easily one of the most underrated speedgames for sure, its crazy how all of these glitches were found and even more crazy learning how they work!
Its also nuts how much better Shift is then second place. Shows how insanely difficult the game really is. He has a 2 minute lead on WR.

@@lslees_6192 Oh absolutely not. They are still out of this world skilled. Shift is just another being(not to mention he does have a ton of time in the game, but still completely nuts to watch)

I remember watching a video about speedrunners of this game getting Xboxes with specific disc drives so they could get faster loading times. That's how you know people take this game seriously.
Because of the difference in load times between specific disc drives, we actually decided to allow people to just rip the game straight to the hard drive and run it off of that. Much more consistent that way.

@feIon I think my only issue is the shadows. Im still cutting the game slack tho since it came out in 2003.

@@St33lStrife Eazy even mentions him in the video and he's linked in the description... He's the WR holder for this game and is actually doing daily streams speedrunning it to create more crazy times
He found most of the tricks for the game
He made a lot of videos on YT explaining how to speedrun this game which Eazy used for this, also telling the history how all this happend and currently he's uploading a series where he explains how all of the current tricks work that Eazy isn't even using here
The game route changed a lot compared to the one Eazy is using

One of the most popular and active speedrun communities. Great to see you tackle it.
I learned 2 major things watching this. 1.) This is one of the coolest speedruns I've ever seen, and 2.) Rehydrated really improved the graphics way more than I remembered lol. the bug that removed the hand completely is like my childhood dream lol because I always wanted to just walk to jellyfish fields or downtown in the background even though it's just a small scale "in the distance" type of thing (which is something I loved about this game.)

Some of the top tricks are absolutely insane
Using the Any% tutorial route from 2 years ago (and excluding a few tricks as well)
And even then it's this hard. The WR run is 80% frame perfect tricks I swear

I cannot believe I finished this game as a 7/8 year old. I just played the remake on Switch and the Dutchman/Kelp Forest/Dream levels are such a sudden difficulty spike! Very cool vid, wasn't expecting to sit through and watch the whole thing!

I'm really happy to see a speedrun of the game that doesn't involve just glitching to the end game boss, and insta killing it.
I personally prefer speedruns that go through as much of the game as possible while still being fast.

I just watched someone speedrun a spongebob game, I love this channel

Special note on the puzzle at 15:30. The solution works because of the following: Each button press rotates three towers, hence when all buttons are pressed once, each tower eventually goes through 3 rotations (on, off, then on again).
