  • Our adventure began with a smooth landing at Málaga Airport, followed by a short drive to Benalmádena. A few days later, we heard about the severe flooding in Málaga, which had turned the city center and large parts of the area into rivers. Thankfully, we barely noticed it in Benalmádena, apart from the red alert notifications on our phones. While Málaga experienced heavy storms, we enjoyed calm weather with just the occasional light rain. After running some errands, we set off to truly begin our journey.
    Benalmádena & Gergal
After the peaceful start in Benalmádena, we traveled to Gergal, where a friendly elderly farmer welcomed us to his orange grove. The scent of fresh citrus and the farmer’s captivating stories made this a truly unforgettable stop.
    Los Escullos & Lorca
The coastline of Los Escullos in Almería, with its rugged rock formations, was stunning and reminded us of South Africa. Next, we explored Lorca, a charming town where we took a relaxing coffee and soaked in the laid-back atmosphere.
    Fortuna & Pinoso
Fortuna offered ultimate relaxation at its thermal baths, while a short stop in Pinoso took us to the authentic Spanish side of Alicante, where we just enjoyed doing some shopping.
    Murcia & Granada
Murcia was a citytrip of 2 days in an enjoyable city where we visited the historical buildings and catedrals before we journeyed through the mountains to Granada. This city’s mix of Moorish architecture and Spanish flair, especially the iconic Alhambra, made for memorable days.
Córdoba surprised us with its historical allure, particularly the Puente Romana.
    The Heart of Spain: Seville
Seville, our favorite destination and the capital of Andalusia, radiated authentic Spanish charm. From flamenco performances in the streets to lively guitar music on the plazas and the majestic Real Alcázar, the city felt like the true heart of Spain.
Gibraltar was next on our list, and the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean were a definite highlight.
Very unique to be in Gibraltar. Everywhere you looked, there were English people, red phone booths, and British street names. It feels like you're in London, but with the allure and climate of Spain.
In Marbella, we found peace at a cozy campsite with a heated pool near the beach-an ideal spot to unwind during the final days of our trip.
Returning to Málaga, we saw how the city had recovered from the floods.
We immersed ourselves in the christmas season of Málaga, where the city center came alive with the glow of Christmas lights and the joyous sound of carols filling the air. Thankfully, the locals were doing well, and we were able to end our trip on a sunny and positive note.
Our month in Spain was a journey full of contrasts, taking us through stunning landscapes, historic cities, and warm encounters. From thermal baths to flamenco shows, rugged coastlines to charming towns-this was an incredible experience that we’ll cherish for a long time.
