I put a deposit on one and going to look at it this week. I'm hoping that it's not too big for me. On the shorter side (5'7") and it's a medium with 29" wheels.... fingers crossed. $1200 retail.

Just picked up my Marlin 8! They Lady in the bike shop said this will be the Unicorn of Central Florida for a long time. They won’t start getting bikes at a factory Trek store until late Summer or early fall.
Same here. Picking mine up this weekend in Massachusetts. My LBS has 2 mediums (one being mine), but a couple others in other sizes like at least 1 small. They will be gone quick, if not already. No other bike shop in the area has any or will have any until summer most likely.
@@goodluckchrisclark The shop I got it from got it in Wed 3/17. They didn’t order it. Just showed up. I’ve been on a waiting list at My bike shop for a Giant Fathom. That shop has ordered 1200 bikes since COVID started and has only received about 200 of them. Most shops around me are only getting between 6-12 bikes between now an early fall. I stumbled across this one bike and drove about an hour away to check it out. Apparently it’ll be the unicorn of bikes for about 6 months or so. I like it so far, but I’m going from a $200 Schwinn to this bike. lol 😂
I got an 8 yesterday it is an awesome bike. However in the store I went to they won’t receive any new ones until December. I was lucky to get my hands on one, this is a very tricky bike to get. But, the riding factor of this bike is very smooth, quick, and responsive. The best bike so far that I’ve ever owned
@@jlsszr8327 that's the problem no more jumping, nothing CRAZY NOW I'm literally still recovering from the injury last summer. Fractured my neck 3 places, ribs 4 places, internal bleeding in my left lung & blood clots in my right lung. All from falling off a bike ramp last summer with my other mountain bike. Spent 4 1/2 days in the hospital & I still have neck pain 7mth later. Now it's just simple trails & riding with my boys. At 40yrs old the body can't take it like a 20yr old lol.
Holy shiz that's a crazy crash! Top Fuel would add some comfort on the trails too but this is going to be a great option too, I'm hoping they have the dropper post situation updated
Here's an update / review to my last comment stating that I have purchased this bike. I got this bike in radioactive red m/l frame size. I live in Chico CA and have taken it out for a few rides on the Upper Bidwell trails. This bike is absolutely worth the $1,200 retail sale price!! It's smooth, responsive, and fast! I couldn't be happier with my purchase! The Sram Eagle SX drive train and Rockshox Judy Silver Air Fork are plenty enough for light to medium trails (as I said I've ridden in upper bidwell so there's plenty of rock gardens and this bike coasts through them). Climbing feels amazing and I have much more confidence on this compared to my previous Breezer Thunder 26r. I have also been riding my bike to work 3 miles there and 3 miles back on a paved trail and it's amazing for that as well! the only components I'm looking into upgrading are the seat post to a dropper and higher quality pedals. I promise you that at the price point you will not be disappointed!
Also the one modification I've made to this bike is to the internal cables. The rear hydraulic brake tube has a nasty rattle to it on rougher terrain. But it is easily silenced with 1/4" split loom wire management 🤟🏼
just picked up my trek marlin 8 today from a certified trek dealer. folsom bikes is the shop I bought it at. amazing bike at the price point. the salesman told me he didn't even understand how they got this 2022 bike in stock 3 months into 2021.
Does this bike have the hole in the frame at the bottom of the seatpost to accept an internal dropper post? If it does not, does the sram dub bottom bracket allow internal routing around the bottom bracket?
We have a few Marlin 8 in South Africa and next Pre order date is May year. However Trek only offering the blue/black color in this region which is a shame as the red looks amazing. I am torn between the Trek Marlin 8 vs X Caliber 8. Any advice here will be welcomed. It’s almost priced the same given a discount on X Cal 8 2021 model from some dealers.
Perfect for me, didn’t want a Roscoe even tho that bike could handle the trail better than my Marlin 7...I like to do a lot of street riding. Just needs a dropper stock, and it’s a complete bike. Great video.
@@goodluckchrisclark I don't think it officially supports internal routing for dropper post, but the downtube does have extra holes. A tech looked at the bottom bracket and seems to think they could route it
I order cal 7 last fall now Iam ending up with marlin 8 when it gets here cheaper frame no dropper post no tapper head no bost spacing and $200 more Iam not exactly happy or sure if I will accept bike or find a different brand and wait longer
