50 years ago all the Northern suburbs were considered far outside of the city and were not considered fancy at all. Parktown North, Parkhurst, Rosebank and Dunkeld were all old working class suburbs. People realised then that Rosebank was going to become the new business hub and started buying old houses and renovating them. Property values slowly increased as Hyde Park and Sandton also developed into business hubs. So these areas are now centrally situated to shops, schools and businesses, all very convenient, as well as being well established with infrastructure. Because many of the properties were larger than those closer to the old city they became sought after for subdivision or complex development. Those are prickly pears! really very lekker, lots here in E Cape. That parkland area is the green belt along the Braamfontein Spruit, looking absolutely gorgeous, I am so happy to see it has been preserved. Very interesting walk, thanks
@@juliamilford1979 Morning there🤗 Very deep valuable insights. Had no idea at all and many will learn from you. I noticed some old houses and made me wonder. Now you just answered me😀 Thanks @Julia, merry Christmas once again 😊🎁🎁
