    I've sold about 1500 items on ebay and I've had to cancel two items that I just couldn't find. One of the two, I found a week later and relisted for the same buyer at a discount. The other has not been found since. That buyer was gracious enough to not leave negative feedback.

    Your mistake(s) show your integrity sir!!
    That is a virtue that is had to find most of the time these days!
    I praise you for that!!
    I’ve sold books on-line (Mercari)… and I made a few mistakes when pricing. That’s just it… it was MY mistake! Not the buyers!
    I have had offers higher on books after, they have sold but, before I have shipped!
    Being honorable and honest shows my integrity! That means more to me than the $100s I’ve lost in sales!
    What can I say… when I paid cover price and sell the book for $50 rather than $150…. I still made a profit!

    I sold a 60s baseball card that is roughly worth $50 on an eBay auction, and it sold of $8 (including shipping). Was I bumbed? Yes. Did I cancel the transaction? Hell no. That customer got an amazing deal; I just didn't do enough research before going live. It sucks for me but that doesn't mean it was a bad transaction.
    Thank you for the informative video!

      I feel for you.... that stinks. Wouldn't that result really mean that it was really worth around $10 or so?

    • @AutomaticComics

      Auction sales often go well below fixed prices. You can have large ranges in values for things like comics and cards depending on the sales method. It’s not highly efficient like the stock market

    • @PNWCardsNComics
      @PNWCardsNComics 15 дней назад

      @MrJoebangleec that depends on how we value the card, and I'll admit my logic is very biased lol.
      There haven't been any comps for the card in over 5 years, and none were a PSA 10 population of 1, like this card was. The last two sales were a PSA 8 in 2012 for $15 and a PSA 9 for $36 in 2018. I feel it's worth $50. Arguably, I'm wrong because it sold for under my valuation, but I like to think that's just a win for the customer.

      @AutomaticComics Exactly. This is why I've not done an auction since. I'm far too ignorant of best practices to maximize the potential outcome. I'll probably try again in the future once I'm educated myself more =)

    Sellers canceling transactions after realizing the price was too low isn't a new thing. Ebay sellers have done this to me multiple times. Ive made complaints with ebay and eventually got a refund only after getting the run around from them. The seller's for the most part keep operating in business as usually without any real penalty

      If you’re a seller you know how much negative feedback can hurt your store on eBay. It doesn’t take many for eBay to start sharing your listings less. It can also impact the fee you pay to eBay. So you may not see it on the outside, but it does hurt the sellers. You do have an impact if you report those issues.

    Thank you for sharing a lot of basics for new buyers - if it’s too good to be true…. (Oh please remind everyone you might not get the same grade for a re/slab….). Appreciate it as always - thank you. Sorry - remember everyone books are coming down so be patient but jump on the deal for your budget!

    Hi Ryan, thanks for the video. I’ve had a few bad experiences lately on eBay. A number of cancelled sales after payment. One said he couldn’t find the book he sold to me. One said that he sold the book and forgot to take it off of eBay. Another seller just sent me the wrong book and had no interest in sending me the book I purchased. Seems to be getting worse. Also, I wanted to mention that if you buy anything from Mutant Beaver Comics, you might as well resign yourself to never getting what you purchased. They currently owe me over $100 worth of merchandise (since November) and they won’t respond to my emails. They’ve also sent me incomplete orders, wrong orders, and damaged orders. They’re a disaster. I had submitted a bunch of orders last fall and found out too late that they’re a horrible seller. Live and learn. Have a good night.

    Big gamble just to have the custom label; would have been kicking themselves if it came back at a 9.2.

    • @AutomaticComics
      @AutomaticComics  16 дней назад

      I agree. But I’ve seen people send in high dollar 9.8s (like 10s of thousands) to get a custom label. People like what they like. Maybe they don’t understand the real risk that goes with that. Or they don’t care.

    or you can just reverse search an image for free and it will show you if it's been used somewhere else. instead of paying for a subscription just to look at picture's . this should be common sense but i understand some people may not know or lack the knowledge. scammers having been doing for this for a long time, this is not new.

    • @AutomaticComics
      @AutomaticComics  15 дней назад

      Google definitely does not retain all images from sales. Especially since eBay drops its sales after 3 months.

      @@AutomaticComics Google might not but the wayback machine probably does. Google is just one of the many search engines out there. I would agree that just simply using google will not be enough. I think if you use multiple search engines along with the wayback machine and OSINT you can start to see where those pictures have been used if they have been posted before. For the ones who are more highly skilled in computers then they can use kali linux to dig deeper. I mean it's not that difficult. I think in this era of technology its important to learn about computers and cybersecurity and technology in general so that we may use it to our advantage to stay safe from scammers and hackers.

    As a seller you can block buyers on eBay, but I don't believe you can block sellers as I buyer. At least if you can, I'd like to know how. There's a seller that that's listing the same overpriced item every other day, and I'd like to block them just so I don't see their listing anymore o_O

    • @AutomaticComics
      @AutomaticComics  16 дней назад +2

      The way I block them is I use specific saved searches for all my comic searches on eBay. You can filter out sellers within those saved searches.
      Like there was this one seller that was constantly listing these facsimiles of books I was interested in, so I filtered them out in my saved searches.

      No idea. I didn’t see a comment from you. RUclips randomly deletes comments all the time if it thinks you are a spammer or you put a URL in it or use curse words, etc.
      I had to post a short about it because people would think I deleted their comments.
