23 years ago this weekend (4 Sept 2015) the first night game in Kinnick game was played. It was between the defending national champion Miami Hurricanes against home team Iowa Hawkeye. It was prime time Saturday night on ABC at that time I think.
lol when i was in iowa city at a basketball game last year gary barta was their and i yelled at him i want a hawkeye in the middle of the feild! he said hell try, bs.
Cool! Yeah, it was cool that night! I'm really glad that guy with the autographs pointed out Licklighter's and Barta's... lol.. anyway, a great vid as usual.. keep 'em coming!
By 2009 tail gating scaled back a little. It used to be the whole town was one big tailgate. Now it's mostly in the stadium area. Very difficult to get a parking spot. Totally fun tho!
I was there last fall. I'll admit I was sloppy drunk heading into the game (Penn State 2017 game) but it was brutal walking out for multiple reasons haha.
