@@Graxu132 No the freezing water in Mitsurugi's throat was actually in the LN. Kazuma was prepared to kill him if they didn't stop to save him. A lot of the scenes that show how strong he is when he gets serious got cut from the anime.

@@Doodle52 I personally think that it was mainly the fact that it was night time. His shut-in, NEET instincts cut in and bro was finally able to lock in.
Vanir mask gave him a tactical buff, you can even hear him describing how emotions feel delicious and posing just like Vanir during their fight.
Doesn't change the fact that it was all done with Kazuma's skill set tho.

When Kazuma was screaming at the end, I had to do a double take, because I could've sworn that they edited in the classic Tom and Jerry scream
The whole castle raid was way better in the novels. Kazuma rubbing his back on Chris chest (which lead to them getting discovered) was really stupid. In the novel, Kazuma and Chris succesfully infiltrate the castle, they get discovered afterwards.
Kazuma and Chris entered a treasure room. Before going for the necklace, Chris wanted to find the other divine item (remember it was two items that Chris was looking for, and she thought the other one could be there). Once inside the treasure room, Kazuma notices a hentai magazine. He grabs it... and that triggers the alarm.
During the fight, Kazuma uses the skill 'Bind' a lot against the guards (the ropes made by 'Bind' are not just regular ropes, they are magical ropes which are more durable. They are strong enough to restrain monsters). Once the guards are tied up, he uses 'Drain Touch' on them. Kazuma also uses 'Create Earth' and 'Create Wind' combo (two skills he has in novels that are never shown in the anime).
Chris role was definitely minimized in the anime. She helps dealing with the guards that are mages and slows down the guards while Kazuma is doing the close quarter combat. They were both pretty well balanced for this mission.
Kazuma also froze Mitsurugi's throat after choking him with water. It was almost flat out murder. Kazuma said to Claire that he "probably" won’t die if they tend to him immediately. Kazuma stated that defeating Mitsurugi would lower the moral of the guards, and he was right... The guards were understimating him at first, after beating Mitsurugi, the guards started to fear him.
There was a moment when Rain was about to attack Kazuma with a spell by using her staff, but Kazuma uses his 'Snipe' skill and destroys the orb in her staff (rendering it useless).

crazy how much more of a badass kazuma is in the light novel. But its fine like this in the anime, as its this type of anime after all. It doesn't really need to focus on combat, its doing fine the way it is.
The anime has a certain vision of Kazuma, and they're willing to not forsake that even after he's overtaken by Vanir under the full moon. Most people who like Konosuba like Kazuma for the goofy, perverted, weak, petty but kind-hearted and intelligent straight-man that he is, and I think the castle invasion highlighted that aspect of him quite a bit. Them getting found out that way isn't stupid because they nearly got found out the same way just two episodes ago. Kazuma loves Chris man lmao
the dynamic of kohai(assistant) and Big boss(Boss) in this arc in the LN is also very fun, the two of them have amazing dynamic and fun chemistry especially when they go on an adventure together. makes you see what happens when Kazuma has competent allies.

This fight went super hard and to all you anime only's let me tell ya, they REALLY toned down the fight. Kazuma went super raw on that fight on the light novel. Homie almost killed Mitsurugi through asphyxiation. In the LN, he froze the water as it was pouring down his throat so he couldn't breathe.

@@electro_jk6557 vanirs demon power are very OP, it lets him see people's minds and let's him even glimpse the future. I do remember in the light novel vanir giving Kazuma his "rare vanir mask" and he gave the little sales pitch about it granting all this cool stuff plus making kids jealous, but only in the anime did they take it a step further I think and give a little Vanir personality when Kazuma was wearing it. I'm starting to think that It was always the authors intent to imply Vanir foresaw Kazuma would need the mask and it's Boosts in order to pull off that raid. But when the author saw the audience reaction to the novel of how Kazuma really went above and beyond, they probably went and added that bit of Vanir personality into the anime to spell it out just a bit more. Just my theory at least

I don't read the light novels but i could tell Vanir was involved because the mask looked just like his and Kazuma was behaving and sounding like him
It doesn't fundamentally do much though, just buff his mana and some of his base stats...
For reference Aqua can do the same thing to him at any time she wants regardless of the time of day.

It had nothing to do with the mask and his stats were all still the same. It is mentioned in the ln that kazuma can beat every human in konosuba in a battle. And the vanir mask buffing him in this part was a complete theory made by fans because he seemed to be acting like vanir and it was night. But it was just himself being confident in truth. He does mention that the party is bringing him down, wich is completely true in every aspect outside of dealing with monsters. He is a rencairnated for defeating the demon lord after all.
Some Things in Episode 6
1. Note this well: "This is the first time Kazuma, the king of luck, has lost at rock-paper-scissors." Hint for the next episode.
2. Kazuma's mask is a special edition Vanir mask that he got in episode 2 when he sold the recipe for matches.
3. Kazuma suddenly becomes overpowered because he uses the skill "Drain Touch." This causes Claire to become weak as her mana is drained, and Kazuma's mana becomes abundant. He doesn't dare to use this skill on ordinary days because it's a demon skill, and he fears being mistaken for a spy of the Demon King. He only dares to use it because his identity is hidden.
4. When fighting the sword master, it's more brutal in the Light Novel. After his throat is filled with water, it is then frozen, making him unable to breathe. Because it’s dangerous, the wizard immediately helps the sword master, allowing the silver-haired thief to escape.
5. Darkness immediately realizes it’s Kazuma and Claire. She believes their intentions are good. That's why, when she is bound, she pretends to be (but actually does) happy and helpless.
6. Aqua, the useless goddess, is actually useful in moments like this. Kazuma hates that.
7. Iris knows that the masked person is Kazuma. That’s why she teases him by praising him but ends by calling him "silver-haired thief" just to mess with him.
8. Megumin fights with Iris. This episode is the beginning of the spin-off story of Megumin and Iris (plus Yunyun) imitating the chivalrous thief gang in Axle later on.
9. And this is the end of volume 6 in the Light Novel titled "Rokka no Ojou" (Princess of Six Flowers), which is a parody of "Rokka no Yuusha" (Heroes of Six Flowers) anime from 2014. Episode 7 next week will cover the story of volume 7 titled "Okusenman no Hanayome" (110 Million Brides). This might be a parody of "Seto no Hanayome."

Roshi, Sheera & Lupa needs to know how much more efficient, capable and even hardcore Kazuma is in this event from the manga.
1 - Kazuma didn't use drain touch on Claire, he pretended to surrender and then when RANDOM guard (just a background character) touched his hands, he used it.
2 - He didn't use water+ice at guards group in manga, instead he used earth + wind to blind them with dust.
3 - He didn't use water + ice to make Mitsurugi slip, instead he used ice to freeze the sword from its sheath, and then used water+ice while covering his nose and mouth so Mitsurugi can't breathe. Rain didn't use heal on him, she used fire spell to melt the ice.
4 - For some reason they cut out moment where Kazuma did use snipe skill while doing a 360° jump to completely destroy crystal on rain's magic staff when she was casting lightning. Both Claire and Rain were very impressed.
5 - During the scene where Claire was talking bad things about Kazuma after the robbery, she confessed that she would actually date the thief if he was on good side, that's why Kazuma wanted to reveal his identity.
6 - Kazuma didn't fail to use stealth. He and Chris successfully avoided those first guards. (in the anime, it seems like Kazuma is in heat for no good reason which is not the case in the manga). But first they went for vault (skipped in the anime), not princess room. At vault they didn't find any relics... But Kazuma found an adult manga (likely from Japan)... steal it and triggered the alarm.
I took all these points from @kitayskiykabachek8244 's comment on another reaction video as he/she read the LN & manga and I thought everyone should know how impressive Kazuma is.
Tbf from the sounds of it the anime fight sounds better because from what I heard in the LN he uses bind on the guards then drain touch where as in this they make him look like he’s actually fighting

In the light novel it’s clarified, the mask vanir gave kazuma was a gift. It was a prototype for something he was gonna sell in his store. The mask was supposed to put you at “the top of your game” for a few hours. Hence, kazuma went super instinct and was acting like vanir. He was even tasting negative emotions, the way vanir feeds on negative emotions

Imagine being a famously powerful swordmaster and getting destroyed by a normal person using BASIC MAGIC.
The Vanir mask was the reason Kazuma popped off like that. Remember when Vanir told him to wear it on a full moon to get increased stats and durability? Besides if you notice his speech you'll realize thst after he refuses to escape and the full moon shines on him, he starts speaking like Vanir which enables him to tko Claire. While fighting Mitsubishi he also says "Oh, so these are negative emotions" like he's feeding off of the negative emotions in the way demons do.
Supplementary info/LN changes (long comment warning because many notable things were changed.)
Fun fact: the WN released (Dec. 2012 - Oct. 2013) before Persona 5 was announced (Nov. 24, 2013) and LN 6 (March 1, 2014) was released before Persona 5 released (September 15, 2016.) In the LN, after the punch last episode, Megumin was on his back likely due to Explosion and realized he was back, so she told him to give her Mana so she can help him fight and she beat up the delinquents without Explosion (she let Iris fight, because her stats are OP as a Royal and she could beat them in Kazuma’s body, despite the swap.) Claire and Darkness were furious and lectured him when he returned, instead of Aqua (during the banquet, Claire also chewed him out so badly he ran away crying and wanted to leave, because everyone thought his Party should ditch Kazuma and gave solutions to replace Kazuma, the weakest class and felt useless, despite everything he did so far.) Claire was like an S, the counterpart to the M Darkness and Kazuma confronted her about her desires with Iris, bringing up her having a moment with Iris.) They weren’t caught the same way in the LN, as Kazuma triggered the alarm by stealing a dirty magazine and they shouldn’t have been spotted with Lurk, as it can trick even a Rookie Killer (the monster shown in KonoBakuen.) Rain is a Mage, so the anime buffed her by giving her access to healing, which that class doesn’t get (she ‘healed’ Mitsurugi by melting the ice with her magic and couldn’t heal Claire/Claire didn’t fight.) This entire fight disappointed the community, since the LN makes it clear that it’s all Kazuma with the mask just giving him clearer thinking and apparently an important staff member downplays Kazuma so he never gets his full cool moments from the LN, for comedy (he solos the knight force by spamming Drain Touch, Create Earth and Windbreath to blind, Bind, and Steal, to non-lethally defeat everyone with no damage skills, besides Drain Touch and causes them to panic because they think he’s more powerful than a Crimson Demon, as no one should be able to use such high mana costing spells like Bind and spam it, he doesn’t have Manatite, and they can’t see Drain Touch, so it just looks like he is just one-shotting people by being near, Kazuma defeats Mitsurugi by grabbing his face and shoving Create Water down his throat and instantly uses Freeze, preventing him from breathing and naturally choking, lowering their morale and forcing them to get help so Mitsurugi doesn’t die and he was taken out during this scene, Chris and Kazuma used this skill called Escape, which prevented the knights from capturing them/catching up to them as it boosted their evasion rate, Kazuma used Snipe to break Rain’s staff, causing her to cry, and prevented her from casting deadly magic to kill them, and the stakes were higher as Claire told Rain and everyone else to kill them and would let Aqua use Resurrection.)
Darkness used the lighter and burned the dirty magazine, which made Kazuma dejected and the scene where the castle finds out, is due to Aqua and Megumin, who sealed the Divine Treasure ahead of time and confirmed it was to protect Iris, respectively (Claire insults Kazuma again, but starts crushing on the masked thief, saying that she was disappointed that he became a thief, would’ve taken him in if he wasn’t a criminal, and hopes to meet him again.) Iris says that she fell for the handsome thief, pranked Kazuma to get a reaction out of him, and when Kazuma declares to beat the Demon King, Claire sneers at him (Iris also mentions her unique skill here in this anime only scene, Exterion, which is a glowing slash that can cut things into two and she can vary it’s power.) Fun fact: the chibis here are from the LN and are used for the next LN previews (also, among the dolls Mitsurugi has, one is a Winter Shogun, which Kazuma won for Yun Yun in LN 3/S2.) When Megumin writes the note, Darkness and Kazuma react, with Darkness panicking and Kazuma choosing not to reveal because he’s now her hero that she looks up to (there was also a silly scene where Kazuma steals Aqua’s wine and Megumin’s age is brought up and she says that she’s old enough to marry, so she’s allowed to drink and goes to buy the wine as Kazuma’s too overprotective.) So, I mentioned the cut ring joke in Episode 4, because at the end of this 2nd epilogue, Aqua sees the ring and tries to perform the same trick again, which Kazuma instantly keeps it away from her and LN 6 ends (they swapped the Alderp, Iris, and Kazuma scenes/PoVs, with Alderp first, then Iris, and lastly Kazuma’s, for the LN and some info was cut, but I’m holding it back, because they’re portraying it as a mystery instead of a crazy sudden reveal, like they did for Wolbach in LN 4 and KonoBakuen, and Hans in the same LN.) With what you’ve seen so far, you can now see that this is one of the darker and more serious LNs with insidious things happening and that Konosuba is more than just a comedy (the same staff cut one infamous chapter which would’ve clued anime only viewers in more, at least for Kazuma’s skills and not think he’s a joke) and the next LN/second half of this Season will continue this vibe and why they separated LN 5 and LN 6, so LN 6 and 7 could continue back to back (also, the first LN with no boss fight or General.)
