Damn, I always heard this game was good, but I'm honestly amazed at how creatively they blended elements from the show into the game. This game looks like it's right up there with Psychonauts as one of the best platformers of the generation.
It's a fantastic platformer collectathon. With the remake coming along with a new psychonaught. We are heading into the remake gold age

although somehow spongebob is incredibly cursed

It does make a really nice speed run though.

someone forgot to mention that the current speedrunners use specific Xboxs to get the fastest load times (ones with a specific optical drive, of which there are 4) and that to reliably get some lag clips, they have to dirty specific parts of the disk to slow down those specific load times. crazy shit. the guy who first had crazy time saves through these methods didn't do it on purpose and was dubbed a cheater for his load times, before further investigation found that it was his poor disk cleaning and his luck of having one of the fast Xboxs.
Edit: they now use a copy of the game on the hard drive of the Xbox, eliminating this cool time save

yeah, it's kinda crazy how they have to softmod the xbox to play the game from the hard disk lol. I can't wait to get a network adapter for my PS2 so I can play games from its Hard Drive/SSD

That brings back memories of my sister and me in elementary school playing the first couple levels over and over again, because we didn't understand what the hell we were supposed to do. Good times, and seeing a speedrun of it makes it even better.

It's insane how the run has changed in a year. For example, instead of using hand disable to run around the outside of the Hub world to Sandy's treedome, now Shift goes to Downtown, uses Spongeball storage to get to a tiki stack with Shhh Tikis, hops ontop of the stack when the stack shrinks, deploys into ball form and rolls off. As the Tiki stack expands, Shift pauses the game and switches to The Hub world. I believe it's it's a first frame possible jump, Shift jumps as the game loads, causing the momentum of the expanding Tiki stack to stack with his jump, flinging SpongeBob high into the air, way above the invisible barriers, allowing Shift to land on top of Shady Shoals to grab the spatula, jump down to the sock in the fountain, into Sand mountain.
I know it wasn't your intention, but this puts me to sleep instantly. Thanks for your help with my insomnia!
