Shonn Greene for Heisman! I`ve noticed better stamina in him in recent games. Before he would get winded and slow down enuf to get tackled after 30 or so yards. The last 2 games has proved different. Now with the Wisky game he showed he could outrun the defence and still have his motor runnin well into the 4th quarter. Too bad we have lost 3 games (by 9 points total mind you) otherwise Shonn would be in the top 5 for the Heisman race.
Forget Percy Harvin, Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, Javon Ringer, etc. Shonn Greene has yet to have a let down game. If he'd have played the fourth quarters against FIU and Maine, or if Iowa could have gotten w's against MSU, Pitt, and NU, Greene would be everyone's pick for the Heisman. He's that good.
Had Shonn Greene returned in 2009, Iowa would have gone to Pasadena and I'm not talking about the Rose Bowl either. They'd have an ADT Crystal Ball and a Heisman Statue that Alabama would not.
Even if Greene chooses to go to the NFL, we still have Jewel Hampton. He's fast, and not that easy to bring down. I daresay that with a couple years of experience, Hampton could be just as good as Greene. Iowa's has a history of getting some quality backs. Problem is, we don't win nearly enough games to get national exposure and attention for our players. If we were going to a BCS bowl this winter, I can guarantee Greene would be higher up on the Heisman picture.
Impressive how close you were to getting it right, Hawkeyes stomped South Carolina in a 31-10 contest that wasn't anywhere near as close as the score indicates. Usually you see a 31-10 blowout and assume that it wasn't a walk in the park and was put away sometime in the 4th quarter, but this one was over when the band came onto the field for halftime.
I think Iowa is going to win the Outback Bowl in a big way! I am impressed with there offensive line and speed on defense. I think they will run over South Carolina and flex their muscles. South Carolinas running backs will be no match for the hawkeyes linebackers. Iowas receivers should burn Carolinas corners too running there routs. My prediction Iowa 35 SC 14
Well, they expect good players to help their teams win a lot of big games. Or to help their team win close games. I don't agree with it, but the Heisman's all about name recognition now. It's really difficult to be recognized when your team isn't even ranked. If anything, I think the fact that overall, the team isn't very good, makes Greene's numbers that much better.
He'd be high up in the Heisman talk if only Iowa could have won those three games!! Seriously. Undefeated, ranked Iowa (or even 1 loss) would have set him up for more recognition. Right now, he's on a 3 loss Iowa team that probably won't be ranked by the end of the season. Might not even make a bowl game.

Problem is, he's on a 7-4 team. You can be amazing, but if your team doesn't win, doesn't get ranked, then it's difficult to qualify you for a Heisman.

Yep I was suprised how close I predicted it. I hope losing Shonn Greene doesnt hurt Iowa's offense in 2009. They should do fine though.
I don't think this is video is biased at all. Wisconsin just did not have a single highlight for the entire game.
