Thanks Judha! It was a nice varied series of catches and it's always nice using something for the first time and learning how it works and actually catching a fish or two!
@@ShroomFishing I reckon twilight & evening time would be worth a shot, for me whiting seem to hit vibes more then- and the tips of the tentacles on those sqidtrex look like they glow in the dark. Hopefully the bigger size that you saved for later can get a try out for the mulloway & whiting on one of your night sessions 😉!
@ShroomFishing not sure about bass I the fresh, they tend to chase spinners mostly, and curl tail grubs. Eps in the salt maybe, but I reckon good old flatties with go for them in the winter, as I did get a few on a squid looking lure
Good job shroom 🤘🏼. I haven’t really used my squidtrex because I’ve been doing a lot more estuary topwater. You should do a topwater whiting vid or topwater perch.
I’m sure you will get something. I just got my go pro and should start posting now. Went out today and got a bream on soft plastics and some whiting ok topwater. It’s definitely really fun topwater. Love your vids keep up the great work❤️
Banger! Any plans for a strict luderick only session using a bobber and cabbage weed? Would be a fun video idea I'd love too see. My PB is 43 cm. I once caught 32 of them in a 1 hr session😁
Yes there is Peter, not sure when but could be soon or a bit later. I've been thinking about it actually! That's awesome, a whole of catching that session!
Nice catches bro. Apparently these lures are crazy popular. I started using a maxima ultra green mono recently as a leader. I found it blends in with the water and it lasts longer than fluorocarbon. Give it a try bro in 4-8lb
Seems like it! Interesting, contrary to popular belief you can see fluoro in the water haha. I do use mono at times, ties a good knot and the stretch can be good
I never got a big tailor before after AGES, then in the space of a week this March, got a 42cm and a 55cm off the wharf - spin out, lol. That's fishing hey! Amazing lmao. 55cm munched a live yakka pinned on a single 5/0 hook behind the head within 30 seconds of hitting the water, and somehow got hooked into his nostril, not his mouth - LMAO it was nuts! 42cm was on chicken breast (cut into a nice strip) marinated in garlic and bread crumbs, and took it on the retrieval back in to check my bait after I felt a good hit on the bottom LOL. Would LOVE to hook up to a nice 70+cm Tailor, THAT would be a nice fight, Heh heh. Good Luck Shroom. Cheers my bro, Tight Lines!
How well do these guys cast compared to a swimbait with a jighead of similar weight? I’m thinking about trying some out in the light surf of California. We have white seabass and halibut which go nuts for live squid, and I think the 3/4 oz might be pretty good here for that.
They cast a bit better because they are a bit more aerodynamic through the air weight for weight comparison. They sink very fast like a traditional blade so you'll be working mostly the bottom and bouncing off that. I did a lot more winding and light twitches to counteract that to give it 'hang time' in the water. I hope that helps!
Wat do you think shroomanator? there ok pretty expansive and surprisingly only small fish eat em ive put abit in to them I reckon wrong time of year more of a winter big fish bait just wait and see thats wat I reckon
Interesting stuff Josh, I only caught smaller fish here but I was in the baking sun 36-40 degree so I was pretty sure I was dying out there hahaha. I missed a lot of bites, I assume they hit the body of the lure at times where I couldn't hook them
Hey shroom love whating your vidieos can you please doing a vidieo on catching flathead on bait plz it would mean alot to me. Any way i always enjoy wathing your vidiwos so keep it up mate
Yep sure Tim, obviously this is not a sponsored video or anything I just do my research and it's 5g in weight, BKK assists and made of TPE material (durable) amd functions like a vibe/blade with vibration on the lift
@@ShroomFishing yeh shroom, the first spot you were fishing, walkin my dog that day and suddnely heard all this seagul madness and something splashing in the water, they were right up against the wall, smart kings thr bait fish were gettin trapped in the pockets of rocks. lived near the area all my life first time i’ve ever seen it with my own eyes
Nice video, but I think these lure should be work with a single hop instead of twitching like a grub and if fishing in shallow water use the top tow point .
You're right Peter, it's been pretty terrible unless you get lucky and hit a school of salmon or kingfish. Bait fishing is the way to go right now rather than what I did which was 36-40degree heat haha
Do you still fish the georges river much? I used to live in Peakhurst, I'm coming back for Christmas and was wondering how it's been fishing lately? I moved to Adelaide a couple years ago and seem to see heaps of posts of Jews caught in the georges a lot more then there used to be before fisheries started stocking it. 🤯🤬😆
@@ShroomFishing yeah possibly but i've heard of it happening on flathead and even large bream too, could just be a small manufacturing error in a few batches during production, still a great looking lure though, would be great for micro jigging. great vid and tight lines shroom!
I considered it, I might have to look into it again. I thinkI had to turn them and it was too much bother to figure out but don't quote me on that I'll revisit it
Great Aussie with an awesome sense of humour. well done mate!
The best fishing bait at the moment that I have seen from the bait I have used from other bait👍🎣
Love to see the new videos. nice catches with the squidtrex. looks like fun
Thanks Judha! It was a nice varied series of catches and it's always nice using something for the first time and learning how it works and actually catching a fish or two!
Thanks to Nomad Tackle for sending me a bunch of vibes. I've saved some big ones for a rainy day!
Nomad is nice gear. Stick baits are a bit nasty but everything else is magic
That outing looked like so much fun!
Can't beat a days fishing (or two!)
Great showcase of the micro squidtrex lures, Shroom! The bigger models also surprisingly cast very well on medium gear off the rocks!
Thanks Hai, you're right, they cast surprisingly well and the big ones go miles through the air haha
G’day Shroom, I love the vibes mate 👍🏼,great bit of fun. That’s hot 36 degrees when fishing.
Great video as usual mate.
Thanks Wayne, I don’t use vibes enough but very good deeper water options. It was a scorche, could have cooked the turkey on the pavement lol 😂 👍
Pretty much everything Nomad makes is awesome. I exclusively use their lures now, they are all so effective!
Well done Nomad, putting gear in the hands of an intelligent fisho.
My Thursdays are a good night cause my boy shroomy posts good, quality content❤🎉
Yessss! Lesgo! I try my best every week ❤
Lol
@@Liam-yt4xdwhat do you mean LOL buddy?
Thought the breambos would go for em , good to see you get a good spread of the eastury species- I'm sure whiting & jewies would take them too.
I think you’re right Oijosh, was hoping for whiting that day

Awesome watch bro. I’ve been using the gold one same size smashing the schoolies but further up the river🤙🏽
Nice, that's the stuff

Squid trex in. My oppinion is the best lure its perfect for all scenarios
The highlight of my thursdays
Awesome, lesgo!
Nice stuff. Lures like that can work well in estuary, bays, I've used similar with success, however, I will grab a few of these for a go. 😊
Might be a good option for bass and eps, and probably useful in the winter

Wtf this will blow up man definitely hot lure!
I reckon you're right Hamudi
Best lure I’ve ever tried
You are an incredibly attractive and charismatic young man Shroom. Brush Turkey footage was a highlight.
Ahaha thank you Fred! I appreciate that and mister turkey wasn't really afraid of me at all

What rod do you use sir ?
Let’s go shroom. Nice video

Very good on finger mark I bet.
Caught a 35cm and 40cm Tailor like 5 meters away from your first spot in the video lol.
woah very nice John!
Where is this place if you don't mind?
Rushed home from work cuz I saw shroom uploaded

hey shroom, what rod are you using. Thanks.
Edge black widow 6-8lb
You sounded like a seagull at 9:28 😂
Hahaha exactly like one Peter 😂😂
Hey shroom did you use any scent? If not the seem to do the trick!
I used some scent, S factor and also without

@@ShroomFishing that does help, thanks! I’ll treat it more like light shore jigging than a swim bait in that case.
Is that the one on a sharp rip it swims away from person fishing ???.
Not this one, this one seems to behave normally
Hey shroom what lb line were u using and what reel n rod
Sammy it's Edge black widow 6-8lb, Daiwa exist 2000DP and 6lb shimano kairiki 8

Is this in perth
Could be Berkeley one not sure.
Dude last month I seen a group of about 10 kingies (70+cm) chasing baitfish right next the walkways, seaguls were going crazy, got it on camera

PSA - the line attached to the the hooks on the 55 model is pretty weak and considerably weaker than the advertised strength.
That's good feedback, I did lose a couple of stingers but there were tailor around which could explain mine
