- In this video I would like to show you some of my ancient roman and greek silver coins and give some detailed view and information about them.
(It`s just a portion of my collection to start with.)
It`s a pleasure to share the great art of ancient coins with you.

About this channel:
I'm very passionate about collecting ancient coins and would like to share this passion with you by showing you coins out of my collection and giving you some background information about the ancient coins. In future videos i will get more into detail and I'm always open to your suggestions and questions on collecting ancient coins.
I would be happy if this channel attracts people for this fascinating numismatic period and for this hobby.
Wow , amazing collection. Roman era coins were so unique and beautiful. Thanks
Terrific video ! I have a moderate interest interest in coins in general and ancient coins, and over the past year I've seen some of the graded expensive beautiful ancient coins that come up for sale at Heritage auctions, BUT ... to see these beautiful silver coins, two millennia old, in extremely fine condition, attractively clean and toned; to see that they can be carefully handled in one's hands; and to have the collector explain enthusiastically the features and importance of each coin ... that is a great treat. Thank you for giving us this window into a very interesting corner of history.
Thank you for your nice comment. I`m glad you like it. Perhaps you start yourself collecting some ancients, they are not always as expensive as one would think. The roman denarii for example are quite affordable.
Fantastic collection! Just subscribed! I ordered a couple of Roman coins to start my collection. My family is originally from a small town only two hours south of Rome. I have a deep connection with my Italian roots and the Roman Empire and culture. Thank you for sharing your passion!
Hi there, glad to hear you started on collecting roman coins...thanks for your comment and subscription, I will upload new videos soon.
Wonderful! Thank you so much for showing these- I recently became interested in collecting ancient coins, and this video is exactly what I need to learn more. Those are absolutely gorgeous pieces and I do hope you will find the time to make more videos showing your impressive collection.
Great coins! I just added an Augustus bronze from Thessalonika and an Athens owl tetradrachm to my collection
Congratulations on the owl tetradrachm... my first ancient coin purchase was a Dynast of Lycia sixth stater lion bc..
Esas monedas son falsas no tienen patina por los años que tiene es imposible su brillo y patina .
Of course they are cleaned and that is why they are shiny. Genuine old they are.
Very nice ancient coins collection!
Thank you! : )
How unique like to see this video.great rare collection.🌳🌳🌹🌳🌳🙏🌳🌳
11 months later I am just seeing this... 53,000 views, only 672 subscribers? Hmm? I guess I will be number 673 then! Excellent presentation! You have some extremely rare types in stunning condition. Even your more common types are so well centered, and of the highest artistic style as you mentioned. I see you posted a video on the coin with the swan, going there next! My passion is Biblical coins, and historical coins. Coins that tell stories-which they really do. I love the Athenian owl, the shield coins, and that tiny hemiobol with the Boar. I just acquired one of those to go with my athenian owl... I also think its an funny design-to me it looks like the tunny fish cut through the forepart of the boar! Thank you for the excellent presentation-well done!
awsome collection, i did not know those even exist ! thanx for the share. i like
Wow these are such great quality!
Amazing section!
Hi Money Mania! I just subscribed to your channel! Nice Video Content! 😎
Thanks for sharing
I love them. You should make videos talking about their History, it would be very nice.
Thanks, I probably will.
Sungguh cantik koin-koin ini 👍👍
Very nice collection, thanks sir
Awesome! Cool ancient coins :-)
Very impressive selection. I just started got an Alexander drachme and some bronze, a sestertius of hadrian(being Scottish hehe). Danke schone
Sensational variety; imbued with such divine artistry & unique locations! Quite like your comment on Antoninus's eyes, ahah.
Could we request your incredible 'Mallos Stater' be examined sometime..?
Thanks! Sure, I can show the Mallos Stater in a future video in detail.
Very nice Thebes early stater and also the Mallos stater (you should show that one).

Now there it is ;- )
Fascinating... thank you for sharing. One question is, do good quality Roman and Greek coins always appreciate in value or does the market sometimes fall ?
Hello, well... it depends on. Good quality ancient coins in very good condition and fine style/ asthetics are always in high demand - the prices were very much constantly rising over the past decades.
However, the ancient coin market also had some ups and downs in that time period - so if anybody wants to use ancient coins as an investment should consider to keep them for probably 10 years at least. It is not said, that the coins will always go up (for example: especially when new finds of a former rare coin type enter the market, prices will usually drop for this specific coin type). It`s always hard/impossible to predict the future. As every market it depends basically on supply and demand.
And if buying from an auction houses the fees are high - for a roundturn of buying and selling a coin it can end up beeing over 40 percent - so the coin has to grow in value for over 40% to be pofitable for you.
@@ancientcoincollector thank you for your very helpful reply...I think one should not think of money appreciation but other things like beauty rarity and specialisms...
Красота 🎉
I see a lot of Roman coins on eBay are there typically counterfeits out there? Or are these commonly available coins?
It depends on. I would not recommend buying ancient coins on ebay because of the big amount of counterfeits there. Go for auction houses which deal professionally with ancient coins for example CNG coins .
Fine presentation.
my god what a collection
beautiful coins!

Weary interesting.
The Maximinus Thrax, I'm pretty sure that's a type 1. Good condition. How much did that sell for?
Hi, i bought this Denarius for about 60 Euro (65 Dollars). The condition is very close to extremely fine (EF).
Meraviglioso...I love coins old greek and roman ass lehrer milliaccio ..the greek rhodes naples italy ..brasil ...aeternus pater 😢❤

Very nice coins...
I have this coin a lot. I’m from Cambodia.

They made such beautiful coins for so long ago.
عملات جميله
How much did you pay for the Thebes stater?
I think it was approximately 825 Dollars.
I have 400 silver coins 3gr each.. they're not Roman nor Greek but silver is silver 😅 they're from the70's .. thinking about melting them and make a bar! What you think 🤔 or should I leave them the way they're.??
Have the coins been cleaned?
Yes, the coins have been professionally cleaned. In the original condition as found you probably would not like to collect them.
very cool!
What is that collection worth??estimate
i have 5 ancient coins how much the cost
Nice collection, do you have the coins that judas iscariot got when he sold the messiah?
I have to much of this coin how can I sell them
Thanks,do you clean them self and how?
No, i buy them in cleaned or roughly cleaned condition. I prefer to buy coins that have still a patina instead of beeing completely cleaned and shimmering like new. Cleaning ancient coins is a science in itself - not easy.
@@ancientcoincollector thank you, friend of mine gave me a strange "coin"?it is heavily crusted with a layer of clay,it is made from a very heavy metall so i think it might be "coin minting dice"?it has cracks,en a put too the center, there are details underneath and i am curious of course. 😊
Nice
wow
I have a dollar coin from 1922 I don't know how much cost can you answer me for that please
How do you find these coins and know they are legitimate?
Well i mostly buy them on renowned auction houses which are specializrd on ancient coins,
There are many characteristics that show a trained collector if the coin is authentic. (for example flow lines, style, weight,....) It`s very difficult if not nearly impossible to create a fake coin including all characteristics a real coin has.
Piece of advice - buy a camera mount. Shaky footage is the worst.
What websites do you buy these coins on?
Vcoins or CNG

wheredo u find honest dealers?
Mostly I buy at online auctions / houses, you find them at numisbids.com for example.
I hqve gold owl coin . I just want you to help me to know how much its worth
As far as i know, there is no ancient gold coin with an owl on it. So it must be a modern creation.
Damn, i kept waiting, but you didn't pick up the swan or whatever it's supposed to be. edit, ok you showed it in your next video.
they have a very precise and detailed architectural buildings and they have the greatest minds during their time and yet they can't struck a perfect coin? nice coin collection tho
Good point. But coins were struck by hand and in large quantity, so there was not the time to strike each coin perfectly, as mints having produced under time pressure as well. Though there are nearly perfect coins out there, they are just not so common depending on type and time period. Many roman coin issues were produced in good qulity regarding centering and flan forms.
@@ancientcoincollector I see, and I keep noticing that the lower the coin value, the more likely are the ones with less perfect centering when struck, and the precious iron coins have mostly portrayed a ruler or deity have a better coin centering and clarity of image
how much they cost. i have 5 original genuine byzantine coins, i bought all 7000 dollars
I would like to purchase a Roman coin from BCE in good condition, not as an investment but simply because I want to hold a piece of history. As I have no knowledge of ancient coins, I'm seeking guidance on the cheapest and most reliable way to find and purchase an authentic Roman silver coin in good condition. I want to ensure the coin's authenticity while keeping the cost reasonable. Your expertise and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Well, I can recommend you for example the platform Vcoins.com for ancient coins. Look for a denarius of Trajan or Hadrian for example as they are very common and not that pricy. The dealers there have high standards and give you a lifetime guarantee of the authenticity of the ancient coins they sell.
If you prefer to buy at an auction, check out biddr.com and look for auction houses in your country to keep the shipping costs low depending on the price range you are willing to buy a coin for.
as a noob i fear overpaying for the coins.
Nice to se coins.
Yeah awesome , but the one coin I wanted you to show the name of and details written on screen , you never picked it up , the one with the Swan on it.
Well, finally i did ;- )

“Wow, beautiful 😍! But how do you know the real age of these coins? Scientists say it is impossible to date the age of metal.”
I have a couple of them sisa and a couple of Greek present of a Time powerful people at the time and I need to check them I got a couple of them and I need to check them
I have a coin that is so old that there is no design on either side! Maybe it is 10,000 years old?
انا عندي قطعة ارغب في بيعها
Man your coins worth a fortune
Well, most of them are quite affordable ;- )

good collection yes but isn't that illegal
When did kings end? Did our class of human need coin for anything before 1717?
Far as I can tell, first time us peasants needed to pay for the bread we bake, was n 1717.
Those coins were for Caesar or whatever leader to buy our supplies, we had free room and board until 307 years ago. (Now we pay and slave)

You don't put Roman coins and Greek coins in the same tray, It's just not done.
Seriously you have stunning collection. You should do a video on the short "Golden Age" of Roman denarii. Late Republic. Circa 100 bc to J. Caesar. This period produced the most beautiful and artful denarii.
Mithradates
Not cool . All those are looted / stolen .
Those coins should be in a museum , in order to be seen by all . Not in a rich person collection
