Getting another dirtbike after more than 10 years out the game, just thought id watch a video to refresh my memory and im glad i did, it put my worries to bed (will i be a complete newbie again which no doubt i will), thanks alot mate, you described it perfect!
This was very helpful for a beginner like me. This video really described every detail that I needed to ride a dirtbike. All the other videos I watched weren’t as helpful as this one. Thank you 🙏 for this great video👍🏾
I have a question if netrual is in the middle and first and second are below netrual does that mean if your going from 2nd to 3rd you have to move up twice
Neutral is in between 1st and 2nd. When you are in 1st and pull it up all the way, that’s 2nd. So you only go up one from 1st to 2nd and halfway is neutral.
HELP!! I'm a girl who has ridden a 2 stroke 85 and I'm great at starting off and shifting... I got a klx230r and the only thing I just cannot understand is using the clutch going around a sharp turn. if I'm in 1st and go down this hill there's a sharp right I have to make.. as long as I'm going the right speed for the right gear I shouldn't have to use the clutch right? only hit my breaks? and should I not hit the breaks until I'm in the middle of this turn too? i see and hear some people pulling the clutch in only the tiniest bit while turning then just popping it out and hitting the gas again. do I really need to pull in my clutch a tiny bit as I'm in the middle and coming OUT of the turn? this isn't a huge sharp turn but sharp enough I'm scared to do it. I also can touch only with my tippy toes. I have problems stopping and putting my feet down because I'll accidentally lose balance and bust my butt falling on my side... any advice?
Yes if you are going at the right speed, you can certainly slow down without pulling in the clutch. Listen to the engine and if it sounds like it's ready to bog down, pull in the clutch, but you can go pretty slow in even 2nd gear if needed. Since I can't see this turn you are talking about, can't really judge when to hit the brakes, depends on how steep it is and if you need to slow down more. You don't have to touch the clutch around turns at all, but in some cases you do...just use your best judgment for that! If you have trouble touching the ground, it would make sense to keep your speed going so you don't loose balance on a slow turn. Hope that helps!
Thank you I’m in August 2024 it my birthday I’m tuning 8 but I’m nearly big enough to ride 65 I’m pretty good I have riding I have been doing it for pretty much my hole life my height 126 cm
@@BrosFOURRSpeed was going down hill and hit a wash out , lost control bike fell on top of me then slid for a little bit while it was still on me🤣🤣🤣, can’t wait for my 2023 yz250f to get in
One part where I think he is incorrect was the braking part, I barely use my rear brake, only in an emergency situation usually. I come into corners very heavy on the front brakes with the front forks compressed, they're nothing like push bike's, I've never locked up the front wheel, they're amazing, must be the floating front disk or something, but they don't seem lock up, even when it feels they should be , they don't.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed 10:54 you mention "a little bit more" which is fine. I'm just saying that me personally use the front brakes probably 80% more than the rear brake. Maybe I'm riding wrong? Just the way I ride.
Keep in mind this video is for beginners. If I said 80%, beginners would just rip the front break and probably crash. But yeah as you ride more you'll find that sweet spot. I definitely use the front break a lot more on the track. And maybe 50% in the trails depending on terrain
This was so helpful for us newbees out here! Thank you so much for this vid! I really enjoyed it!
Glad it helped!! Riding a dirtbike is so much fun once you get the basics down!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thank you! Yes, I have access to a dirt bike and now will take it for a spin!
That was simple and to the point I’m going to start riding my dirt bike as soon as possible ,thank you

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Looking at a 2012 250 Suzuki RMZ, i rode a 85 ktm but im older and heavier now, you have any experience with a suzuki rmz 250?
@@leewharton1977 is that a two stroke? Last two stroke I had was an 85.
I know they are faster bikes so just have to be mindful of that.

They are definitely a lot of fun!!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Do they come in automatic as well

Very good tutorial. Nice job and informative. Looks like so much fun.
Thanks so much! Riding bikes is so much fun!
That was so cool - felt like I was on a roller coaster. You should talk about the safety equipment you wear.
Glad you enjoyed this video! That's a good point, mainly just the boots, helmet, chest protector and then the clothing!
Great tutorial, makes me want to learn to ride!
You should! It's a lot of fun for sure!

Hi Bros Fourr Speed, can you review and test ride the 2022 KAWASAKI NINJA 400. Please 🥺
Since this video is about motorcycle. 😉
We’d love to start reviewing more bikes and are trying to work on that!
Great video very helpfull
Glad you enjoyed it! What kind of bike are you learning to ride?
Thanks so much really helped me out
You're welcome!
could you go over down shifting please , every time i down shift it jerks the bike forward every time
When you downshift, you should be slowing down or slowing letting the clutch out. Don’t list let go and have it go out, that’s what makes it jerk.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed is rev matching necessary?
@@ArsenYazykov I do that sometimes, it would make it smoother for sure!
So when you are shifting gears while moving do you let the clutch out immediately or just slowly like the start.
Pretty much immediately and matching the throttle input as well!

@@rippedbeast6941 Yeah!
So do you have to let off the throttle when pulling in clutch to shift gears?
Yeah, it's just like a manual car if you have driven one.

Do i have to ease off clutch in all gears or just in first gear?
You can be a bit quicker after 1st. Feel it out and start slow and you'll slowly learn to shift quicker and quicker
🔥🔥🔥ima beginner with dirtbikes I come from wheeling pedal bikes
Good step up lol!
Do. I need a four stroke or a two stroke to learn on?
Doesnt matter. It's the same concept. Just depends on what kind of bike you want to have
Cool tip
Glad it was helpful! Bikes are fun to ride!
Can you downshift it from 3rd to 2nd gear?
Yup! You can upshift or downshift multiple gears, just depends on speed, if you need to rev match and how you are riding.
Thanks

4 stroke sucks !!!
I ditched 2 strokes after the 85cc. Not going back..buy what works for you..
