- The kit I'm playing on is a Roland TD-4kp. I'm on XBOX One and use the Madcatz 360 Midi Pro Adapter with the PDP Wired Legacy Adapter to play RB4 with this kit.

@@judobigdog7683 I could play drums before I played Rock Band, but I didn't realize how crappy my sense of timing and rhythm was until I started getting killed on songs I thought I could play.

@@DaltonGoesSlow nope, rockband 3 has a lot of options of gameplay like pro bass or pro guitar but ar awfully implemented, thats why for harmonix take every "pro" option in rockband 4 a side of the pro drums of course

@KangGang Full Combo means you keep your note streak for the entire song. Basically a way to show how you've mastered a song (I guess?) and hitting all the notes without overhitting

happy to see panic attack in rb4, is it a free song? or do you have to buy a lot of music for the game?
Pretty sure that it comes from the rb2 export pack, meaning that if you never owned a copy of rb2, you can't get the song. I might be wrong though.

I bought an electric drum set on an impulse. Would rock band be a good way to learn to play and have fun?
Kyle Hosker yes. This is how I learned. I just set my laptop up in front of me, plugged the headphone jack from laptop to aux on my drum brain and played along. You gotta learn the nuances like the blue note sometimes being open hat, ride or splash, things like that. But it helps a lot in learning new types of beats. I would however look up some posture, stick holding and other basic techniques tho. But playing along is so much fun! I sometimes change things up and don't follow the notes and just jam
Also, there's an adapter that let's your plug an electronic kit into the game directly (look in the description) but I found just playing along to videos to be simpler and cheaper

How did you get this song on RB4? I looked for it and didn't see it in the store.
You have to do with exports (and I’m not sure you can anymore)
Look under available downloads in the game dashboard menu. If you have the export licenses you should be good to go.

I feel like I’m the only person that just doesn’t like Dream Theater’s music. It’s just simply not my style, never was. Maybe it’s the vocals. I don’t know. To each their own though. Regardless, awesome playthrough my man. You’re definitely the BEST Rock Band/Guitar Hero drummer on the internet. Keep up brotha. #Mystakin
When I was big into Rock Band back in 2009-2010. That’s actually what taught me, and got me into real drumming. Sadly, I sold my drum set a few years ago and haven’t really played drums since then. Watching your videos really makes me what to buy Rock Band, and a real drum set again. Maybe in the near future.
that's an opinion and you aren't the only person. DT music is not for everyone of course. maybe progressive rock/metal is not your style or maybe you have another favorite prog band that fit to your style? nice to hear you really into real drumming and I hope you keep playing and practice.
Its because Dream Theater's music feels soulless. Its all technically great, but the song writing itself is for the most part extremely bland and almost feels like pop music with no real emotion (Inb4 "The best of times" having emotions because it uses sad cliches).
Only Dream Theater song I find myself ever listening to is A Change Of Seasons.
can you use a hi-hat pedal on rb4 instead of hitting a different cymbal for open hi hat?
Unfortunately no, the game reads hi-hat pedals as a second kick for easier access to tougher kick-heavy tracks instead.

It's true they're hertas but they're also flams. Push comes to shove and they noted them as regular flams :^)

in mike portnoy's playthrough video they look like hertas and not flams. you can clearly hear a 32nd note in there that isn't a flam, or even a really spaced one
i love how at 6:12 they don't chart the ghost notes because they know their plastic pads wont pick up the light notes, also imo those are hertas
