I have an R10 but sometimes the accuracy re path and distance is way off. I hear that concrete between the device and the launch mat can be an issue regards interference . At my range there is plenty of that! Any suggestions how to lessen the interference? I have acquired a levelling stand with laser alignment to improve set up as well. Thanks
This was so helpful! Helped me get closer to pulling the trigger in this. Would love to hear your thoughts on the SLX Hybrid X3 Pro when it gets released.
From my experience, there isn't a super easy way to just switch in and out. I believe you need to setup individual Garmin Golf accounts and then logout/login to the new account. Whereas more professional devices like the Mevo or Bushnell, make it easy to add new people. . With the R10, you can do multiplayer when you're using a Sim mode like e6 however.
Sorry late to this review but thanks! One question I have is the ball flight on the iPhone is that “accurate enough” to give you a decent idea on how the ball is flying for example draw or fade? Also in your experience how is it indoors?
Yeah its definitely accurate enough to give you solid data generally on what the ball is doing. It may be off by a couple degrees when compared to more expensive units, but it will definitely tell you if it's a fade, draw, slice etc. Indoors it works pretty well, I've found it to occasionally miss a shot or two inside, but overall is definitely usable.
Got my R10 last week - don't understand the Hype at all... I am a Playing Professional and in general do know my numbers and data. R10 has been set up outdoors on the range on a mat. Height matching ball height - distance to ball has been measured and is pointing straight at target. Firmware has been the newest one, did all updates. Good news - R10 registered every shot. Distance was kind of a joke - off by like 20-30 yards. Took my laser - balls went like 155 meters, R10 was showing 128... Driver has been the worst - 165 Ballspeed from R10 going 190 meters carry... Spin rates were hilarious (7 iron between 4000 and 11500...). Started hitting snap hooks to see what R10 is reading. Shots were registered as 5-10 Meter pushes. Push Slice shown as dead straight. Numbers were like a slot machine... Don't know what that would mean indoors - did not expect trackman or GC4 exact numbers - but flights, distances, spinrates are not even on the same planet...
Well the hype isn’t for a professional. It’s for average people trying to golf for an affordable price. Maybe you need to reevaluate who these products are for.
@@calebmahoney2448 Maybe a device should do what it hast been designed for. I did not talk about "it does not reed spin within 100rpm of a GC Quad that costs 20000" - but I think you could expect it gets the difference between a slinging hook and a push right... Especially outdoors... Otherwise it is completely worthless - not only for a Pro, for everyone who tries to improve...
@@Daniel-us5dx yeah like I said maybe you should reevaluate what these cheaper products are for. If you want accuracy then spend the money on what the pros use.
@@calebmahoney2448 what exactly are they for then? I mean a cheap car is also supposed to drive!? Of course it will not drive 300km/h but it should go forwards, backwards and round corners. This thing here does not even pick up a ballflight correctly. So what it is for then? Showing people wrong flights and data? Great product... -But I get it - you are too smart for me and I need to reevaluate everything I know about everything, because you know it better... cheers Mr Smartipants! Have a wonderful life
@@Daniel-us5dx you claimed to be a professional and then are complaining about something that costs 1/6th the price of equipment that professionals use. That’s like you showing up for putt putt without a putter and complaining about the one they give you. If you hadn’t claimed to be a professional there wouldn’t be a conversation here. But you did and I pointed out how ridiculous you sound.
I plan on getting one as soon as I can. Question, does it allow you to "play" a round of golf, or simulate a driving range indoors with out a subscription? OR can that be done with an app it pairs with.
Yes., it comes with a limited mobile subscription to e6, so you can play a full simulator round on 6 courses (including Bandon Dunes) without any additional subscription. To use the simulator-esque feature of Home Tee Hero within the Garmin app, it's $10/mo.
i got my r10 a few days ago and im not finding the accuracy to be very good with distances, i have my r10 set up 7ft behind me and am hitting into a net 8ft in front of me outdoors. i normaly hit my 9 iron 140 yds. my r10 will register 120 yds. any help would be much appreciated
8’ is the bare minimum for even the mevo + the Garmin will really struggle at that distance. I’ve heard on Reddit threads you need 12’ for it to be relatively accurate indoors or into a net.
I have found my Garmin R10 to be so accurate that it has shaved strokes off my game by knowing which club to use on course based on sim yardages. Perhaps try it at the range to see if there is something in your investment causing you issues.
calculating something is not the same as guessing it - there is no single launch monitor that measures your carry distance - all of them track only a partial of the ball flight and calculate it from the ball speed, launch angle and spin for instance the vevo+ (for triple the price) directly measures: club head speed, angle of attack, ball speed, launch angle, spin axis and rate - the rest is calculated from the other values; but their business is creating accurate models so the numbers are pretty accurate.. because once again - they are calculated and not guessed
I have one and am really disappointed because I go through all the set up of 6-8 foot behind and at least 8 foot travel before net and no matter what I try it gives at best 60% of normal distance. Tried doing all types of adjustments and no difference and cannot get Garmin help. Wish I never got it.
Ah bummed to hear this. I've found with any of these devices (except the Launch Pro) your environment can dictate things wildly. Different people will have different experiences based on lighting, lots of metal in the room which can interfere. I haven't experienced much of this personally with the Garmin, but the good news is you'll likely have no issue selling it really isn't working for you.
Just sent mine back. Misses approximately 1 out of 5 shots randomly. Could be due to waggling. But it happens even when not waggling sometimes.Very frustrating. Garmin app is horrible. Can't delete a practice session or edit the name of the session. Called tech and they are aware of these problems. But the random misses are the biggest problem IMO. Unacceptable. There are other problems with RCT balls when smash factor is low. But what can you expect at this price point. Not worth it for me.
Just got one for Christmas; I can’t wait to test it out!
quality of video is amazing! keep it up! love the honesty. wish i could get my hands on one 👌🏼
Thanks Colton! Appreciate it! And you're definitely not the only one...ha
Woah woah woah 1.8k subs?? This level of detailed content needs 1m for sure
haha appreciate it! But we're not event at 1.8...that's 1.08...we're getting there!
It does work in landscape mode on my iPhone 8
Great review. One question though, can it shot trace using own captured video? Not the cartoonish range.

Can I have different profiles? I'm thinking of being able to save statistics and videos for me and the kids or even a friend joining the practice

Can anyone tell me if the Garmin R10 will tell you if the club face is open or closed at impact?
Does it integrate with Apple Watch ?
I'm on month 8 now ..ordered and paid for and still nothing ! It's getting frustrating.
Fits really well in the cooler pocket of my bag that’s pretty much where it lives when I’m on the course

To be fair to it, it says +-3 yards accuracy carry on it. I'll never trust the spin rate or shot direction on it cause it can be quite iffy
hi, are you interested in testing the rangefinder with screen display?
So the free E6 will not work on a pc?
Correct, with the r10 it’s mobile only.
Well that sucks that it only works with ios, what about pc users, is there any benefit to this?
You can use PC
I’ve been trying to order 1 for months now and everyone is out of stock

E6 does not but others do (Home Tee Hero and Awesome Golf).
I charged my brand new R10 then it froze in ‘Busy’ mode. At the moment it’s just a useless piece of plastic, not impressed 👎
