Toru's backstory on why he isn't interested in any romance makes sense. His mother is a horrible parent who left him all alone by himself for another married man. Also, Yui's persistence in asking her crush Toru out is quite annoying. If it's the other way, story would be different. I wonder what happened to Toru's mom?

Oh about Toru's mother, well let's just say that she got the worst karma. It turns out that his mother's lover was also married as u mentioned before but the worst one was that her lover's wife found out about their affair and sued both of for damages. She and her lover broke up when her lover ditched her when they're forced to pay damages to the ex wife of her lover leaving her with a massive debt that will haunt her and were on a run from debt collectors.
Yui is quite persistent in asking Toru out and he declines her advances. Quite understandable because dude doesn't want to partake in romance all because of a traumatic memory involving his mother eloping with a married man and he is left all alone with just strawberries. Goodluck dealing with Yui's persistence, Toru.
A solid reason as to why Toru wasn’t interested in romance. His mother abandoned hime like that and eloped with another man. No wonder he was hesitant in getting into a relationship. Yui was kinda annoying and so persistent. I don’t get why she was mad Toru was at the matchmaking party. She also was but for some reason she’s the one getting mad. And Toru didn’t even want to go in the first place. He was tricked by his coworker
Pay attention to the story! When he asked her why she was there she straight up said that she was told that they were going to get him there. Her coworkers did their best to get those two together.

This story was bogus. His reason for not liking strawberries? And it's the same reason why he shies away from romance? Gimme a break! I get the fact that having your mom run off with another man is traumatic to a young child, but he's twenty eight years old. I've known people who have been through shit like that. Raised in the system, bounced from orphanage to foster homes and back again, but every one of them did not shy away from love. In fact, the reality was exactly the opposite. When they found someone who wanted them, they were clingy, desperate for the love and attention they had missed out on.

Where if the roles are reversed, this guy would've get charged with SA in real life. Why girls like Yui doesn't know when to give up and when a guy says no, NO MEANS NO. She's so annoying as hell, Toru simply doesn't want to get involved with romance but this girl's persistence really turned this video into complete garbage. FMC is full of RED FLAGS.
