae comes out his mouth. It makes it more intimidating.
His laugh also lacks the echo, that was in the original.
Cranky Andrew Creates I didn’t even notice that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!!!
"Scary" yeah sure, ooooh I can't sleeo anymore.
I like that in the remake the robots have more obvious mechanical parts, like Robo Patrick's and Spongebob's mouth, the original Patrick looks like he just has a metallic patches over him.
I dont know but I feel like they could have done this remaster better, still look awesome
I’m convinced all the people complaining haven’t actually played the remake yet
True I haven’t but I’ve seen footage of gameplay from both versions and looking at design, ascetic, animation, etc the remake is much worse.
JJ FRENZY Then why are you constantly complaining about the game. You’ve commented 50 times or something here that you don’t like the remake. I’ve played the remake and it’s actually really fun and just like the original it has it’s issues. It pretty much plus exactly like the original but with some differences and the difficulty was more in the levels than bosses.
@@jjfrenzy789 Yeah, mostly nah. Design...well, sometimes it's worse, like with Robo Patrick, but usually it's good, IF THEY WOULD ONLY REMOVE THESE RED RINGS THAT TELL YOU WHERE ROBOTS WILL ATTACK THAT'LL BE GREAT! Aesthetics...I mean, sometimes it's too bright, like at the Goo Lagoon and at the Industrial level. Animations wise, I don't know what you're complaining about, especially the animations in the conversations are... *DELICIOUS*
@Maxim Friesen: I’m not saying the entire game has less animation, textures, and aesthetics but the bosses definitely have a problem with those categories.
I wish, Spongebob Globs of Doom has a remake too :(
Original Spongebob Steelpants:looks almost like Spongebob
Remake Spongebob Steelpanta: a demon version of Spongebob. The blue eyes and the way his mouth moves when he says Kah-rah-tae is disturbing.
I prefer the original game's graphics because it has its own " Cartoony stile"
The inside of Robo Spongebob looks way better in the original. It looks more like you’re inside of an evil, industrial place, which it is supposed to be. In the remake things just look way too saturated and bright and doesn’t have the same feel
...
what i just figured out is that you can’t replay boss battles, i would always replay the spongebob and patrick battles, but now when you try to play them it’s just the empty arena
Dude, the same happened to me, I hope they provide a future update where you can do the robot bosses again. Me personally, I think the robot fights are the most fun in the game.
I like the new design for all the bosses except Patrick and Sandy, and I like the new design for Robo SpongeBob the most. He looks scarier lol
Yes robot spongebob
One difference about most of the bosses aside from looks is that their attacks are actually faster, not only that sometimes the hit boxes are messed up
I think the remade designs are all really good, but I hate how many of these fights and sections of the game look like they got neutered in difficulty. I especially hate that Robot Patrick is the worst case of it.
I personally thought spongebot steelpants was the worst case of being too easy. Being the final boss.
Old Robot Bosses: Not Scary But Faster Attack
New Robot Bosses: Scary But Slower Attacks
I believe you have the titles reversed good sir.
@@jjfrenzy789 Thx
Robot spongebob enters his reference pose in the rehydrated.
Something that i don't like about the remake in all areas of the game is the sound mixing, voices are incredibly loud in boss battles but the music is too low.
Man I wish the game wasn't rushed By Nick so we could have the added in cut content levels and the robo Squidward boss in the story
I like how everyone says that the remake bosses are easier.....
Maybe they are easier because you guys have played the game before and know what to expect?
Or the bosses literally have flashing warning signals that say, “I’m attacking here, you better get out of the way or you’re a dumbass.”
It's kinda both, tbh.
Hate how remakes makes things softer and slower gets rid of the adrenaline, Crash didnt overloaded with these flaws but it took for me a long time to know if it kept the OGs details and spyro's... CTR in le other hand... really leaves awkward changes but eh cant complain it obviously added online multiplayer :P
@X-Tray Unleashed: actually the bosses are faster but they are more predictable
#lawofequivalentexchange
The PC version will always be the superior version.
Nope console warp glitch is better
@Dragonball Haven: use glitches and you get stitches.
JJ FRENZY HAHA NERD HAHAHAHAHA
@Jun Tadena: so I am a nerd, what’s your point?
Yeaaah, now that I've looked back at it....no. The fact that I enjoyed that as a kid...Idk what to say.
Its nice to see how far we hav come
And and how much the remake sucks in comparison.
SpongeBot Steelpants and Robo Sandy are scarier then Robo Patrick in Rehydrated
Robo Patrick spin attack doesn’t have the same sound effect that sucks
It also always ends in the same spot and facing the same direction
JJ FRENZY SHUT UP NERD HAHAHAHA
@Jun Tadena: is “shut up nerd” the only phrase you know? It’s not that clever.
I've got tired of people saying the old one is better -_-
I feel like the robot sandy and spongebob boss designs were fine as they were
Does anyone find that the playable characters repeat voice lines too much?? I find that honestly annoying. The Flying Dutchman’s fight is way more easier now and the final boss aka the sponge. Is way to easy I find. Also I really don’t like Patrick’s fight either. I really liked the fact that you had to find out where his projectiles were going and make a decision. Sandys fight I can live with, but!! The animation is so choppy and just lazily put together that it loses it charm. I can see what they were doing and I applaud the team. This game is not easy to remake. There are so many elements in this game that they were bound to remove or forget things, also making the game child friendly. The original game was for kids after all!! Not for adults like we are now.
I didn't like how they said the same two to three lines every single time you would get a health pick up. They also should have not made the bosses easier.
they put so much detail in the robos
Some how some of the bosses do look a bit better in the original PS2 version like the final boss and even Robo Sandy. The original Intro for Prawn felt a bit more in tune with the overall level while the new one felt a bit lacking.
Okay I agree somewhat with spongebot but sandy was worse, her pure green eyes are gone, the character animation has no character, and her tail and mouth are on fire for some reason.
BFBB was the first game I ever owned and I'm thoroughly enjoying Rehydrated, but the bosses (especially Sandy) are a pretty big step down and suffer from numerous bugs
In the original, I'm more scared
Robot plankton did nothing at all in the rehydrated, in the original he shoots laser you have to dodge now he just floats there doing nothing,
I know he shoots laser too but he took soo long
Yeah.
bro i feel so nostalgic
I get the complaints about robo P & S but honeslty I prefer the look of the new robo S more. Love the blue eyes as well as the inside of him. Overall I love the game despite a few gripes.
The Remake Definitely Looks and plays Much Better, Even Though It's Broken in the gameplay Because its an early build! JJ FRENZY, please dont reply.

@@Hydra_X9K_Music I dont doubt that this game could run perfectly in a handheld console like the 3DS Or PSV
@@yourdailysadisticfolkfromi6619 i think it could too. Although the textures might be a bit muddier and the draw distance wouldnt be as good either. But i think it would work nonetheless

Seems as though the Flying Dutchman doesn’t attack very fast anymore. Also wish you couldn’t hit robot plankton without the cruise bubble and that he shot at you for a longer duration of time.
Eh. Some aspects look better in the original, other aspects look better in the remake. The pacing of each fight, for example, is better in the remake; However, The camera(and a bit of the sound mixing) is better in the original. I somewhat prefer Robo-Sandy's and Patrick's designs in the original, but prefer Robo-Spongebob's design in the remake. What ever the case, it can go both ways.
I prefer most of the original fight with the spongebot steelpants fight, like they could have kept the moving eyes and the actual world outside.
Orginal is more difitcult you can`t se vere is atack go
Please edit, I can’t understand this
Although I prefer the more 'mechanical' movement and designs for the robot bosses in the remake, the camera just isn't doing it for me; in that sense the original is still has it beat. Though the pace for each fight has been greatly improved in the remake so I'll give it that.
in the rehydrated Spongebot Steelpants is not doing his idle animation and the "KAH - RAH - TAE" sound only play like once,
Robot Plankton in Boss fight is easier to hit him,
Robot Patrick's Boss fight Arena is smaller now neither Robot Sandy too,
Robot Patrick Got Nerfed at the Spinning attack Is Slower and His Other Attacks is Faster now,
Robot Sandy is Also nerfed, her attack are not area damage anymore.
I like the original second part of spongebob steelpants better because if you look in his eye’s in the original it looks like he’s looking around the lab. Now he doesn’t. Not like this matters but I played the gamecube version on my wii.
I noticed the angles are different when you fight the flying Dutchman and Robo Sandy.
Robo Plankton got nerfed hard. He barely shoot you, and when he shoot his bullets are smaller and easier to dodge.
I honestly prefer the original more.
The animations on the new models don't look like they're moving smoothly compared to the old ones. Maybe that's just me?
i love how they remastered the game, but i hate how they made the cycles faster for the bosses. and i hate how colorful they are
In what world is an enhanced version of something being more vibrant and colorful a bad thing?
@Your Local Cash Register: that washed down look was so much better than what we got in the remake, if phone brightness has taught me anything it’s that there is such a thing as too bright.
They also made the parts of the cycles more predictable and took away textures instead of adding them. See Robo Patrick fight for evidence.
Washed down? What does that even mean?
@@yourlocalcashregister1123 washed down, meaning, not as bright, darker colors. the original had a creepy vibe, especially in dutchman's graveyard and robo patrick, but in rehydrated they made everything brighter and more vibrant, which took away the sp00kiness
All though there's some changes that i don't like about the game it's still a great game and a great remake
The original was so much better. The bosses felt so menacing and animated. Now they’re just stiff and clunky...
Ok boomer
@@nicolewatterson2893 ok millennial
