Dream Theater - Panic Attack (Expert+)

- Couple of friends and I put this together, well, it was mainly them, lol, but I made teh fricken CD Label for FoFiX so that counts
~READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING~
So, since I keep receiving an extremely high amount of unintelligent comments and questions, allow me to clarify some things:
1.) Rock Band released a free trial of "Audition Mode", Audition Mode is basically what song writers would use to review their charted songs before releasing them onto the "Rock Band Network", the Rock Band Network, is basically where artists can sign up for 100 dollars a year, and be able to chart out their own songs for Rock Band and release them to the world if Rock Band has not already asked for permission
2.) With this free 1 year trial, most people used this as a way to be able to play Custom Songs on Rock Band 2, instead of really signing up to get songs up on Rock Band. Audition Mode has a built in "Autoplay" feature, meaning every note will be hit automatically, it's much different than the "Bot" system in Guitar Hero 3, "Bots" can miss notes if they're too much for it to handle, but normally, it'd have to be extremely ridiculous for it to miss, "Autoplay" will never miss a note, no matter how fast it is
3.) This video presents the Rock Band 2 chart of Panic Attack by Dream Theater with a little twist from my friends and I, for those of you who are n00bs and are not aware, all of the Rock Band on disk songs have been ripped from the game, and the .mid files were leaked along with their song file. A .mid file is a file that contains the notes you see you have to hit in the game
4.) After obtaining these ripped files, I opened the isolated drum master track, meaning I was able to hear the drum line of the song all by itself with nothing else to interfere
5.) I then proceeded to make the Expert chart of the song an Expert+ chart of the song, for those n00bs who don't realize this, Rock Band undercharts everything so it's playable with one pedal, so if you're a righty, all of the left pedal hits in a song are gone, if you're a lefty, all of the right pedal hits in a song are gone
6.) The program used to edit/make charts is called Feedback, there are other programs out there such as Editor on Fire, Reaper, chartEdit, etc...
7.) We simply added the left base pedal (or right base pedal if you're a lefty) into the spots they undercharted for the Expert chart
8.) After finishing that, we released it for everyone who has two pedals to enjoy the Expert+ version of Panic Attack by Dream Theater

yesh Drumming is extremely difficult and tiring. It works out the entire body making drummers use crap loads of stamina, which is why often times drummers are exhausted after playing and get sweaty. It's pretty much a work out.
This is also one of the hardest drum songs in the game. Portnoy's a beast.

if you dont suck at footwork you can do some "double bass" parts with just one foot, the parts with constant double bass you cant though. plus this is expert+, you can 100 on expert with only one foot
Singers vocals actually go in hand with the song I like it
If there is someone singing this (and it sounds like there is) they've got quite a voice.

This looks like a lot of fun. If had to pick between the regular Rock Band version and this, I think I would choose this every time!

Had to stop by this video and other customs because i love the drum tracks.
You'd think that if they took the time to add in all the extra bass pedals left out normally, they'd also fix all the missed notes that Harmonix didn't put in. Well, I would. :) either way, kind of fun to watch to see what Portnoy does in the song, really shows how crazy it is.

@tmb5293 The lack of the use of star power by the bot eliminates any ability to get a band multiplier, which is essential for getting 5*/5G* in Rock Band.

@Kazamuru this is a feature on Rock Band called Audition Mode, it is not normal game play and every instrument in this video is being autoplayed, or a bot is another term, in Audition Mode you can disable Drum Fills which also disables Overdrive, this is just a preview of my Expert+ chart for Panic Attack, this is not a run or anything, just a preview video

I know, this is one of my favorite songs because of that! I LOVE it when the BASS gets to go crazy and really be one of the main parts of the song.

I know right? especially since it'd fit into almost any badass Boss Battle since the whole point is them trying to kill you, that's bound to make the person fighting the boss feel scared/ terrified on the inside. Making this fit perfectly.
if you didn't already know, there's a messed up bass pedal in the song as well, not my doing, Harmonix fucked that up, it's supposed to be a Blue note and a Kick put together, but you have to hit the Blue first and the Kick right after to hit it, Harmonix fucks up more than you'd know, they're just humans like you and I

@KkahluaHero actually yes, Harmonix want all songs to be FCable with one foot. there are 16th and even 32th bass kicks in Rock Band, which can count as double bass kicks. even so, its still possible to hit them with one pedal cuz of the hit window, although its very tough to pull off...

@advancedpwng they don't "want" that's just how it's supposed to be, they chart one pedal because not everyone will own double bass, they don't want to make the songs FCable because some stuff is hard as is, though This Calling was terribly charted for one pedal, but yeah
@tmb5293 Despite his response, I believe the answer you were looking for is the fact that the bot can't use overdrive hence the reason why it only got 4 stars. It's all about the points and since there was no OD to boost the multipliers they didn't get enough points for 5 stars let alone 5 gold stars. Does that answer your question?

idk why you would comment on that, because if you read the title, I only charted Expert+, if you knew what Expert+ was, you'd know that means "double bass" instead of just one pedal, meaning I did not look over anything else BUT the double bass ... if there's a missing snare go blame Harmonix, not me

lol the original is accurate for 1 pedal, all we did was add the double bass kicks that they intentionally took out to make the song possible for one foot, because not everyone who plays Rock Band owns a double bass pedal
I dunno if its illegal to say, but I just played through this on my Xbox and it was freaking AWESOME. I dunno if this is charted correct on Pro Drums, I played Pro Drums, seemed fine though the blue note roll at 6:45 wasnt chatd as blue cymbal, the only error for pro drums I guess.

@bgg22bdrtyg rockband charted this song without extra bass kicks cuz i think they want to make every song fc'able with one foot. they have a seperate double bass extension just to make 16 bass notes easier to hit. but i agree, this is how u correctly chart a song.

Why did the drums never have the option to do fills/overdrive? and why was no one else doing overdrive? In addition, how did they not get 5 stars?
I played this on Expert on Guitar and Bass, I can get past the hardest parts but I always, ALWAYS fail right before the freaking solo, even the star power was useless.😐

And hey, at least mike P has two other bands right now, flying colors and adrenaline mob so I gues he's doing alright. he wasn't allowed to stay in avenged sevenfold either but apparently that was because the members didn't want a super famous drummer to steal the spotlight
