      Thank you! As someone who spent many holidays in the savannah, the sound of hyenas at night send shivers down your spine. When the Bible refers to jackals or night wolves, it's the sound of hyenas that I think of.

    Pastor Kelly: I hate hyenas.
    Hyenas: WHAAAT on earth DID we DO to you?????
    Pastor Kelly: You're just ugly, nasty and smelly.
    Hyenas: Fair enough.

    Should I attend my child's wedding, by the way she is marrying another woman? Ron's answer: No. Now Ron believes his word and understanding of God's word is the ultimate truth. Whether this friend is an SDA or not, going to a priest (aka pastor), for a final verdict is not what the bible teaches, yes, lots of similarities between Catholics and SDAs. Anyway, first, Ron, there is something called "a conscious" and everyone has one and needs to work and determine this through in prayer, not ask others and then pray about this. Regardless if this is a same sex or other marriage. Integrity as you have defined in your pyramid of loyalty, should have been to seek God first, spouse and then children. He may not have needed to consult the priest who is at the bottom of the food chain. I'll pluck a text from its immediate context (there is some legitimacy for this in this context), a practice SDAs do very often.
    Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? (1Cor 10.29)
    I used the KJV just in case whoever reads this is one of those who believe in the sanctity of the KJV
    Second, for Ron to answer NO, what is the passage that gives him the right to affirm this? The bible does not address this issue. If i am mistaken, please reference the clear and unequivocal reading / understanding of a passage or passages that address this marriage. Those who speak as if their position is right. So glad my Jesus does not reflect this priest's answer, advice, recommendation or opinion (more humble). Finally, one may not agree w/ a loved one's actions or beliefs, however, show some support and love anyway--its family at the end of the day and its THEIR decision. What's that? I can already hear these "righteous" individuals say something along the lines of "those who live "loosely" always pull up love as a legitimate answer!" Yes, that is how Jesus loves. Just because someone does not agree w/ God on day of worship ,food, lifestyle, doctrines and yet God still gives unconditional love. I'll take Jesus over a priest, SDA or other. Remember others know how to read the good book. humbleness and dedication to what is clear in scripture (which there isn't a whole lot) along with a good conscious and being loyal to one's own conscious while keeping close to Jesus, that is what a believer does in my opinion.

      Attending the wedding will send a message that same sex marriage is ok.
      I disagree, there are no similarities between the SDA Church and the Catholic Church, none of their doctrines are Biblical.
      The Bible says, do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers .
      The Bible says homosexuality is a sin, and will not have eternal life. Attending the wedding tells her that it is ok

    • @edel143

      @@dianechapmanbettyboop sends a message that same sex marriages are ok? no it does not. its about being supportive of your child. one does not have to agree w/ the choices others make, but to not be present of one's own child?
      no similarities between sda and catholic and "none of their doctrines are biblical?" you should reflect more on this. they believe in the trinity, they believe in salvation, they believe in the incarnation, they believe in the resurrection...i guess if these doctrines are ubiblical then the sda beliefs are unbiblical as well since these are shared. reflect more carefully before making such claims.
      unequally yoked w/ unbelievers? define unbeliever. paul's time, either christian or not. are you defining unbeliever as non sda? if so, that is not a proper reading of the text or understanding of the times. if that is NOT how you define, then please do so.
      homosexuality is a sin? there are other ways of understanding the "clobber texts."
      the biblical jesus ate w/ prositutes, tax collectors and eventual traitors. i believe he would have attended the marriages of gays, MY belief, but the bible makes it clear that Jesus sat w/ anyone and befriended all. its wonderful to know that jesus loves the worst kind of people, US - sinners and even those w/ self righteous pride (sda's included).
      i hope the father went to his daughter's wedding. more important to be supportive of one's child even if there is a disagreement of lifestyle choices.

    • @edel143
      @edel143 Год назад

      did Christ come into this world because he agreed w/ all that was happening? no. he came for a mission to save and to show love. a father attending his daughter's weddings is a mission of love, unconditional love to his child. sadly, some parents put twisted beliefs above their family! Christ said, love God above all things and love your neighbor as yourself. i guess some parents don't really like themselves and who suffers? their poor children.

    • @Diana-eq8ko
      @Diana-eq8ko Год назад

      @@edel143 You wrote, "Christ said, love God above all things and love your neighbor as yourself." Jesus also said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Same sex marriage is a violation of all 10 commandments for if we break one, we are guilty of them all. {James 2:10} The first 4 addresses our love to God; and again, He said, "IF you love me..." The last 6 address our love to mankind. We do not manifest love to our neighbor when we are silent about their sinful practices. Our silence makes us complicit in their sins. Yes, homosexuality in all its varied forms, is a sin. Both the OT and the NT proclaim it as such. Rom. 1:24-32 {notice verse 26 states, "their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature" and calls it a vile affection, i.e., morally bad, wicked. Also, Jude 1:7; 1Cor. 6:9.
      For a bit more clarity, Romans 1: 26 in the New Living Translation reads as follows: "That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other."
      While the OT lists sex between men as an abomination and sinful, the definition is not left solely to the male gender. The definition of homosexuality is the quality or characteristic of being sexually attracted solely to people of one's own sex; the attraction between people who are the same sex. It comes from the Greek word homos, meaning “the same” so lesbianism is not removed from the definition, and neither is the condemnation of scripture.
      Marriage was from the creation established by God a divine ordinance between one man and one woman. God did not unite same-sex persons and then tell them to propagate the earth. This divinely established marriage ordinance that we are held to is not dependent upon our personal proclivities, preferences or narratives. Whatever this father felt he had to do, he will be held to answer according to the light that he had/has on the issue. This is where the mercy of God comes in as He does not condemn us for our ignorance or lack of knowledge. He only holds us accountable for what we know and for the sins we willfully commit when we know better.
      It's not an issue of SDA or non-SDA. Nor is it an issue of KJV or other translations. By His example and His word, He has left us ample instructions and guidance on what is acceptable and non-acceptable moral behavior. At our own peril, we take it upon ourselves to reinterpret what He has so clearly established, for it is written: "I am the Lord and I do not change." Mal. 3:6
      Woe to those who call evil good and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Isa. 5:20
