Right on the money! I’ve been working in fitness for 5 years. College dropout. I’ve outperformed every other trainer in my facility even though I wasn’t as certified. Moral, sales. Clients don’t really care about the “knowledge” what I’ve learned is that it is about personal connections and listening to the clients not just yourself.

Oh man. My trainers were really personable and actually made me want to workout. Now I'm very consistent. Im now doing my own research on getting even better.

This is why I decided to go into the fitness industry. A lot of trainers put out content for athletes, other trainers, or advanced people. I want to be able to communicate to the many! However, a lot of these trainers seem to get most of the engagement.

💯 correct, I am a new trainer and my background is being in the salon business for 25 years and I can talk to anyone and relate because of all the types of people that I've come in contact with. It's the same but different but both service oriented business that you do have sell and set yourself apart from others and what's going to make them come back to you. You guys really are the best and I so appreciate your time and info and so happy I found your podcast it really has taught me a lot that the books don't teach you . I hope I'm half as good as you guys.

Great video! As a full time personal trainer for the past 4 years I have relize many things and the last two about motivation and the new thing about science is so true, I see it so often when some trainers thing that just because it's science it's suppose to work for everyone even tho that's never the case.

exactly, im only 15 and ive been studying to become a persanol trainer and ive noticed this a lot. people arent like you so that means u dont speak to them that way, you should act as though your a teacher, teaching a class of kids.

That’s called discipline, not motivation. Motivation isn’t going to get you to run countless marathons fucking up your feet and knees, motivation alone isn’t going to get you through 3 us marine hell weeks, motivation alone isn’t going to get you to break the pull up record. Goggins himself said he sees exercise as a shower, it’s something that has to be done regardless of enjoyment, when your body is telling you to stop and you keep pushing even on the days you feel exhausted that’s discipline.

I think trainers tend towards accidentally making content and marketing that is more advanced and accidentally geared towards other trainers because of a desire to consolidate new knowledge acquisition. You know how you can tell when a friend has learned a new word? They start using it in every sentence. I realise I do the same thing - I learn about the different flexions and rotations, anti rotation available at the core, and want to explain that to clients so I can make sure for myself that I understand it myself
